Dragging it out so bad that mediation was over a week ago & he still has not come back with a counter offer! Trail is set for less than 2 weeks. I filed October 19, 2019 & we do not have any children not separately or together. Even though he tried to get shared custody of my cat that he did not want & my fur baby is deathly petrified of him!!! They are ABSOLUTELY SO SICK!
My ex left a cat as a tool to get back in my house. Although I loved the cat I didn't plan on being home enough to take care of an indoor cat. I have mean barn cats and live out where there is wild animals. I had plans to go do things with my friends and start healing. She didn't give a rats _ss about him, only that he was a ticket in the door for her. I paid $50 to a no kill shelter to find him a good indoor home. He was adopted 2 days later. He was a super cat. Her ticket was gone. That may be one reason I have never heard from her. She was able to say I gave her cat away. I did contact her on a Wed. morning to come get him and she said she would. I didn't hear from her for like 10 hours and I knew it was her day off. So I asked her if she was going to get him or not? She sent me a message back and said maybe Sunday. I told her nevermind, I will take care of it. She sent me all kinds of messages about what was I going to do and why am I being like that....WHAT !?! I never answered her. Whatever she said about me and whoever she told did not matter to me half as much as being done with her.

Her and her Narcissist family decide they are entitled to my entire house. They foul up the agreements and then blame me. I realized there would be no easing any tension quickly when we agreed to meet and talk, then all that happened was she came into my house telling me how toxic this relationship was according to the friends she was talking to and nothing about actually creating an end to it and her getting her stuff out never even came up. She left angry because all I would say was "hmmm", "ok", "really". I ended up moving her stuff out and told her to never come back. Its been 3 years no contact now. It was easier because we weren't married but my thought is don't give them any say. Don't ask their permission. Put out how its going to be and let them be the one to object if they want to. Let them look like the screaming raging fool. Some of them will try to save face if they start feeling like their "look good" is looking bad. I know most people don't want to do a super public divorce but the more its in the open, the less they will like it. I have noticed they like to keep their abuse private. A public divorce sucks for them. It might suck for you too, but for me I am simply happy I got out of that shit alive.

He changed our divorce agreement so many times over the course of a year that by the time we came to our final agreement, it was EXACTLY the same as the first draft of the agreement--thousands of dollars worth of revisions and 12 months later.
Shame on your lawyer for letting it carry on so long. I certainly hope he/she suggested a provision that had your ex pay for wasteful legal services. What a nightmare. They weaponize the legal system against their former partners. Ugh!

So Sick 🤮 You have to watch for every detail with these slippery fiends. After a gruelling day we actually reached agreement at mediation, orders drawn ready to sign. His lawyer said we just want to do some tweaking, just a formatting preference it’ll be about 10 minutes. 3 hours later, long after hours they were still going, I said I’ve had enough I’m not signing anything tonight we’ll have to sign in the morning. Today I read through the new orders they’d done more than tweak it, the differences looked minor but changing a few words around changed the whole meaning, listed the wrong property title on the one I’m keeping and in the event of a default sale the clause where I get the proceeds was removed. His debt was taken into account in his payment but if he defaults I was not to be liable but that was changed around too. Even when you think your finally done they’ll still pull something shifty. Safe to assume their intent is never anything but malicious.

