True. Which is also what the government does when you vote. Before there was social media there were (and still are) dossiers of every voter and how they voted. Ever ask yourself why they constantly encourage people to go out and vote without regard to who or what specifically? THAT'S the reason why.
IMO those pods have become too big, its a quirk in tech timing that a 50+ year old stoner in Rogan can platform incredibly dangerous people that without the tech would be mumbling into walls on the edges of society, where they belong.
That's a good idea. Sam, this is from someone who has been a part of your “audience” since “The End of Faith.” I’ve listened to you for a long time. You have changed, and I don’t mean that in a good way. The quality of your thinking has gone down. I’m not referring to WHAT you think. I’m referring to HOW you think. You have become very arrogant and impervious to constructive criticism. (Maybe you’ve always been this way and I failed to notice). An example of that is you dismissing out of hand the “elitist” charge in your new Substack column. What you fail to realize is that people are actually being polite when they use that word. Your problem is worse than that. I pray and hope you grow as a person. You haven’t stagnated in your growth, you’ve regressed.

The fact that you see it as a "sweet moment" should be an indication of how immoderate your position has become. I am not a TSMC worker but I am a Taiwanese citizen with a university background in economics. It is not as simple as just setting up TSMC plants in the USA or anywhere else. Taiwan is THE cluster/centre for production of high end chips. It is an incredibly complicated ecosystem that actually relies on many other suppliers as well. To recreate this would be exceedingly difficult. That is why no where else has managed to (South Korea is arguably the closest or most advanced outside of Taiwan). Yes, TSMC has been pushed to set up a plant in the USA but that is utterly reliant upon many things (including engineers trained in Taiwan) being sent from Taiwan.
That complex ecosystem extends around the globe. There are custom manufacturer that combine top scientific and engineering minds with specialists manufacturers all around the globe. TSMC is a critical node in that web, no doubt. But I do fear that we have come to depend upon a fragile web that is utterly dependent upon global access to technology. The bronze age collapse was arguably caused by the loss of access to tin. We now live in a world with scores of 'critical infrastructure.' We are not resiliant against rampaging armies or local revolts in any number of locations.
@@shishkabobby You are right that it extends around the globe to an extent but really only about 5 countries are absolutely critical (the Netherlands where ASML machines come from, Germany for lenses, Japan, Taiwan and the USA for design). Cuban does a really good job selling Harris. While I agree that Trump's existence is enough to vote for anyone else, it's well worth it to promote Harris and her genuinely good candidacy.
She’s the weakest nominee in years. Always goes back to her “grew up in a middle class family” talking points when confronted with even the easiest questions, flip flops like crazy, and clearly doesn’t respect the constitution. She never would have been nominated in an open primary. Neither of these people deserve the office.

Well, I was not going to vote at all. No way in hell I was going to vote for the narcissistic dictator-wannabe, but I have been so disappointed with the Democratic party I couldn’t find it in myself; I almost wanted them to lose as a lesson for them, and they certainly deserve it… But I thank you both for making the case for Harris, and reminding us of what Trump is. Worst case scenario, whatever she does wrong, can most likely be reversed, hopefully. At least she IS normal. The capacity for damage, the unpredictability, are simply limitless. Too much at stake to stay home. Thank you
I just can't understand this sentiment, it makes zero sense to me, assuming you understand that Trump would most likely be worse for America than Harris. I guess I get it on an ideological level, but my problem is that you let that override the practical consideration. You're refusing to make a choice. But practically, that is a choice. It's a choice that helps one of those two candidates. So in the end, you still end up voting for one of those people, even if you didn't vote. You voted to have the choice made for you.
I completely agree. People don't realize how influential his show has been, for good or bad. He is one of the reasons Elon Musk became such a media personality. His show is kind of like fashion - it starts out being on the edges and then the ideas on there become mainstream but the general population doesn't know where things started. If Kamala Harris had agreed to the interview, maybe Joe would not have given a ringing endorsement of Trump. at the very least. I think his podcast became dangerous after covid and his obsession with culture wars. Millions of young men listen and believe every word said on it. I think in the last few weeks, the Harris campaign really should have bombarded his show with guests like Cuban. Whether tariffs are good or bad depends on how they are implemented. For example, you can pass a tarif for security reasons, but it won't help the economy, and we shouldn't lie about that. Or you can pass a tariff to protect businesses, but you also have to pass something that offsets the rise in costs. No matter what you do, don't lie about it. In general, tariffs aren't good for the economy.
@@Stfugb2s Sam is one of the few people who points out the flaws in both candidates and saw Kamala as the lesser of two shitty options. If republicans had chosen a reasonable candidate who actually listens to experts, we'd be in a much better place. Kamala's campaign was horrible at explaining anything that matters and focused on identity politics rather the economy during this tough time. But Trump winning doesn't mean he's good for the country. Trump tariffs, for example, are 100% bad for the economy. If he actually does that, everyone will suffer. Prices will skyrocket and businesses will die. Dropping the FDA, education system, social security, medicare, etc would also be horrible moves that mostly just make his voters lives worse. The phenomena which seems like political suicide is just tapping into people wanting a straight talker and someone relatable, someone like themselves, an imperfect person calling out the stiffs. This is the way forward from now on, you can see the Rojan episodes as a confirmation of how politics has changed. the years of politicians only ever admitting to smoking once during college while secretly hiding scandal and vice is over.
A straight talker, someone just like themselves, describes Trump how? He lies proveably, blatantly, and in contradiction to himself within single sentences. He was born rich, making more money by the time he was 8 than 75% of the adults in the country do now. He never had to get a real job and was consistently bailed out by his rich daddy everytime his businesses went belly up. How is this being a straight talker or being anything like the average person?

