Does anyone remember the rajnishis? They took all the homeless to their compound to clean them up and give them a fresh start at a good life…after they realized these folks couldn’t integrate into their commune safely they drugged them all, loaded them on buses and dumped them in town.

Addicts are not free in the truest sense of that word. Many will not choose any help that requires sobriety because they are a slave to their drug of choice. It is of no help to anyone to let them continue to be homeless addicts.

@@journeybrook9357 Get a room-mate, a better job or a cheaper zip-code. Camping 50 feet outside city limits isn't affected. The spot in front of the local business is a terrible place to act deprived.
@@journeybrook9357 Get a job. A minimum wage job is a starting wage for young people with zero work experience and was never meant to be a "living wage" or to support a family. Get more experience, go to college, trade school... learn a skill that's in high demand, negotiate your wage and yearly worth!!!

🤔 maybe a week in jail would be benificial. One will start withdrawing from substance. Medical help will be available. Asigned them to social caseworker to assist in follow up care,housing,substance abuse clinic to get " clean" , counseling to help regain self-worth and dignity.
If choose to return to street life one should work for tents,sleeping bags,etc.
This would be a wise use of our tax dollars and save lives.❤
So now we’ll have more here, next door to Portland. We need to get federal funding down to help homeless folks get off the streets.

Because they only get two years of transitional housing rent and then get kicked out. Then they put in another for two years from out of country. People from Philippines even. They don’t care and would put American out and only house foreigners if they could.
