I keep a package of baby wipes at my work area to wipe my hands and the glue. I love these cards, thanks.
That's very smart of you!
This is the first time I've seen your videos, it was very good, I really like how your cards came out. I also liked how you flipped the screen from one shot to the next instead of watching the entire process every second. Thank you for a great video.
Oh great, thanks so much for the feedback!
What beautiful ephemera!!! The girl and the peach one are my faves. Big love from Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you! Big love back at'cha!!
Lovely cards! I’m so glad you came up on my recommended videos. I’ve subscribed. Hard to pick a favorite…I love them all! Thanks so much for sharing! ❤️

Thank you, Bette. Just think of it as a different type of solitaire! Happy crafting ❤
Hard choice...

Thank you for sharing this! I have tons of playing cards that we've collected as souvenirs over the years, so this would be a great way to "stash-bust"! I'm thinking Christmas gift tags...
They would be PERFECT for Christmas tags!!

They are beautiful
Thank you ♥️
Beautiful cards, I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much ♥️
These are beautiful!
Thank you!
Excellent! Going to pull out my play cards tomorrow.
Yay! Have fun 🥰
Very cohesive collage cards that blend together so well. Lightly inking after gluing gives a softer effect. Thanks for sharing.
Great suggestion, Sue!
Love them all.
Thank you!
If you use a little stiff stenciling brush with your ink pad you will get a little more color and it would be easier. I've even used stiff acrylic paint brushes
Great tip, thanks for sharing!
I love them so much, thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you, I do hope you have a go!
I really like your method.I have never seen anyone decorate the back of the card.I also like that the corners were pre cut.
I am new to your channel so I want to keep watching.
Thank you, Sue! Please check out my channel page, hopefully you will find more videos that you will enjoy. Happy crafting! ❤
Loved them all.
Thank you 😊 ❤
Thank you for these ideas I loved every one of them
How wonderful! Thank you, Tobi ❤
I just found your channel,I’m always looking for a new eye on a way to create altered cards. These are lovely.
Thanks so much, Ruth ❤💜🧡
Smaller ink pads--you can rejuvenate them with a little water...you may already know that.
It's always good to be reminded and others may not know, so thank you for the comment!
Those are so cute, thanks for the great ideas. I'm loving them. Adrienne
Great, I'm so glad! Thank you ❤
Wow! Those came out really nice!!!
Thank you!!
Beautiful! My fave is the one with the girl. I've never done any of these, but now I want to. They would be very nice special gift tags for all year round. Or add some holiday elements for gift tags. Can't wait to give it a try. Very well put together video. I loved watching the "creations" as they happened. Thanks!
Thats my favorite, as well! I agree, they would make great tags. I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. ❤💜🧡
I'm a bit late joining you but I'm really glad I've found you. Great fun!
Aw, thanks! I'm glad you're here! ❤
Your video popped up while I was watching one on junk journals and I'm glad it did! I subbed because I really like this! You did a great job they are beautiful! Look forward to going through your other videos! TYFS 🥰
Thanks so much, and welcome to my channel
They look great! It’s hard to choose my fav.
Thank you!!
Love the map!
❤❤❤
Very pretty! If you store the inks face down more ink will come to the top of the pad. Also, try spraying the pad with just a bit of water. It will reactivate any dry ink that’s left there.
Thank you, great advice!
I love the imagine one . The colour of the paper doilie is lovely. Have made some of these before. Going to have a go again. Thanks for the video 🙂 xxx
Yeah, thats a good one! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video!
New subbie today. Using the cards this way is fun to put together. So many possibilities. Your's turned out cute...hugs from Arizona...:)

Thanks, Nancy!
Beautiful, love all of them!!
Thank you❤
Yea I was digging on the corners. I know I will be cutting my corners on mine. I love using napkins on cards too.
Yes, the corners were a great surprise! Napkins and tissue paper are great for decorating. 😊
Me too
Do you
Rough up the cards?
@jacquieGregor No, the glue sticks to them fine without scuffing them first.
Those are so lovely.
Thank you, they were also fun to make 💜🧡♥️
Your cards turned out wonderful. Very cute. I’m going to try this and I like how your corners are snipped.
Thank you, and happy crafting!!
Butterfly 🦋

