I honestly think Phoebe was one of the most beautiful TV characters. Her kindness knew no bounds, I don't think I could ever do what she did, even the thought of having a baby for someone else makes my heart ache.
Her kindness? You got to be kidding me... as the series went on she became toxic to a lot of the friends, and always talked trash about Ross and Chandler

What about all the trash she always talks about Chandler and that Monica could have done better and she got mad at Ross because Ross did something hurtful....IN HER DREAM, her character developed into garbage, and her character in season 1 and 2 was good but then she became toxic. Although I agree that the Joey is the best friend that's always there.

Frank and Alice didn't seem very prepared at all, they had not been together very long, Frank was still in college ... and there is a high chance of having more than one baby through IVF.

Well, Alice is a lot older, so maybe they were worried she wouldn’t be able to survive giving birth. And babies come lots of ways! Sometimes people don’t know they’re pregnant at first, or accidentally become pregnant, but that doesn’t mean they won’t be good parents. The most important thing about being a parent is loving your kid and trying to do what’s best for them, and I think Alice and frank jr seemed to want to do that.

I think Phoebe is one of the more complex characters in the show ! She grew up with such sucky childhood and such and coped with it by living in dreams and convincing herself that reality isn’t always as it seems (one of these times is her arguement over evolution). she was shaped by it in such a way that her neglect taught her to never do that to anyone else, but she kept the ideals of being strong and blunt and “street”. It’s such an interesting combo
I agree. It's overlooked how that eccentric outlook is a way for her to cope with all the horrid things she went through. It's kinda ruined later when they introduce her parents and seems like it's just in their blood.

It was poor planning on the parents' part to not be prepared to have kids...when they literally went through the trouble of getting someone else to carry their baby in the first place. Like, what did they expect?

I may be exaggerating, but this scene bothered me quite a lot. On the one hand, this relationship never convinced me. Leaving aside the issue of age and the two illegal issues in their relationship (1. These two had to have had an inappropriate relationship while Alice was Frank's teacher, so that makes it illegal, teacher-student relationship. 2 If Frank is 18 years old now and they started dating or have some kind of romantic contact before, that means he was underage, which makes Alice a pedophile.) Both people have (or should, although they both seem to be equally idiots) different mentalities or ways of looking at life. The lady is already old, she should have other plans in mind, perhaps, vacations, a retirement plan, meeting people her age, etc. Whereas Frank should be enjoying his youth, studying for his career, hanging out with friends, dating, etc. However, for some reason he wasted that and married Alice, okay, what happened happened. They are already doing what they want with their life. They are in love and believe that they will last a lifetime together (although one being so old and the other so young they may have long-term problems due to different ideologies or because they got married so soon), it is their problem. What really pisses me off is that they are affecting the lives of these children so radically. Leaving aside that their mother could be their grandmother and their father their brother, the problem is that they don't seem to have the necessary money and Frank is still in school. They rushed to get married, but that's already their problem. But one thing is that and the other is bringing babies into the world without even having a plan or a source of income. The two of them must have thought of that. But hey, it's more justifiable for Frank who's young and stupid. But what about Alice? That woman is too old to do that kind of shit. Really, that when I think that it is difficult for them to be together because of the mentality issue, then I realize that they are just as stupid, well, they attract each other for some reason.

Yes, the circumstances of their relationship is very wrong due to environment they met and the fact that he was a minor, but just to state she's in the "grandmother" phase of her life is short sighted. Lots of women have children during their 40's and are not grandmothers until much later in life. My grandmother was 72 when she had her first grandchild. Not everyone has kids early. However, the way things were going for Frank Jr, he could be a grandparent by 36.
A RETIREMENT plan?! Are you a child thinking every middle aged person is old?! 🤦♂️
I did think their relationship was weird. I am 17, and I myself feel that someone about my age is literally a child compared to a 44-year old. Besides, Alice was Frank's childhood teacher. If it weren't for the latter's actor clearly being a good deal older than his character, their romance would have raised a lot more eyebrows.
i don't think it is up to someone else when two ppl with age differences has no issues and get along well. I am 19 and my boyfriend is 16 years older than me. I know its a huge difference but I don't mind it because we both don't feel that way. he is so childish, I am so mature so we are meeting at one point. I know it sounds "wrong" or "inappropriate" from outside but nobody knows how we feel about each other, how we spend great time together, how we support and help each other all the time 24/7. so it nobody else's business to criticize other peoples relationship buy just looking from outside