From someone with a dog picture to another, 🙂 *"such as that Trump may literally be the biggest liar in the world, to be unhinged and emotional."* I don't know about either the unhinged or the emotional part, but I'm confident we are on the same side. Ok, so, logically speaking, it would appear someone has to be the biggest liar in the world. But, seriously, Sam, you want us to pretend you've done the calculus. Yes, I'm willing to concede that Trump seems to have few inhibitions against lying. But seriously, are you pretending that Kamala (and even more so Tiananmen Tim) has the slightest inhibition in the same direction? Are you serious? Does *anyone* believe her when she claim's that Biden was on his game or that he ran circles around his staff?

You ok hun? 😂
Sam, I don’t agree with all your perspectives, but that’s part of what I appreciate- you always make me think deeply about key issues. Thank you. And thank you Mark Cuban!
This was an amazing program. So grounded.
Crazy how Mark helped inspire a generation to vote Trump.
Trump 2024!
He repeated what Kamala said when questioned about Ukraine. I'd expect the BS from her, but Cuban can't be this deluded and ignorant to think Poland is next.
Glossed over closing the boarders to focus on deportation.
I feel like some of Marks answers in defense of Kamala’s poor responses to questions were just as dodgy as Kamala’s. Why can’t these people just admit they made mistakes.
Crazy how Kamala isn't asked to explain why her views on things like immigration or identity politics have changed at all, let alone actually denouncing any of the views or policies. It's enough to simply not talk about them suddenly.

Did you hear Vance on Rogan pretending he knew nothing about banning women going out of state for abortions only for there to be audio of him suggesting the policy a few years ago.
I'd be more concerned about these guys trying to control the bodies of American citizens. What do you think about that?

Surely you don’t think he would change his mind based upon the opinions of millions of people he doesn’t think smart enough to be informed before they cast a ballot?
No. I have it from reliable source that the Holy Ghost came upon him and healed his TDS. Yes! SAM IS HEALED !!! A miracle! Hallelujah! Sam has joined the flock. He is in prayer right now. Mark say's 'most American's have a good heart'. If by 'most' he simply means over 50% maybe he is right.
Maybe a good heart, but most are without any ability for critical thinking.
The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing Sam Harris that God doesn't exist...!
Great job Sam; I saw how you crash Ben Shapiro with facts.
Lets Go ! ! Trump 2024 🇺🇸✊🏻
Beautiful succinct discussion of policy positions and critiques.
I asked my Microsoft AI what Sam Harris thought about the election. The AI refused to say anything about that topic. Someone please comment here.
Sam is becoming more and more irrelevant.
I'm curious why Republicans are against abortion unless it's their daughter or mistress??
Why do you say Republicans like they are all 100% anti-abortion. Most of us just want common-sense rules, like a limited but fair period to stop aborting babies (12 weeks like most other countries) and most are good with all the caveats. If dems would propose serious legislation that isn't Tim Walz's up until birth nonsense, then you would see movement.
@EarlyRiser71 Math is Math.. Unfortunately I can't account for every variable. The fact is that the vast majority of religious Republicans support national laws based on their beliefs.. Anyone who believes that the universe is a few thousand years old shouldn't be allowed to decide what to have for lunch let alone legislation affecting others.
@jayvincent1865 yhere isn't a vast majority of religious anybody anymore. Yall are falling behind on this.
@EarlyRiser71 there is no such thing as "up until birth nonsense". Roe v Wade's limits were 21 to 24 weeks.
Trump simply kicked it back to the states, which is by far the most common sense position given that it's such a sensitive issue.
Anyone who feels so strongly about it can move to a state that supports their view on life - and you can still rally to have those state laws changed, which is much more realistic than wanting federal change.
What a clown Sam is
Did Sam lose his words? Or did he lose his mind? Or is he just resting? Or is he in confession?
I love you for pointing out the obscenities of religion so well.
Give us more horseman style debates please, or monologues is just fine 😊
How's does it feel to be on the disconnected elitist side Sam ?