On several occasions when I have talked to my narc boyfriend about our relationship ending, because of his behaviors and lack of commitment to our relationship in general, he has threatened to destroy both my vehicles and burn down the house I own leaving me and our child homeless. I was in court with him once prior at end of 2014 and when 2015 started and it took me years to get over that trauma. I am a recovering alcoholic and have 3 yrs sober on 2/18/21. Honestly no, you being still is going to enrage him. But it is the BEST thing to do. Make sure you have a paper trail of everything he says, even if he wants to call you. Say that you prefer to text! Let the ball be in his court on how he responds to your stillness and calmness. Keep proof of all of his tantrums. And depending on the laws in your state, if you wish to speak on the phone with him, make sure the calls are recorded. Let him know that the calls are being recorded (he probably won’t go for it) but if it’s legal in your state to record phone calls without the other parties consent, then don’t tell him that the call is being recorded. Try your best to remain calm and almost having no personality or infliction in your voice when talking to him. No matter what he says that hits your gut and makes you cringe. YOU HAVE THE POWER! . It starts with you though.
@@kristajean3423 Highly recommend you get an email app like the Our Family Wizard app. It can be appointed by the courts if u ask your attorney to recommend it. Saved me. This way all parenting contact and coparenting info. can be centralized on this app and none of the emails or entries can be edited by ur manipulative ex. Organizes your evidence for you (via journal entries) so u can just send the files directly from there to your legal team. Best to avoid phone conversations to avoid the “he said she said” nonsense. Judges only care about the facts. Promise u this will save u time and headache 🤕. Was a game changer for me and worth the expense cuz I saved on legal fees. Good luck to you and your daughter. Ms Zung, You describe some malicious behaviors very well. I would like some more information about what to do when your opponent displays these indicators of malicious intent. How does one use this information? It seems the judges really are either blind or willfully unobservant. Perhaps in their eyes this is irrelevant. Although the law seems to consider intent in criminal cases, they seem to avoid considering intent in family court. How does one address this? I’m particularly interested in what to do with an opponent who won’t come to the table or tell you what exactly they want. Thanks
My husband is refusing to respond to negotiations. He responded once and then filed to go to trial. He won’t tell us what he wants but in the meantime he will sporadically send me texts with demands and threats and belittling me and reminding me I treated him terribly and that he left because of me etc (which wasn’t the story for the first 4 months - it morphed over and over again)… ugh it’s awful and I still cry almost every day even though we are coming up on a year since he left us.

I was belittled, humiliated, & berated by the judge’s tongue... When said, “I did not understand,” to the judge, she stated, “well, if you had an attorney, they would make you understand.” I need an experienced attorney experienced w/ malignant narcissists, in PGH, PA area.
Oh yeah, so sick. Mine got her meth habit brought out in the open, lost custody of all her kids, spent the next few months insisting she was set up, then got arrested for more meth, then spent the next few months attempting control over anyone involved with her. And she's still making demands. We're now a year into this situation and she's yet to accept reality; still thinks she's getting the kids back, even though she hasn't even looked for a job, has no place to live and is acting as though she's still actively on meth. We've yet to go to mediation, but I can guess how smoothly that'll go.

In my experience it only means something if its you doing something to the cops. I have also heard the cops talk about threatening posturing, but one time I said that to them about a neighbor that killed my dog and threatened me regularly amd the cops told me "there is no such thing." I called them out on it and asked why they use the term then? That cop said he doesn't. Oh. So I asked him if it was ok for the neighbor to continue to terrorize myself and my elderly mother by shooting outside her bedroom window at 10;00 at night. He ripped me about using the word "terrorize" because "thats strong language and you should be careful what you say." So I asked him of it was his mother what would he call it? He said if it was his mother it wouldn't happen. Hmmmm? I guess a "term or jargon" depends on who you are. Thats what I got out of that.

I also purchased and did the SLAY program. My problem is I can’t figure out any leverage at all with ex narcopath & custody. How to find leverage when nothing works?? I know Nex has prioritized not letting his current girlfriend know that he was always cheating on her and still connects with online dating to try to have more girls on the back burner. But I’m not the type to sling dirt and don’t care to get into that. For legal agreement it might help a little with my child but I’m not convinced that will help my child long-term for what narcopath might do next in private when my child has no advocacy. If that were me, and he put that out there first thing, I’d say: “ok. We respect that you don’t feel prepared or supported enough without your dogs to discuss anything else today, so, let’s whip out our calendars and reschedule for a more comfortable time frame when you might have an easier time staying focused on the goal at hand, shall we?” But I’be got a bit of an edge ;o)

