Question #34 in the 100 insurance questions in 100 days series. By Steve Ladd of Horan Companies, Inc. in Baldwinsville, NY.
“If somebody gets hurt on my trampoline, am I liable?”
The answer to that question is yes, you would be liable. Anytime someone is on your property and they get hurt while on your property, ultimately you are the one responsible.
In the case of a trampoline, if somebody were to be injured that did not live in the house while using the trampoline, then you yourself would end up being liable and you could have an issue with your homeowner’s insurance needing to pay out in regard to your liability coverage. So you want to make sure that you have enough liability from a coverage standpoint. And if you do decide to get a trampoline, you might want to increase that. Then the same with the swimming pool.
