    If this was today's Corrie, Stan would be the peeping Tom, then he'd end up battered to death in the back alley in a whodunnit, the killer would kill a few more residents then get killed themselves in a huge explosion.

    Love how Hilda showed support to her Stan. That Billy Walker was not sympathetic at all. We used to watch this show as youngsters in Christchurch New Zealand. Jean Alexandra is a very gifted actress.🤗🇦🇺🌏

    As far as vintage corrie moments go they was loads in the 70s i could pick from but this a belter this confrontation in the rovers with hilda especially with billy is an fave of mine class soaps these days have no idea lack of true characters for a start.

    Is it just me or were the morals of people worse in the 70s and early 80s? Well, going by Coronation St anyway. There seemed to be a lot more people fooling around even if they were married, and people not caring if someone was married, when they got involved with them. I think it has gotten a bit more conservative now, as strange as that may sound.

      I'm afraid you are wrong. Have you been living in a cupboard or something? Adultery and promiscuity are higher than they have ever been. Marriages on average barely last ten years. Marriage is declining and multiple partnerships on the increase as boredom and intolerance creep in. The internet has opened the flood gates with adult dating sites, casual hook-up sites for bored husbands and wives, and al manner of pornography and its offshoots, all at the touch of a mouse. Honesty, it's not hard to fathom, it's right in front of everyone's nose. The idea that ethical behaviour is much better these days is simply preposterous
