    I just can’t stand slavery
It is a sin to me
Until the slaves are free of their chains, I will stay enraged
    I’ve heard Truth and Garrison
    Speak of abolition
    Underground Railroad’s great
It’s a start, so I did my part
But with the horrible Compromise of 1850
    Kansas-Nebraska Act letting popular sovereignty
Decide if those states will end up free or pro-slavery
Border Ruffians best watch out, oh!
    Ooh, slavery must be through
I’ll do what I must do
At Pottawatomie Creek I’ll sneak up and run ‘em through
    Free-Soilers are my crew
It’s what God wants me to do
    Bleeding Kansas so be it
    Slavery, it must be through
    And still slavery persists
    But in Massachusetts
I got my Secret Six backing plans for my violence
Victory in Kansas and all I hear is freedom, freedom
But not for the slaves of south, cause their masters still beat ‘em
If slavery is to end one thing’s for sure
We got to fight it like we fight a war
Start a slave rebellion by invading Harper’s Ferry
And seize the weapons that are stored there in the armory
Called for thousands of men, but just twenty-one will join me
A saner man, might have just thought twice no!
    Ooh! Slavery must be through
Got the guns we need to
Go farm to farm and arm the slaves so they can rebel, too
    Wait, we’re surrounded, crew
    Farmers, militias too
Is that Robert E Lee with the Marines?
    This raid is through
So I’m charged with murder, treason, conspiracy
Sentenced to hang when I am found guilty
I, John Brown, am now quite certain that the crimes of
This guilty land can not be purged but with blood
    I’m sorry
The abolitionist John Brown can’t come to the telegram right now
    Oh
    ‘Cause he’s dead

“We hold these truths to be self evident; that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by there creator with certain unalienable rights... Life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.” JohnBrown was continuing the Revolution the Founders failed to finish. You can’t be a free nation and own people. The man was a hero.

He had good intentions. However, his methods for doing such were not great. That's like if superheros just killed all criminals. Sure, they got rid of the bad guys and did it under good intentions. Their methods are sure to make them seem less as heroes. If anything, he was a violent vigilante. However, learning about him is great, and it's neat to see how he went against all odds and stood up for what he believed in. Although he went the radical route, and kicked off one of the biggest turning points in American history.

@@jayzgaming3952 Brown was pushed to radicalism by slavers, though. The South continued to press and expand slavery in the United States with the Kansas Nebraska Act, the Fugitive slave act, and starting violence in Kansas. It was the slavers who started shit with the Sack of Lawrence. Brown didn’t start the fight, he just attempted to finish it.

John Brown is awesome. Radical opposition to slavery, including immediate abolition, was always the only reasonable and moderate position. People who supported maintaining "ownership" of humans by other humans for even one more day were not moderates.

I wouldn’t even consider Brown’s method to be the wrong way. Why is the American Independence achieved through violence considered right and Brown’s revolution considered wrong?

@@Theawesomeninja_XD Admittedly the colonists were acting a bit spoiled, and should have tried to de escalate the situation. Brown however was completely justified in his violence. The Dredd Scott Decision and Bloody Kansas made clear slavery wouldn’t end peacefully. You can’t yell for peace until after removing your enemies boot from your throat.
