  • Richard "Rick" Allen is asking the judge in the Delphi murder case to suppress an October 2022 interview with investigators claiming it violated his rights. Allen made some statements that a jury might find damning about the evidence and his whereabouts on the day Liberty German and Abby Williams were killed. Law&Crime's Angenette Levy and retired homicide detective Fil Waters look at Allen's claims and the statements in this episode of Crime Fix - a daily show covering the biggest stories in crime.

It's disgusting how badly the dropped the ball. I knew something was eerily off during the anno7ncement of the arrest. It's because they knew how pathetically they went about this. They sat around for years claiming not to have ANYTHING to investigate. And they didn't thoroughly dig into a man that was at the scene for no reasonable reason?

    • @WestVirginia1959

Richard Allen described his clothing just like the man called Bridge guy was wearing as he walked toward Libby when she was recording him. Richard Allen is within a mile of the murder site as the crow flies and near the middle school where the girls attended. If they had been walking toward the bridge from the middle school they would have passed his street.
Richard Allen is only not quite 5'4" tall, and about 5'6" in boots.
Both girls were 5'4", so he probably would have needed a gun.
      He looks like Bridge Guy.
I live on a lake in West Virginia where we have the same hills and valleys and temperature as Delphi.
You don't look for fish from a bridge 63 ft down to a creek in February! That is laughable.
Delphi is a small town of 3,000, so if you have people out in the woods when the leaves are off, the denizens would be talking about them, and they were not.
      Remember-
"If it looks like a duck, walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it just may be a duck".

The police did recover the clothes, or at least the jacket, that he wore that day. Not only did he admit he owned clothes very similar to that. He said that was what he was wearing that day. Also I believe family members did corroborated that it looked like his clothing.

Those are the confessions the defense wants thrown out. The confession that he shot them in the back was likely the newest confession to another inmate… to say “look it’s a false confession “..they weren’t shot. But what did he tell his wife and mother? Obviously something that occurred at that crime scene. That is why they want it suppressed.
