Like the explanation. For a build like this I'd recommend to always run Sergeants on the chest, that way if you do move to Oakensoul you won't have a lot of juggling around to do. In addition the buff you get from running the three different armor types is equal to equipping 3 Inner Lights on your bar (2% bonus to max magic vs 6%) This lets you slot Restoring Focus or perhaps another Fighter's Guild ability for additional Spell Damage.
Hey Mr-Evil, Thanks for dropping a comment. Just an fyi, it’s probably been a bit since you read all of these passives, I know I forget, but inner light is I believe 5% from the skill and 2% from the skill line passive vs an additional 2% from having a third armor type. You get +2% for each armor type so it’s only a 2% marginal increase.
Thanks Mike, I appreciate the feedback! Definitely have plans to do some more in the future. My goal is to really round out all the builds I have so there is something for everyone. That will include one bar builds for every class and some more fun rp focused builds.
This is awesome, thank you! I went from a 50K DPS Oakensoul build to 70K almost immediately and I'm confident I can get it into the 80s once I finish leveling all the skills. A question: I noticed that some of the recommended skills work well from a distance while others require that I be right on top of the boss. Is the intent of this build that it be used from melee range, or should I mix and match recommended skills based on my preferred style? Or does my question overlook something I should have noted in the video? Thanks again.
That’s awesome to hear! Not enough people know about the HA Templar! You are correct, you want to mix and match as you need, just make sure you keep up empower. So solar barrage probably needs to stay no matter what, and on enemies you need to kite or stay away from, you’ll just loose out on a little dps. It will still buff the rest of your class skills though.
@@Nightharrow Thanks again. After leveling up my skills and using potions/food properly I was able to parse 80K for the first time ever! And this is without the Perfected version of Relequen, so maybe I can get into the upper 80s once I have premium gear. However, in real life PVE so far I'm finding that I need to swap in Living Dark and maybe another defensive skill because the 80K setup is so squishy.
For sure, and that will almost always be the case. If you are solo / duo the ring of the pale order is amazing, otherwise a shield or heal is definitely the way to go. Also, you can now use the deadly strike set with sergeants nail and it works just as well, but does a lot more aoe.
No changes that I’m aware of. If you want, come by the discord and we can take a look and give you some advice. It’s probably that trap and/or barrage is falling off. You want to cast those early rather than letting them fall off, and let the others expire before recasting.
Hello and thank you for your posts. I wanted to ask you a question. I have two sets I cant decide on,. One is Storm Masters with Relequen's and the other is Storm Masters and Sergeant's. When i test each of those sets on a dummy with just testing the heavy attack damage, the Storm Masters and Sergeant's set ends up doing more dps . So my question is, does the dummy take into account the bonus for dungeons that the Relequen's provides? I would have thought the Storms/Relequen's would do better than the Storms/Sergeant with this build. Thank you for your feed back. I sub'd and like your content as always. I am basically doing undaunted pledges.
It does count the buff, but let me elaborate on some things… You always want sergeants on any heavy attack build, so I would decided between storm masters and reel. Reel is only single target and it takes a bit for it to gain stacks. Also, it doesn’t buff your heavy attacks, so you would want to compare total damage. Unfortunately you also need to control for crit and procs, and so the best thing to do other than calculating dmg theoreticallly is to do full parses. And even those will vary quite a bit. The good news is I have tested them all and can tell you that you want sergeants & rele for best single target damage and sergeants & deadly for best overall damage. All the other sets are 3k-5k lower Dps than those, but will still be plenty for most situations. The reason I didn’t recommend deadly was because you do loose that 5% damage with a two bar build (oakensoul provides that buff) and I simplified things down perhaps a bit too much… Anyways, hope that answers your question, but feel free to follow up or come by the discord :)
I’ve just turned my one bar magplar into a heavy attack to see if her parse numbers can go up a bit as I’ve started vet trials but I seem to be stuck in the mid 60ks… my CP is 900 will this be restricting me? I’m wearing oakensoul so my build is slightly different and I’m on console.
Cp won’t matter a whole lot. Each slotable is about 3% of your damage. Except the Ha cp for a Ha build. Golding put your weapons is most important. Oakensoul is a few k less damage than my setup but if your group doesn’t have all the buff they should then it might be better. Main thing is make sure you heavy attack then skill. Come by the discord if you want personalized advice!
My wife is looking for a solo templar build, what would you recommend ? we are both new players more or less, I have mostly only done crafting hehe and unlocked most sets that I can craft. She would love using the fire staff and going magicka. Any tips? what should I craft or she hunt for gear wise etc etc PS she wants to start going for a one bar build.
I’ve got a one bar Templar build I haven’t published yet, let me take a look. For sets, orders wrath is basically always the best crafted set right now. After that pillar of nirn is also a great easy to get set (faulkreth hold, just farm it on normal) or if you go all Templar skills then you could use War Maiden for the magic damage, or any number of sets really. I could write you a list of like 10 but that’s probably not helpful. Lol. If you want, come by the discord and send me a DM and I can send you that unpublished build.
Actually it doesnt look like I finished the card enought o be helpful so... She wants Jabs, Solar Barrage, Ritual of retribution, barbed trap, and wall of elements. Zaan is eventually what she will want for her monster help, but anything in the mean time works. Ill try to get that video out before too long. Ring of the pale order is amazing for staying alive, you could drop trap for a heal. Either morph of rushed ceremony will work well for a burst heal. I parse about 90k on my oakensoul sorc, so about the same if the build is designed right. The main benefit is oakensoul is easier. Well, I say that, you could run ring of the pale order if not doing oakensoul and that would give you a ton of healing solo.
