She Wants Revenge
The fact that this song is overshadowed by Toxicity, Aerials, Chop Suey, and others shows just how good SOAD has always been. Because to me, this is their best song.
Not only that but it's IMO their best album. For me 'SOAD' followed by 'Steal This Album'. The rest are whatever, I like them but the two I listed are head and shoulders above. I will say though 'Deer Dance' is one of my favorites from them.
Same. This and chop suey are my top from them
I totally agree! I LOVE ALL SOADs albums and songs but Damn, this one ALWAYS gets me pumped, psyched or sad depending how I feel at the time ... Very FEW bands/artists can evoke such feelings. 🔥🖤🖤🖤🔥
It is man, no freaking doubt!
I like Hypnotize and Toxicity more. Propably a taste difference, because rationally thinking I can see this is just as good, but this just isn't really as much of what I like to listen to.
Serj always sounds like he's casting a spell/orchestrating a symphony. Sounds so powerful and occultist yet metal. So beautiful
"Words Are Spells"
Let's examine the word "words"... rearrange the letters to make "sword"... Words can cut like a sword... Not physically, but mentally/ spiritually...
Using words in a certain sequence can be phenomenal, given the structure is perfect, and the timing of mood with whom you're conversing with...

@@MathieusTheWalkingWitness very well said. I think most people who study the occult/wiccans know that words can cast spells as well. They are powerful. His voice is fantastic!!!
His range is ridiculous also and your exactly correct I feel the same about his voice it's something about it that captures you

Ah, Spiders, we meet again. I'd argue that this is one of the, if not the best song on this album. It's a masterpiece.

@@jeromecaldwell7152 >lots of slipknot and korn
Isnt that abuse?
serj's voice did got old tho... he sounds no way near like this nowadays... a shame
@@andralfooVoices do age yes, but this is actually not the case with why Serj sounds different, some people have the same voice after years and although Serj's talking voice did change a little, his Singing should be the same as he has his moments where he sounds like nothing ever happened. Here an example ruclips.net/video/xPW6jdKHPOw/видео.html for 20 seconds straight he just sounds amazing. The reason he sounds different today are that he doesn't really feel it as much as back in the day where he was all into it, and most importantly his Normal Singing, he does a thing I don't know if its a technique but lets just call it technique it's called Nasal Singing. It is a big help for singing and for reaching high notes but it sounds horrible. Vocal teachers teach you how to get out of the nasal singing and teach how to reach the notes without relying on that technique. So all this leads up to Serj needing to get some Vocal training. But as I said I don't think he is into it as much as he was, so he doesn't really care :/ his new singing style fits for the last 2 albums of SOAD and especially works for his solo career, but for actual singing and everything else its very very bad. Even with nasal singing I hear him sounding pitchy a lot so that's another evidence for him needing to get some Vocal lessons.
2024, who is still listening to this song? You are an absolute legend.
Edit: thanks for the positivity! I wish every #soad fan the best and keep listening. Make this band timeless!

2022 & there still isn’t a band remotely similar or comparable to these guys.
I dont know if it's just me, but SOAD gives me this rasta preachy vibe mixed with heavy metal. It's a very unique genre. But nevertheless extremely addicting. Theres so many interesting nuances in their records, such a constant repeating of phrases, yelling phrases for emphasis, the switch from low to high tempo very rapidly, it may sound dumb but alot of these things are unique to soad and not really replicated

+The King Flobots is like them. Just not as rock...ish. More rap like.
+McScizz Well that's not totally true. Avenged Sevenfold has done many many songs which are not "generic" metal. If you think they have a generic sound, listen to A Little Piece of Heaven, Save Me, Dear God, Unbound, Lost, Sidewinder, etc. Slipknot has done some interesting tracks like Iowa, (515), Vermillion Pt.2, etc. I can't really speak for Disturbed since I don't listen to them. And I don't consider BB to be metal, even tho I love their stuff. And all those bands have meaningfull lyrics, even tho they aren't political

Rediscovering a lot of bands I took for granted in a downward spiral. Soad is not for the masses. That’s why music was beautiful at this time, it seemed artistically driven.
It's realy the highlight of the track, but in the video I think it's a mistake that the singer makes this "psycho face" and it's not the highly emotional moment I picture in my head. It takes me out of the mood. The aesthetic of the clip is beautiful tho.

Yes, everyone interprets things differently. Sometimes, though, some people tap in to a vibe...an emotional truth. Songs speak to us through more than their lyrics. Hell, I'd argue that while lyrics are vital, they are really just the adjectives that describe the emotion of the song itself.
That "BEFOOOORE!" IS that same rage you couldn't express. Serj has surely been there.

I agree with your comment, that both Tool and SOAD are unreal. They are a level that other bands can't reach. I wouldn't go as far as to say SOAD is better then TOOL. Such a powerful voice. This song is really emotional
The piercing radiant moon,
The storming of poor June,
All the life running through her hair,
Approaching guiding light,
Our shallow years in fright,
Dreams are made winding through my head,
Through my head,
Before you know, Awake,
Your lives are open wide,
The V-chip gives them sight,
All the life running through her hair,
The spiders all in tune,
The evening of the moon,
Dreams are made winding through my head,
Through my head,
Before you know, Awake
Through my head,
Before you know,
Before you know I will be waiting all awake,
Dreams are made winding through her hair,
Dreams are made winding through her hair.
One of my many favorites.
My fav..
2017 proves that system never dies and there is much more ahead
Matheus Nakagawa 2018
Such a masterpiece
I dedicate this song to all of the spiders living in my room.
I dedicate this song to downing a bottle of benadryl DPH

