very nice footage. It does show they need to double the size of planets at the minimum as the clouds look comically bad sticking out that far into space.
Actual weather simulation super computers probably cost more. Edit: Curiosity got to me. I googled how much one costs to build. I had to add to build because there are a bunch that are free to use and others that cost less than most video games. Do not give Chris Roberts any more ideas he will literally start randomly making a movie which will take away time from the game development then claim that he can’t release it until the movie comes out first😂
I would love any ship that is flying through the atmosphere to create a contrail, and that contrail should linger in the sky for 15 minutes as it slowly dissaperars, while also moving with the wind direction of the clouds.
wow, beautiful, and it is the most beautiful planet in the game so far. It's just that it works and I can't get out of the elevator 👀 I delete the acc, create again, go to Stanton, JP doesn't work for a couple of days 🤣 I only got to that planet once, but immediately fell through the textures 🥳
They really should make the planets bigger, its super weird to have such dense atmosphere while being so short. Clouds like this should only be in the bottom parts of the atmosphere and not starting to touch space.
sure it would be more realistic but it would also mean that to leave the atmosphere you will need to go to 120km up to QT instead of 12km cause they are 1/10 the real size
@@faith4760 I don’t see an issue with QT being in the atmosphere at 12km if the planet is larger. In fact, it could enhance the feeling of ‘I’m about to hit the planet’ that new players often experience when QTing toward it.
CIG did discuss in a recent ISC that they are starting to consider possibly increasing the planet sizes. They said that with the amount of content and POIs they wanna pack into em, combined with player base building, they're gonna start to feel a bit too crowded. They said if they do increase the sizes, they still aren't gonna go full on life-size, but a doubling or even tripling of current planet sizes is being considered, which would mean going from the current 1/10th scale for planets, to 1/5th or 1/3rd scale (moons are currently 1/6th scale, they didn't say anything about those).

2:05.. i was thinking there will be actual wind system for it, but clouds are moving in the different direction than water ripples, so just animation, but cool still
It's really an impressive tech. But due to the much smaller size of planets, it will always look off from orbit. In reality, you have a very clear horizon line. You would never see clouds going above this line. Here it looks like the clouds are reaching into space. Well, not much that they can do about it, other than making the planets 10 times bigger or something. But from the surface it looks incredible so far. And it only gets better from here, as shown at Citcon.