Thanks, I hope you were crafting with me❤😊
Truly enjoyed watching! Thanks!
Thanks so much, and welcome!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
Beautiful love them
Thank you!
My favorite is the girl !! I bought a bunch of decks of these cards from the dollar tree also. A lot of the decks are mismatched with extra suits of cards so it doesn’t hurt me to to use them as ephemera Lolol. I am inspired by your video
I'm so glad to have inspired you 💓
❤
Beautiful ❤
Thanks 😊
Love these !!
Thank you 😊
That's a deck that was used in the Golden nugget casino (no idea which one). They cut the corners so you can't sneak that deck into the floor and use it to cheat. All casinos mark their used decks. I had a deck that had a tiny hole right thru the entire middle of the card. Maybe a quarter inch, straight thru lol
Oh wow, I had no idea! Well, they are perfect for altering, hahahaha.
Very nice work
Thanks so much! ❤🥰
Absolutely love this idea! TFS
It's so fun, you've got to try it. And if you do, please share!!
very lovely. thank you.
❤❤❤
Beautiful work!!!
Thank you, Ana!
Love that paper pad you used, my favorite is the one with the girl.
I love that paper pad and the girl is my favorite, too!
I ❤️ every card that you made. Thanks for sharing your talent with us. 😊
Thats very nice, thank you!
Thank you so much what a lovely way to alter a playing card ♠️ I really really love ❤️ all of these cards inked and non inked too. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Thank you, Mags, same to you and your family!
That shipment of cards may have been purchased in bulk from the casino. Once a deck is used, they mark it in some form, ie trimming corners or punching a hole in the middle so they are not reused.
I watched ShanukiArt today and want to play with altering playing cards. I have 'a few' LOL Creative Blessings!
You might just be right about the cards, they seemed brand new, though. I'd love to see your makes. Send them to my email theartfuladdict@hotmail.com, if you feel like sharing.
Thank you for sharing, it is inspirational. The cards you used were unique.
Thank you.❤
Thanks for sharing 🌻
Preciosas!!!! La parte de atrás también está decorada?? Gracias!!❤
THIS was a fun tutorial! I’ve never made these but I have a brand new deck of cards waiting for to do SOMETHING with 😄. Now I know…ATC!!! Thanks so much for sharing 🥰
That's awesome! 🥰🥰🥰
I have that same stamp set I haven’t used it in about two years! Might need to get it out 😂
It feels good using supplies not touched in a while. 😊
Thank you so much I’ve watched this again, I know I’m sad!!!!! I really can’t choose they are all really really awesome and stunning too. Please stay safe and well. Please stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Thanks so much! Don't be sad, you're allowed to love them all. ❤💜🧡
These are adorable! The girl or imagine were my 2 favorites by an four are beautiful. TFS!
I'm so glad you like them!
I love your cards they're a great idea and I haven't seen one quite like it before. I'm definitely going to give it a try. Thank you I'm new to watching you
Welcome to my channel, Judie, and thank you so much, for watching and commenting. I'm thrilled to have been able to show you something new and would love to see your cards! ☺
I don't do playing cards but I do do index cards. I decorate one side and then a quote or Bible verse on the other side and I bought a little box for recipes and I put them in it so they can b flipped through. Last year I made one for every female in my family and gave them as Christmas gifts. They were a huge hit.
Thats a great idea!
New to your videos. My fav is "don't forget to play, but I might have inked around all edges of all papers as I'm big on inking already. Like and subscribed. Looking forward to seeing more of your videos ☺♥
I have become an 'inker' myself, since then! 😁
@@TheArtfulAddict Isn't it amazing how inking can seem to join torn/cut pages together to make them look like one? I absolutely love it ♥
Pam from Paper Outpost spritzes a little water to her stamp pads when they start to dry out,
You're right, I've seen her do that, too! I think I went on to do since that video. I love Pam!! Thanks for the reminders ❤
Hi, from Texas.
Hi to you from North Carolina ☺
Love it. So fun. I'm wondering if the corners on those cards were clipped because they had already been used by the casino? That popped into my head. Could be way off base, though. Lol. I'll be watching and subscribing. Thanks for the inspiration.
Hey, that's an interesting theory! Glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for watching. I recently moved to a rural location and am having serious internet issues that interfere with my ability to upload videos. Just know that I'm still here and will upload new content just as soon as I can figure out how!
Bo jour je vius decouvre et jadore mille mercis de ce beau partage
Thank you so much ❤
I loved your filming. I learned so much. I don't have a favorite, and I thought I definitely would. My first time seeing the pearl drops, wow.
If you can, time is valuable, I understand. Did I miss why you didn't cover the back?
I'm so excited to go through your vids.
Thank you, I'm so glad you learned something new! There was no particular reason for not covering the back. I can always cover it when I'm ready to use it, but you can certainly cover it during the alteration process. 💜🧡❤
Thank you again.
So pretty! New sub. 🌷
Thanks so much!
Nice tags.New subbie.Enjoyed your video.
Thank you, Sue, and welcome to my channel!
Yeah I got the same set but only two of the corners were cut, ugh, so I sliced all of them and recut all the corners. I guess all in a craft day
Hm, I guess just another variation. Sounds like you took care of it like a pro!! ✂️✂️✂️
Does the glue stick "let go" over time? I've always been leery of using it. GREAT APCs!
Once in a while I'll see some lift, but gluing paper to paper, if you use enough glue stick, it should last. I've since switched over to the Scotch Create Multi Purpose glue stick, and I like it even better 😉
