To be fair England had already abolished slavery by the time of American Civil War and many British people were adamant abolitionists who opposed slavery. Also the famous anti slavery book Uncle Toms Cabin had been sent to England and the book famously changed the hearts of many people on slavery as seeing the main character a devout Christian and loving husband and father being separated from his family and being brutally mistreated and even beaten to death and still mataining his humanity and kindness helped touch the hearts of many people to the true horrors of slavery and even brought Queen Victoria of Britain to tears so many abolitionists understanbly did not want to ally with the confederates.

My classes have been following your songs all year and have loved the songs from Ancient Rome to the Civil War. Thank you.
This was surprisingly balanced. Civil War videos are typically difficult in this regard.
I liked the reference to First Bull Run and how that really made the nation realize that the war was going to be a much longer affair than they initially anticipated.

This is the best! My kids want to watch every time we have a few minutes to spare. They have it almost memorized and it really helped nail down some facts for them. The sad thing is that when I was using my school account to watch this video WHICH WAS LINKED ON MY HISTORY TEACHER'S ASSIGNMENT it was blocked! The school should pay more attention to what thy're blocking. I think the fact that the title just says "Cheap "Thrills" on would make the school go "Oh, this is inappropriate even though it's like INCREDIBLY EDUCATION with no DIRTY REFRENCES or CUSS WORDS!" It's just messed up, and I think that's why this video isn't getting the appreciation.

I love this channel because its awesome and funny at the same time. In fifth grade I showed this to my social studies teacher and he played in class and at the Bull Run part everyone died laughing including Mr. Andy that day was a great day because of Mr Betts and Mr Andy
