A lot of people don’t realize , you can put heat on your hair regularly without it being damaged . As long as you know how to take care it while it is pressed & how to properly prep and straighten your hair. I was one of those people who only straightened my hair once a year . Then I was like man .. I like switching it up lol I wanted to be able to wear my hair straight whenever I wanted . So now I blow my own hair out and silk press it once a month or every other month , and my blowout lasts a week as well. Never get heat damage, I’ve pressed it 4 times last year and twice this year , as well as colored it twice last year . My hair is healthy , curls is poppin !!! Don’t let anyone tell y’all that we can’t do to our hair that “other women” can . Because yes TF we can lol as long as you do it properly !
Thank you for saying this. IMO it makes no sense to have hair that you can’t have fun with. It’s fun to switch things up.
💯, 🗝 word being properly. I taught myself via practice how much heat to use without heat damage = 250° + wrap is all I need. If you take your time, starting with the lowest amount of heat & gradually increase as needed, you'll find out exactly what temp. YOU need. I personally don't like bone straight because I love my volume. Melanated woman can do whatever we want with our hair with *proper* care.
I've done everything to protect my hair from the heat, but I still lost my curl pattern.
See, a stylist knows how to revitalise a hairstyle. I would have a bun on day 2😂😂😂

@@aren8484 yes. I do too. Sleeping on a silk pillow (do not wrap hair) will help your hair not to sweat. And following the steps above will definitely work.

Self-adhesive rollers are a lifesaver. My short pixie silk press lasts a month. And good products are paramount.🙌

So heres the thing, how to keep your hair pressed and looking good when you sweat and go to the gym 6x a week?
A high-quality keratin treatment will do that. A low quality one will not. You'll also be able to do the silk press much faster, and it will strengthen your hair against breakage for longer growth. Great for natural hair because it smooths but isn't a chemical process like a relaxer. You'll get a quick-drying wash and go that's a longer, looser version of its regular self, and easy smoothing/straightening with minimal heat and no frizz/shrinkage. Uncurly.com

Mines can go more than a month. I wrap it. I cover my hair and use an umbrella when raining. I don't add any product to it. I don't exercise heavy, especially with my hair out. I put on my Satin scarf along with a shower cap and bonnet when showing. I will pin my hair if I put curls in my hair or wrap it if I got more of a straight style with a bump at the end.

I gave my titanium flat iron away. It seemed like no matter how much heat protectant I used, I got heat damage. 😔
Titanium is not healthy.....ceramic is the way to go. It doesn't scorch the hair like titanium.
