I used to love this choke bit it stopped working for a while. These details like punching down with the lapel to pass it over made all thw difference landed it twice in sparring. Honestly man your content has been a god send during tje close to a year and a half of lockdown over covid here in the UK. First inspiring me just to get interested in grappling again and now im back training these detail oriented videos about ways to improve submissions or takedowns. Have helped me improve leaps in a short time. After nearly two and a half years from a disk injury I'm competing again in Manchester in August and in no small way your channel is part of the reason why i didn't just rollover and quit training so thank you!
Thank you Travis for your great videos! I used some of your moves in my judo training and they worked. And thank you for making videos in these "special" times. Keeps me motivated Best regards from Germany!
Just played around with this today, very effective, Ive struggled with that collar choke for years, that detail of pushing the lapel away at 45°c is a game changer and is something I've been missing. thank you 👍
Thanks so much, Travis. I've gotten that cross grip under the head SO many times, but I've only closed the choke against white belts. I think it was because I was using the standard four finger grip, and the angle was wrong. I'm going to try the two finger grip next time I roll (which is who knows when).
Travis Stevens..last week i bought your wristlocks from everywhere dvd off bjjfanatics and I just wanted to say its really impressive how many places you manage to set up wristlocks from i really like what im seeing as a fairly new blue belt in bjj mightly helpful stuff for me to learn how to wristlock my opponents/transition to better positions using wristlocks
Damn bro I would love to train bjj and judo with you! Hope one day to visit your academy in the US and share some knowledge. Respect bro you are one tough as nails individual. Best wishes from Italy