@WickedIndigo I am a Libertarian who voted for Trump. My background is in economics. Every Libertarian I know voted for Trump as well. When we weighed our options we saw Trump as more intelligent.
So I have some questions for you.
Why is it so difficult for you to pick up an economics book and read it? I've read hundreds upon hundred I lost count. How come every single Democrat I have asked can't even name 3 economics books. Nearly all couldn't even name 1. Your side is so uneducated that we looked at Trump as being the smart one when compared to your side. Your side is so stupid it makes Trump look like a genius. Libertarians oppose Trump and Republicans. But your side is so uneducated and filled with brain dead zombies that we actually started to rally for Trump. How on Earth did you push us Libertarians to do that? You pushed us to vote for someone we don't even agree with just because the other side is completely mentally challenged and some how incapable of studying economics even to learn the basics like supply and demand that i shouldn't have to be explaining to grown adults.
I think Sams on LSD right now coping…
Sam is too experienced to take LSD in his present condition. That would almost guarantee a horror trip. But maybe he tries MDMA to make himself feel a bit better. In a proper dosage it might even cure his TSD. If not, let's get ready for 4 more years of Trump bashing.
37:35 **Mark said that it takes three years for non-citizen resident to become a citizen if they choose to serve in the military. That is incorrect. How long have you been planning this? Will it take longer than six months to go from the inception of this idea to your status as citizen?
@shishkabobby really depends. I've been planning it for a couple of months but I can't start the formal process till bootcamp starts. I'm about to give my physical and aptitude exam and then take it from there with my recruiter.
From whay I've heard it's pretty streamlined and if I pass my english/civics exam..I could naturalize before I go to tech school

@@petermuller6359
Ok, you and I are on the same side here, so let's not go too far down this rabbit hole.
But *"It"s a fraction of the minority that voted for Harris."* and your data backing that up? Do you listen to Sam much? Do you recall his video titled,
I probably agree with most of Trump's politics, in fact. Do I think we should have a secure border? Absolutely. Do I think we should be harder on China? Yes.
Do I think that much of the left is in the grip of an insane moral panic? I do. Do I think the phrase defund the police is one of the stupidest ever uttered? Of course. Do I recognize that globalization has produced many casualties in our society? Yes. Am I in favor of onshoring much of our supply chain and energy infrastructure? Yes, I am. Am I appropriately humbled by our misadventures in Afghanistan and Iraq and now skeptical of our ability to do anything like nation-building? Absolutely. All of this significantly overlaps with Trump's policies and with the political concerns of his supporters.
*"Half the county signs up for Sam's lunatic form of TDS? Anything to back that up?"*
Just theseemingly reasonable hunch that hardly anyone who voted for the Dems the other night would not come close to admitting what Sam did in that first quoted sentence?
And then there is the absolute lunacy of trying to draw parallels between Trump and a fascist. Ask anyone making this claim to even define the term and way more of them will struggle (with defining fascism) than even this numbskull who can't even define the word she just used.

I listened to Sam with an open mind, but I found his arguments, such as that Trump may literally be the biggest liar in the world, to be unhinged and emotional.
From someone with a dog picture to another, 🙂
*"such as that Trump may literally be the biggest liar in the world, to be unhinged and emotional."*
I don't know about either the unhinged or the emotional part, but I'm confident we are on the same side.
I would say literally - let me emphasis *LITERALLY* no one believes her on that or *myriad* other claims. She has no more of an internal filter or internal prohibition against lying than Trump.
So, here I am willingly taking Sam's claim and examining it and saying is he correct. Maybe, but I see no evidence that Kamala would refrain from lying when she imagines she will benefit from doing so.
Sam, take this challenge seriously. Could you drop the partisan propaganda? Yes, Trump has and will tell lies. So will Kamala, with seemingly no more restraint than Trump. And Tiananmen Tim might be in the big leagues all by himself.
@ not just that but Trump lies about crowd sizes or how something is the “greatest we’ve ever seen,” which we all know is exaggeration for effect. Harris lies about the mental fitness of the president when it’s her job to intervene when his mental fitness has been compromised.
Sam is coping so hard rn
