      nope, doing it on a bike wont do anything since front and rear brakes are totally separate, but on a car most likely only the tyres will get fucked since when you use the brakes its only applied to the front tyres and the rear ones are for the handbrake i guess

    I personally prefer to use the heel/toe method to initiate the burnout. That way you can control the throttle and brake and you don't get the jump forward. Also your left leg is pretty much trained to stamp on the clutch, so using it to modulate the brake when initiating a burnout often results in too much brake pressure going to the rear.
    Using the heel/toe method also keeps your left leg free to put the clutch in quickly should there be an issue and again will save the car running away in the short time you swap feet to reapply the brake.

    • @jakegarrett8109
      @jakegarrett8109 7 лет назад +19

      Some 4WD (like a pickup) are called "part-time 4WD" or "full-time 4WD". If its the "part-time", then yes you can disengage the power to the front wheels, but if its the other kind, you need a saw and duck tape to make the front wheels stop working. I would not recommend doing that.
      With AWD, I'm not sure. Some are computer controlled power transfer, so you might actually be able to hack it get it to apply at least most of the power to the back, but I'm not sure if you could do all the power to just the rear wheels.

    This is fairly easy to understand! I was looking up how to drift on Wikihow yesterday and then I saw their "How To Do A Burnout" video. They did say to exert some force on the clutch and then press the gas but then I started to think that the brake had no role at all. This was much clearer! I can't drive mind you, nor have I ever taken any lessons for it, but I am very interested in cars. Great vid!

    my god You're making science out of it. In my country in Europe we drive mostly manuals and fwd, with small engines. I can do burnouts even in a 70hp 1.0liter engine without handbrake... Just revit up near limiter, fast clutch release and there You go, most of the cars will keep spinning tires and do burnouts.

      Pull the handbrake, high revs, dump the clutch for FWD. Not saying it's good for your car, but it's nice because FWD cars can lock only the rear brakes, whereas with RWD most cars will require installing line lock to lock only the front.

  • @nickydrifts
    @nickydrifts 7 лет назад +9

    Instead of losing torque at the wheels in the time you are switching your left foot from the clutch to the brake, why not keep the right foot depressed on both the brake and throttle, similar to a heel-toe maneuver? It's more certain to initiate a successful burnout.

    In order to doing the burn out 1.turn off the tracking control "fully off" 2. Ur car must have a lsd 3. Google ur car to find the power output graph for the best rpm 4. Try to hold the rpm at the point u find in step 3 5. Drop the clutch otherwise u may burn ur culch 6. When u feel or hear the wheel spinning give a light break use ur left foot 7. U can managed the car by how hard u break 8. Release the gas and left foot clutch in all the way to stop
    Fwd burn out can be done by use hand break ! Don't need foot break but I will tried

      tonyvador67 my workmate does skids in his naturally aspirated tb42 patrol. Oh yeah and it also has 35 inch rock crawling tyres underneath it as well.
      So long as it has a 2wd option you can turn em lol, some cars might just be a bit more difficult.

    Careful in S2000's (especially AP1's). The rear LSD isn't very good at handling the "shock load" (I'm sure there's a proper name) of a burnout. In AP2 S2K's, they put a bleed valve between the clutch and the clutch master cylinder just to give the LSD a more progressive load (and hurting burnout abilities). Thoughts EE?

    Probably would have been worth mentioning that stationary burnouts can destroy your back brakes. Not instantly, of course, but if you are out with your mates and do a bunch of skids you might suddenly find that you have a lot less traction and far worse brakes on the arse end. Might be worth just letting people know...

  • @TurboReplin

    What about brake wear ?

    • @DielectricVideos
      @DielectricVideos 7 лет назад

      TurboReplin The brakes are designed to be able to pull the car from 100+ MPH to full stop thousands of times over their lifetime, so the wear on the brakes will be minimal. The tire wear and clutch wear are the much more substantial issues with burnouts.

      Unless your dumping the clutch at every green light, locking your brakes at every red light, and drifting around every corner, close to ground or ambient air temps.

      When you drive hard they get quite warm.

      When you're driving it's just static friction. Not too much heat will be produced unless the tire is skidding against the asphalt.

    Anyway to get back to my point😂 I am not very rich, my car is a '95 Volkswagen convertible it had 75 horsepower (they say some get lost over the years) so it might be less now... Should I even try this or is this going to break my only car??😂😂

    You have to be careful when dumping clutch on S2000, especially around 6-7k rpm, if done abruptly and/or regularly, it can shatter the rear differential

    if you have a automatic front wheel drive car the best way to do a burn out is to start the car cold and as soon as it starts put it in reverse go backwards then slam it into drive , soon as your burnout is done shut the car off quickly and pour frezzing cold water on the engine to cool it down.
