uhm actually, the US (Kennedy) caused the cold war by putting missiles in turkey first, the USSR felt threatened put missiles in Cuba, then they blocked it off which the US had no legal right to do. and the Soviets and the USA weren't equal in nukes, us was actually way stronger. counting by a total of 18000 warheads while the USSR only had 1600. they win 10:1. If us wasn't so tough on communism the cold war would've never happened. the USSR never wanted war.