I remember first hearing Serj’s vocal Melodie’s and being confused by them but now they give me chills! I love how Soad is just the best blend of genres! No one does it like them.
This is art...
I fucking love art
+Mountain Jew You said exactly what I was about to say
+Mountain Jew You're beautiful :)
+Mountain Jew oh boy, serj [the singer] opened a museum recently, not sure where.
SiliconBong I like your name haha although I prefer glass over silicon ;)
+Mountain Jew Yours better I think xP
The way of how Serj can control his voice and makes it fit with the song is one of the hardest things to do. In my opinion his voice is very hard to cone like it because its very rare and it catches anyone who hears it. One of the best rock stars in the whole world. I love his voice very much.
can't wait to see a 1080p hd soad music video someday!
Serj Tankian ahh Hi Serji
FunFactory ! hey wassup
Serj Tankian, what album is this song (spiders) off of? I want to buy it, but can't find it.
Justin Lockert self titled album System of a Down
Well one will probably come in 2017...
Never.
Gets.
Old.
I still remember the fist time I saw this. No internet back there, no cellphones, I didn't even had a computer. Only late night TV. My parents couldn't know though. I had like, six or seven TV channel options. Then I found it. I was scared but amazed. His voice was godlike.
The other day I went to school, and as I didn't know the name of the song and the band, I only talked to some friends, but none of them knew about the band. So I was certain I'd never hear about it again. But then came the internet. And all the misteries of my childhood no longer exist. I've managed to find every song and movie I'v watched back then and thought I'd never hear about again. While it was handy, it's a bit boring.
You have good memory :)
Hold onto it
+Minami Kyon "I still remember the first time I saw this. No internet back there, no cellphones, I didn't even have a computer". Only late night TV. Lmfao, dude the song was made in 1999 m8 not 1979 chill with the "I'm so old" bit. (His voice is still god tier though :D)
Kuso.... why did I read your comment thinking it was actually going to end at a point being made??
~_~
Internet people....
+Mass Furry Genocide You realize some people didn't have that in the 90s?
Joker I know most didn't have these in the early 90s, however I didn't doubt that he/she as an individual had or didn't have these things. If you actually would've thought about my comment before replying, I was saying that there was a such thing as the internet, computers, cellphones, and they were actually very popular, where as in his/her comment they said there were "no such thing back then".
Makes me cry sometimes
Same
Serj lyrics are so deep. A sign of a good composer.
@Um Cara Aleatório Qualquer System Of A Down's lyrics were almost 100% Serj.
Toxicity and StA are 50/50 between Serj and Daron. Mesmerized/Hypnotize is almost 100% Daron. This song is definitely written by Serj
Mmmmmm that's deep bro

Serj's voice in this album hadn't quite reached the more skilled, refined and polished sound like in toxicity and beyond. But, there's so much more emotion, feeling and quirkiness to it in this album. It's a shame they'll never sound like this again.
truuuupR our boy sounds like squidward now
@@notafed6556 hahahaha!!
Yeah it's a bummer.. Rip system
Exactly what you describe is what makes that my favorite album. It’s so raw and bad ass.
Always torn between crying due to the sheer beauty of this band and wanting to kick someone's ass due to their fury.
Your a true Sensei!
Fury?? Ok haha this is entry level you poor soul 😅🤣
@@nicholasmisiak4724 we dont want to traumatize this simple soul.
@@somerandomdude4438 ah finally someone with a brain that doesn't just listen to the crap shoved down their throat haha if only they knew what was (to quote SikTh) "behind the door".

Это шедевр, больше нечего добавить
This is my new favorite tool song
😂😂😂😂😂💀💀💀💀💀
😂😂😂
Fuck I'm laughing and crying
It's not a Tool song if it's not 3x the length of an average song
this is my new fav comment
I didn't realize just how great SOAD was until I revisited these songs 15 years after I first heard of them. They didn't deserve to get lumped into all of the other shitty nu-metal bands that came out at the time. They are so much more than that.
I agree they were way above Korn and Slipknot probably the only band close to them is disturbed.
Lukas disturbed? SOAD is on par with Tool, a progressive genius! Not Disturbed! Just my opinion tho!
@@y2j1490yahoo Personally I don't think Disturbed come close, but I do remember some bangers from them for sure. Used to listen to them on my paper route along with Megadeth and Audioslave
@@coriemulvey2580 agree
Truth.
Words will never describe what this masterpiece does to me, the best vocals on any song ever made.
I feel you there
this is actually the best music video i’ve ever seen i love it sm
.... Have you seen Pearl Jams-Do the evolution?
I remember falling in love with SOAD when I was 15yrs old. They'd just released Chop Suey and I could not get enough. They were instantly my favourite band. Over the years I've had plenty of favourite bands and then 5+yrs later changed because it was no longer cool or downright embarrassing (hello Spice Girls 😅). But for almost 20yrs, they're still my all time favourite and not one shred of embarrassment. Literally, still listen to them every single day and all the non popularised songs either. SOAD forever.
🤟
why would you ever be embarrassed about what type of music you like to listen to? Fuck what people think.
wait- you are a soad fan AND the spice girls????????? How duh fuck does that work doh :P
remember when SLT opened for SOAD. so sick !!!!

@@brandonwallace1725 because edgy teenage years and early 20's were like that for many of us... I was not "allowed" to listen to any other music but the one I was labeled with otherwise I was bullied by my friends. For example I was always a so called "metalhead" so hiphop, jazz and electronic music were forbidden for me even though I loved them. Then I grew up. But the truth is many of us suffered from the fear of people's reactions if we dared to be different than they imagined and we just simply could not say "fuck what people think".
Love how they built up so much energy into the solo and then just carried it until the very end. Incredible.
quería escuchar este disco cuando estuviera en una mejor etapa de mi vida, ahora estoy aquí... su voz y su ritmo es tan joven como el día en que los conocí
