Happy 9 months to you!!! I was so excited for you when you posted your Disney pics on FB! Your future is so exciting! I'm so so so happy for you! Very inspiring! Hugs!
Elizabeth, I am 65 and had the RNY surgery last May which is pretty radical and my life has changed completely. My body doesn't hurt anymore, I have tons of energy and I am now reading self help books (did that in my 30s!) to find out what my priorities are now. I keep saying I should have done it 10 years ago but I don't think I was ready for it. I am seconding your suggestion that even is the surgery may be later in life, it is well worth it. It has already improved my life so much more than I could ever have hoped for! Congrats on the 9 month surgiversary!
That is so awesome. My dad is 72 and I would really like him to do this. I don't know if he could get approved, but he is a working doctor and is on his feet all day and I know this would make such a difference for him. I catch myself sometimes thinking that I should have done it earlier - but I know I wasn't ready then either. Everything happens when it is supposed to. xo
Finding Elizabeth Your Dad is still working at 72???!!!!! Wonderful! I was just saying to my family and friends that I am so happy that the Ontario Provincial Government (Canada) eliminated mandatory retirement at 65 as it is considered age discrimination. I turned 65 today and went to work and had to smile the entire day because I don't have to fight to keep working. Having had WLS surgery, I am sure this gives me several more years of successful employment.
Loved this video Elizabeth! You have really blossomed over the past 9 months.. and really, 9 months is such a short amount of time, isn't it? I can't wait to watch you continue your journey this year. You inspire me and I love ya!!! PS... you have beautiful eyes!!
Thank you so much. And you have some pretty beautiful eyes too -- you just glow. PS Send me your chicken liver recipes. Now I'm craving them after watching your video.
I can't even begin to tell you how much I love these surgiversary videos you do. Being at the beginning, it gives me so much hope and excitement for the future. You are just building everyone up, and you are fabulous. Also, I'm at the point you were with clothes. I have this intense to desire to BURN all of my clothes. I can't wait until it is all too big and they can be out of my life. Clothes make such an impact on mood and self esteem. I can't wait until I have more options!
Thank you so much. There is a lot to be hopeful about for those of you who are just starting out. Yay for new clothes! I went out today and bought a bunch I probably shouldn't have (the down size to the new clothes:))
I can totally identify with the "it's too late" feeling! I was knocked down hard for about 10 years with health and weight issues ... pretty much thought that was it for me and I was going to end up one of those hermits you find dead in their home, years after they died. lol. That still might happen, but I'm working hard make sure it doesnt happen soon! ;) just have to keep pushing and improving and I'll get there ... and if i dont end up with an ideal life, that's ok too ... the journey itself is a good enough.
I wish you lived closer to some of us. You need to get out of that house. I know you are working on it. I of course have suggestions - but you probably don't want to hear them. (I don't even like to hear my suggestions). It's so hard to get out there when you haven't been in a while. I've worked at home for almost 10 years and it really isolated me (and I wanted to isolated) -- but now I find that I actually miss people. And the other thing is when I stopped isolating I got to receive other people's perspective on things that were always bouncing around in my head with nothing or no one to challenge them. xo Elizabeth
Yayyy for Disneyland! So happy you did it and had a great time! (I've been to Florida but never California - is it much different?) Congrats on your 9 months Surgiversary! You have come a long way and you are doing so great - an inspiration to me!

Embrace it! You deserve those new clothes. :)
Also, the hope part is exciting but also terrifying. What a ride.
You will get there - don't even sweat it. I know it's hard to believe that presurgery. I know I didn't. Congrats on the surgery date!
Can I like this twice? Thanks for sharing! I'm 40 and have had the it's too late thoughts as well. Your video gives me hope!
Awww, thank you! It's definitely not too late. I've got almost 10 years on you and feel younger now than I have in 15 years.
