Also Toyota did an updated 1zz intake manifold gasket due to lean codes popping up. So if you experience that get the orange updated intake manifold gasket from toyota.
love that you adopted a celica bro!! that power steering issue could be just old fluid that's all gunky, happened to me in my gts, i took out the reservoir cleaned it out thoroughly, and flush the power steering system and threw some new ATF in and it fixed my issue. Tbh that fluid is probably the original fluid the car came with lol
the holes for the axle carrier bracket only came in the AWD Matrix and Vibe. You can still use a FWD Corolla/ Matrix / Vibe engine in the Celica and run a Corolla 03-08 Manual 1zz axle.
Dude that’s some big brain stuff right there… I think the matrix ECU may control more chassis stuff than the Celica which may cause some issues. Definitely going to research that though!!!

You should put that ecu in the Matrix when you turbo the Celica!
