This will sell very very well for Toyota, I still wish they offered a simple V6 model in the line up, but they obviously are done with the V6 which is sad, the V6 was smooth and so reliable. This will definitely be insanely successful for Toyota and they know it so they offer the non-hybrid because the hybrid is such a bottleneck for production, evident by the fact that Siennas are so hard to get. Thankful to see your review, Matt. This may actually realistically be a car I may consider buying. I think the normal Highlander would likely do, but maybe the bigger one would be nice. As I get older I’m transitioning more and more into wanting comfort.
You need to update your video. Not all hybrid models have that nice gear shifter. The regular XLE version of the hybrid doesn’t have it. That would have been nice. You got me excited.
For me it would be CX90 if I needed two rows with an occasional third row and this or Pilot if I needed three rows regularly. All three seem like really good new vehicles.
It needs features like 4 zone climate control, 4 way lumbar, power tilt telescope wheel, lounge chairs heated 3rd row seats. A sienna offers most of these yet the GH doesn’t and the GH is significantly more expensive

I appreciate the review. But grand highlander is missing a lot of features to call it luxurious. even with max platinum, it still missing that top feeling. No adaptive suspension, no step boards, no folding mirrors, no inside led lighting, cheap material to touch and rear seat on premium is the same as base. Only good thing is that 362hp. Waiting on TX to come out. $10k more is better.
I don't think any of the Grand Highlander's competitors offer any of those things you mentioned, and those are minor details anyway. The stuff I focus on are big features (like the rarely offered cooled 2nd row) and padding around the touch points and knee areas.
I have the GH hybrid max and it does have remote start. Press the lock button on the fob three times and hold. Most reviewers don’t mention this for some reason.
Can you talk about the way the thin, unsupported and unembossed hood up by the windshield flutters and vibrates..... which produces a visual 'strobe' effect when the sun is shining onto the hood? You cannot help but miss it, and it is VERY ANNOYING.... I found the seats to be uncomfortable - not nearly as nice as the Telluride we ended up opting for...... Drivetrain on the standard 2.4 turbo is just 'ok' for slow driving..... has very little pickup when you floor it at highway speeds....almost unresponsive. And, the little 4 cylinder is noisy as hell.....The liberals have neutered the auto industry for sure. Vehicle is way overpriced for what you get....and the 3rd row seat is no larger than the Telluride, Pilot, or Atlas...... and the headroom there is not good.... head is right up against the headliner unless you are a very short person. Hard pass.... not nearly as luxe feeling as the Telluride.

I enjoy your reviews, for your impartiality among other things. So...are you now sponsored by Toyota? You've become awfully kind when reviewing them. To me feels like it started after you visited their TX headquarters.
Lol no I’ve never been paid by a car company and if I was I’d legally have to disclose that it’s sponsored at the beginning of the video. I’m always 100% honest in my reviews. Just last week in my Sequoia video I had lots of complaints for example. The Grand Highlander genuinely impressed me more than I expected it to, and I really liked it. Toyota’s just been firing on all cylinders recently in my opinion. 3 enthusiast vehicles, all with manual transmissions, a 300 hp plug-in hybrid RAV4, the Prius is now cool and actually quick, etc.
What a great review. You answered all the questions most would buyers have.

Whoa I applaud Toyota for the execution and that pricing is really competitive 🎉❤
The fact that it can almost break into the high 5 seconds to 60 while almost weighing 5000lbs on top of getting 27mpg combine is impressive
More like the low 6s
Because the GH hybrid max hasn’t gone below 6 seconds yet.