@@TheArtfulAddict Thanks for that tip - will definitely check it out.
Ideas of ways to use the cards you make??
You could make a group with similar colors and contents to use as trading cards to trade or give to friends. Or, put them in sleeves and keep them as a collection in a book like baseball cards.
What to do with the cards after you make then??
The most common use is to put a piece of regular or coffee-dyed paper on the other side and put them in a journal as additional journaling space. Or you could paper the back and add a special quote to keep for yourself or give to someone.
Don't forget to play
I have another deck for that! 😉
What do you put on the back of the playing card..do you cover that also?
Yes, I cover the back with tea or coffee dyed paper when adding them to a journal. ❤
Alice
What are you doing to the back?
When selected to add to a journal, I glue some coffee dyed paper on the back.
Why are you not covering the face of the cards,,,that is the first thing I'd do
If I end up adding it to a journal and want writing space then I'll go back and cover it with some lined, or coffee dyed paper. But, I may just leave it, as is, for interest. It boils down to not yet knowing where it will go and how I want to use it. However, you can certainly do that first. That is the glory of crafting...no rules!
Don't like the fact that you're not covering the face of the cards!!!! Sorry but this really bugs me
No worries, feel free to cover yours!! ◻✂️❤
Thank you for replying...I know we're all different in what we like when we craft..they were very pretty
Thank you 😊
*i've done literally hundreds of card collage and been a contributor to a gallery display many years ago thanks in part to the collaborations and contacts made on deviantart that included thousands from around the world...the organizer recommended that i avoid gluesticks during the assembly of collage because they were in her words "boogery" ...i use ph neutral bookbinding adhesive when i have it but i've also used other things like gorilla glue...but then my cards already look distressed so this is not really an issue of them looking pretty or pristine...i also tend to make the cards thicker by either gluing/stacking two or three cards together and placing heavy weights on them until dry...i then guild the edges with a gold paint pen...sometimes i'll even burn the edges which can add a bit more visual interest to a given piece especially if you work in a nonlineal organic abstract sort of way (dyslexic brain and left handed for many decades)...i also spend as much time on the back of the cards as i do on the front...i also employ the larger jumbo cards aw well...such as this example: **www.deviantart.com/scottman2th/art/The-Lepidopterist-202132099* * something to also consider would be crumpling the cards then sliding an ink stamp pad lightly over them then adding some more stain to the cards...i work in layers so i'ts not unusual for a given card to have several layers of inks and stains alone before other images are placed over them then sealed/preserved... i've also used large floor puzzle pieces which can be a lot of fun if used as a group collaboration or one where you randomly do the collage on the pieces over time then assemble them once finished*
Thank you so much for the useful information!
@@TheArtfulAddict *you're very welcome... another idea to consider would be to make junk journals (with themes) by using multi media paper and doing your own bookbinding projects...i also keep a look out for old magazines or discarded bits with unusual textures or shapes on them...i have accordion files filled with images so i can quickly assemble an overall idea then set it aside for later...i also have a pretty extensive collection of fountain pen inks that can be utilized for background washes in various tonal combinations...after watching the first few minutes of your video i went out and bought several decks of the cards you used from one of the local dollar tree stores that is less than two miles from the house so i'll be prepping them for my next series of cards or have them ready to use on a moments notice when inspiration strikes me...also check at local comic book stores...ask them for any damaged comics that cannot be sold or the preview magazines they are about to throw away...some really good art to be found there...something else you might find helpful would to be start stockpiling scrapbooking collection books from places like hobby lobby especially when on sale...don't use then right away but save them till you have a nice stack of them maybe six or ten...then find a local stationary or printing shop that has an industrial cutter that does small custom work and then have them cut them to the 2.5 X 3.5 size you need...also have them save the trimmings...they'll be small but you can always use them for gift tags later...i've done this a few times already in the past and i'm still using what was cut years ago...you also have an advantage in this because you can combine different shades and textures more easily...i tear them up and burn the edges than reassemble them...the results are very cool and very difficult to replicate any other way...might want to use some complementary watercolor or ink washes on the back of these bits before gluing them down...this is more for adding a bit of interest later on as the cards are nicked and dinged over time...very subtle yes, and few would ever really notice but when someone does (eventually) it will be a nice nod to your attention to detail...i've also found some good quality collage element collections on wish...might take a while for them to arrive but i've been happy with the sets i've gotten*
I've put a few journals together, Christmas, etc. I thought the shape of those cards were pretty cool. When I opened them up, the cut off edges were a pleasant surprise! Thank your for sharing such great information!