I never got "negotiations" . The court documents "Claim" we negotiated and agree, seriously, I even submitted a settlement offer to his attorney when I had to fire mine of 4 months. After working 2 weeks on this most presentable email as instructed since pure hearsay won him favor of the stupid Judge. Isn't that illegal?
It's taken me longer, so consider yourself lucky if you got a reasonable settlement. For me the divorce process has taken five years, eight months, and two weeks as I count the final days to Victory and Freedom.⚖️

I did the gray rock with my lawyer till I wanted him to give up keys and let me in! That did not work. My lawyer joined forces with him, and had me sign off ownership without my knowing what I was signing.... Then narc came after me to TRY and sue me for all his lawyer fees. If we are true children of God we do all we can to resist temptation, do good where we can, and do not throw pearls before swine. In the "do gooder" society we want to believe we grew up in many of us were taught to believe there is "some good in everyone". The Little Shaman and Surviving Narcissism are excellent channels for people to learn the manipulations and risks of committing to a person with a potential "shadow person" hiding in the background. You only talk about people dealing with a narcissist through a divorce or a custody battle. They are other ways that people deal with a narcissist in their lives. You need to talk about a narcissist as a whole
Not everyone needs to go to court with a narcissist. People need help knowing how to deal with narcissists of all sorts (ex husbands/boyfriends, their children's other parent, a co-worker, boss, etc...)

I was in court with him once prior at end of 2014 and when 2015 started and it took me years to get over that trauma. I am a recovering alcoholic and have 3 yrs sober on 2/18/21. I'm up against horrendous odds.

Honestly no, you being still is going to enrage him. But it is the BEST thing to do. Make sure you have a paper trail of everything he says, even if he wants to call you. Say that you prefer to text! Let the ball be in his court on how he responds to your stillness and calmness. Keep proof of all of his tantrums. And depending on the laws in your state, if you wish to speak on the phone with him, make sure the calls are recorded. Let him know that the calls are being recorded (he probably won’t go for it) but if it’s legal in your state to record phone calls without the other parties consent, then don’t tell him that the call is being recorded. Try your best to remain calm and almost having no personality or infliction in your voice when talking to him. No matter what he says that hits your gut and makes you cringe. YOU HAVE THE POWER! . It starts with you though.
@@kristajean3423 Highly recommend you get an email app like the Our Family Wizard app. It can be appointed by the courts if u ask your attorney to recommend it. Saved me. This way all parenting contact and coparenting info. can be centralized on this app and none of the emails or entries can be edited by ur manipulative ex. Organizes your evidence for you (via journal entries) so u can just send the files directly from there to your legal team. Best to avoid phone conversations to avoid the “he said she said” nonsense. Judges only care about the facts. Promise u this will save u time and headache 🤕. Was a game changer for me and worth the expense cuz I saved on legal fees. Good luck to you and your daughter. My mother I have told her and her husband I'm recording call and they become enraged, hang up and badgered me about it later. You describe some malicious behaviors very well. I would like some more information about what to do when your opponent displays these indicators of malicious intent. How does one use this information?
It seems the judges really are either blind or willfully unobservant. Perhaps in their eyes this is irrelevant. Although the law seems to consider intent in criminal cases, they seem to avoid considering intent in family court. How does one address this?
I’m particularly interested in what to do with an opponent who won’t come to the table or tell you what exactly they want.

