We have a Punk Rock Flea market here in Birmingham (Alabama) once or twice every year & I literally count down the days for it. They have a lot of hand made cosmetics as well as prints and such from artists. They also have local bands playing which is really cool too. Mostly I just love the vibe & go every year just to browse. Other than that I can’t find any genuinely good flea markets here.
I went to an antique story recently that was bonkers. Like you said, it felt like a museum. There were huge swords, old war memorabilia in cases, suits of armor in cases, and TAXIDERMY. Like a WHOLE buffalo and tons of exotic animals (not to offend). It was so crazy, and the store was in a super small town (there was also beautiful gothic furniture and McDonald's glasses, and even a historic Japanese wardrobe). Just Google "Burgaw Antique Place" and you should be able to see some pictures. Flea markets and antique stores are the coolest (and the strangest).
Kinda off topic but there is a super amazing pin maker in Philly that I have been buying from for a year now. Her name is Kimi / KWTDesigns and will often sell at the Punk Rock Flea Market. Super cool tattoo inspired pins and flash sheets!
I’ve never been to an actual flea market other than the really hipster-y ones in Brooklyn and while those are really expensive, they have an amazing selection of homeware trinkets and bits 😍 thanks for making this though!! Lived vicariously through your experiences and photos ~
girl.... i’ll be at qmart this weekend. perfect timing! have you ever been to the quakertown antique mall? it’s relatively close to qmart, right by the wawa & cvs on 309. it’s indoor with a lot of vendors.. i’ve gotten a couple of mcdonald’s cups and tom & jerry jam jars there (i posted this before watching the vid and of course you showed some pics of qmart lol)
If you live in South Florida you have to make your way to the Antique mall at the festival flea market. It has a reputation of only old people going, but who cares lol. My girlfriend and I go there like every 2 weeks.
I love flea markets! It's even more exciting if you can go to some abroad. If any of you ever get to go to Japan, I definitely recommend the antique market at the Tomioka Hachiman-gu shrine in Tokyo. It's on every Sunday, but it's outdoors, so depends on the weather. Some vendors can even speak a little English. :)
They have an event in northern va called yard crawl that takes place on one of the oldest/longest roads in the valley and all kinda of people set up for miles. My friends go looking for records, dvds and vintage Star Wars toys.
I may add that if you're looking through the piles of clothes that are gross, bring some rubber gloves so you don't have to make direct contact. Maybe put them in a trash bag or something after and wash them in vinegar (I heard it helps get the smell out of clothes)
The hipster tax is SO REAL In Oregon! There are particular thrift spots in Portland that are reasonable, but the markets are mostly super curated and craft goods which are fantastic but spendy.
I'm so lucky to live in Oregon, somewhere that has so many antique shops; I've found some fun 70's and 80's style kitchen items that fit my fancy and I even found a couple really cool rocking chairs. Surprisingly, I haven't found any Portland hipster flea markets, haha, which sucks.
I’m so glad you mentioned the Cottman Ave/Roosevelt Mall Flea Market as a “junk market” ❤️😂. They literally have trash for sale every year it’s held. Rusty tools to expired food 🥴.
i went to this insane flea market in jersey with my family one time and it was huge (you might have actually shown a pic of it in this video i think but im not sure)
I have an idea to go to flea market and sell my product wholsale to venders that sell similar items already maybe just 1 or 2 items at a time so they can test etc... I make this product myself and wondered if anyone thinks this idea can work??? i just am not the kind of guy that want to stand in a booth selling all day... i guess i could pay someone to sell my product...anyway i just want honest opinions...thanks
I loooooooove... all manner of thrifting, garage sale-ing, junk sale-ing, flea marketing, antique malling, pawn shopping, pop up shopping, hipster/art marketing... it's all so much fun!!!!!!!!! And the best stuff comes from the less mainstream places. We need more representation for the weekend junk browsing gals out here in the world... yea trendy thrift shops get all the love but where's the spirit of digging thru piles of shiiiit and sad depressing junk and making uncomfortable small talk with the old ladies !!!!!!
Have you been to green dragon in ephrata? It's definitely a big mix of junk, antique, farmers market, and bootleg Edit: even if it blows lancaster has some bomb vegan places now to eat at
im so pressed i didnt see this video when it came out yesterday!!! this is a rlly interesting video!! @ youtube why are you so bad at showing me my subscriptions!!!
“Hipster tax” WHY IS THIS SO TRUE

Watching this I thought US and EU fleamarkets can't be that different... then we got to "weapons booths" 🤣
Was thinking the same thing. How different can Us be from here in Australia.... Oh wait. Weapons.. :-(
ugh I love this pink lighting 😍

That hairstyle is ridiculously adorable. I miss Pennsylvania flea markets, I hope someday I get to live there again.
My dad used to work at flea markets! I have no clue what he sold but my parents constantly talk about what it was like to have a booth.