My husband is refusing to respond to negotiations. He responded once and then filed to go to trial. He won’t tell us what he wants but in the meantime he will sporadically send me texts with demands and threats and belittling me and reminding me I treated him terribly and that he left because of me etc (which wasn’t the story for the first 4 months - it morphed over and over again)… ugh it’s awful and I still cry almost every day even though we are coming up on a year since he left us.
So sick! I can’t wait to get away from my narc. He’s starting to catch on and just agreed to put inherited property into his sister’s name. His dad just died yesterday for Pete’s sake and they are already talking money and selling everything while I’m asking how the relatives are dealing with the loss.
My last court date w/ my ex narc was horrible. Already wasted $1500 on a piss poor attorney, and decided to represent myself to expunge a false PFA. I was belittled, humiliated, & berated by the judge’s tongue... When said, “I did not understand,” to the judge, she stated, “well, if you had an attorney, they would make you understand.”
I need an experienced attorney experienced w/ malignant narcissists, in PGH, PA area.

Mine got her meth habit brought out in the open, lost custody of all her kids, spent the next few months insisting she was set up, then got arrested for more meth, then spent the next few months attempting control over anyone involved with her. And she's still making demands.
We're now a year into this situation and she's yet to accept reality; still thinks she's getting the kids back, even though she hasn't even looked for a job, has no place to live and is acting as though she's still actively on meth.
We've yet to go to mediation, but I can guess how smoothly that'll go.

In my experience it only means something if its you doing something to the cops. I have also heard the cops talk about threatening posturing, but one time I said that to them about a neighbor that killed my dog and threatened me regularly amd the cops told me "there is no such thing." I called them out on it and asked why they use the term then? That cop said he doesn't. Oh. So I asked him if it was ok for the neighbor to continue to terrorize myself and my elderly mother by shooting outside her bedroom window at 10;00 at night. He ripped me about using the word "terrorize" because "thats strong language and you should be careful what you say." So I asked him of it was his mother what would he call it? He said if it was his mother it wouldn't happen. Hmmmm? I guess a "term or jargon" depends on who you are. Thats what I got out of that.

Agreed settlement was on 1/7; however, ex narc hasn't signed it. He's even ghosting his lawyer! I've shared with my lawyer about you and your S.L.A.Y. program and that it now has a section just for lawyers. It's soooo frustrating.

I know Nex has prioritized not letting his current girlfriend know that he was always cheating on her and still connects with online dating to try to have more girls on the back burner. But I’m not the type to sling dirt and don’t care to get into that. For legal agreement it might help a little with my child but I’m not convinced that will help my child long-term for what narcopath might do next in private when my child has no advocacy.
So I’m back to square one I can’t figure out any leverage against this extreme tyrant who absolutely has to control every single detail & all the other things like moving goal posts, doesn’t care about our child but uses him for DV by proxy, which the court does not care about.

If that were me, and he put that out there first thing, I’d say:
“ok. We respect that you don’t feel prepared or supported enough without your dogs to discuss anything else today, so, let’s whip out our calendars and reschedule for a more comfortable time frame when you might have an easier time staying focused on the goal at hand, shall we?”

I never got "negotiations" . The court documents "Claim" we negotiated and agree, seriously, I even submitted a settlement offer to his attorney when I had to fire mine of 4 months. 3 years to get a divorce from ex narc.
It's taken me longer, so consider yourself lucky if you got a reasonable settlement. For me the divorce process has taken five years, eight months, and two weeks as I count the final days to Victory and Freedom.⚖️
My narc made it IMPOSSIBLE to work with him, refusing me access to joint owned property for my own appraisal (non bribed, manipulated report). I did the gray rock with my lawyer till I wanted him to give up keys and let me in! That did not work. My lawyer joined forces with him, and had me sign off ownership without my knowing what I was signing.... Then narc came after me to TRY and sue me for all his lawyer fees. Im SURE he was trying to tell people that 👉I👈 was the one who wasnt budging on things.

You only talk about people dealing with a narcissist through a divorce or a custody battle. They are other ways that people deal with a narcissist in their lives. You need to talk about a narcissist as a whole
Not everyone needs to go to court with a narcissist. People need help knowing how to deal with narcissists of all sorts (ex husbands/boyfriends, their children's other parent, a co-worker, boss, etc...)
