The protein daily value percentage on the label is completely wrong. Given the FDA daily value is 50g, a 23g protein meal should bring it to like 46%, not 2%.
They also used the wrong meat. Shepherd's Pie is made with lamb (I think mutton might qualify in a pinch). If made with beef it becomes a Cottage Pie (why not Rancher's Pie?). And yeah, skip the vitamins and minerals. In all probability most of your ardent viewers can read. And it doesn't say what they are sourced from, so it's unclear if they can be absorbed by the body.
In this economy nobody is gonna pay almost $6 for a frozen one portion meal. You could easily buy ground beef, potatoes, cheese, make this yourself and have enough for 2 weeks with each portion costing less than $6. If I want to splurge on something extra I'm going to eat out not buy frozen microwave food.
I think it's absolutely fine to skip the vitamins when you're talking about nutritional information. Getting into vitamins would make that part of the video take twice as long, when I just want you to get into how the meal tastes. Besides, the part of the nutritional information that you've traditionally covered is mostly the things that people are trying to limit in their diets. The question of "does it have too much sodium?" is way more important than the question of "does it have enough Vitamin C?". The former question means maybe you shouldn't eat that meal at all. The latter question means it's fine to eat, but maybe you should also eat an orange or drink a glass of V8. I say stick to talking about what people are looking to limit in their diets, like you've always done. That's what people really need to know when they're deciding whether or not they should try that frozen meal.
Fat CARRIES flavor, it is not flavor. If something has good flavor it doesn't need a lot of fat, just enough to carry the flavors. Fat by itself is tasteless.
Fat might equal flavor but... the monster tacos from jack in the box i had the other day were soaked in it. It was good but it sent me to the toilet. They were horrible.
Love your honest reviews and hearing the nutritional data. Probably won’t be buying those chef inspired meals and you saved me pulling out the packages to read in the store. Thanks!
you would have to bake it. It would never be as good inthe nuker. but it looks pretty bad. But considering how many bites yout ook it must have been something.
You could skip all the ingredients and nutrional facts. There's a pause button on RUclips for those that want to read that stuff. I vote, get to the review faster.
If anyone is that concerned about the nutritional content, they can look at the box in the store or online. No point in wasting the people's time with that nonsense unless there's something crazy in there!!
I think the "dollops" are for more even cooking. If it was a solid thick layer of taters then it might not cook as evenly or as quickly. But thats just a guess, you'll have to ask Gordo himself for the real answer. And it's still too damn expensive.
You tell me all I need to know before you open the box,,,, THE PRICE. If I like it, I don't care about any nutition, it's all about the TASTE, as you would say !
It’s an absolute must that you check the internal temperature of your microwave dinner with the cleanest finger or thumb you have available at that particular time😊
The fact that Gordon Ramsay has called people out for calling a dish a Shepherd's Pie when it doesn't contain lamb and yet allows this to be sold as a Shepherd's Pie with ground beef is laughable. He even corrects someone and says that when it's made with beef it's actually called a Cottage Pie. SMH
Too expensive for a small serving . I make my own , two baking trays at a time , enough for 10 generous servings . Search for the video cottage pie on crack .
I think that people should pause the video and read the nutrition facts and read it themselves if they really want to know them. People who want you to read the whole thing are lazy.
$5.94 at Walmart? This swill is way overpriced, we're paying a lot more for someone's name on the package. Also, isn't Gordon Ramsey quite hateful of using Chef Mike?

COTTAGE PIE!!!! DAMMIT, my biggest pet peeve. Sheppards pie-LAMB
Cottage pie-BEEF.
Absolutely 💯 agree
The flavor ISSSSS quite good 🤤 but it’s like a sloppy stew. Maybe over a biscuit it would be better 😊
Thanks!
Too much money for too little food.
you would have to bake it.
Love your videos wolfpit been watching you since you made that bologna sandwich with the cheese and mushrooms.
I personally don't want to hear the vitamins and minerals in every review. It's just too much for me.
Misleading label! That is a Cottage pie not a Shepherds Pie. It is not made with Lamb!
It’s an absolute must that you check the internal temperature of your microwave dinner with the cleanest finger or thumb you have available at that particular time😊
And if you promptly yelp *ow! Dammit!* it's done. XD
@@SarafinaSummers😂😂😂
The fact that Gordon Ramsay has called people out for calling a dish a Shepherd's Pie when it doesn't contain lamb and yet allows this to be sold as a Shepherd's Pie with ground beef is laughable. He even corrects someone and says that when it's made with beef it's actually called a Cottage Pie. SMH
Yep Gordon's a Doughnut for calling that a shepherds pie it has no lamb so its a cottage pie
No one temps pre cooked frozen food. It's just on the label to avoid suit in case of contamination.
Having it named after chef Mike would've been more authentic
You don't need to read all of the nutritional details. Anyone who wants to know about that can do their own search.
Mr Wolfe pit. That shepherd pie looks awesome!! If you like it,Gordon's going to make a mint! Love your videos 📹 keep up the great work 👍
Thanks 👍
As far as shepherds pie goes, it looks awful... On the other hand, as a cottage pie, it works.
"Looks like a home-cooked meal" Sorry Wolfe, gotta agree to disagree on that one.
Glad to see you uploading more and no I do not check the internal temperature.
I thought it looked edible out of the microwave. I wouldn't pay that much but if someone else is buying, I'm eating 😋😊.
Best frozen meal of 2023?
Most of the people should be able to read for themselves . If not sorry bout your luck
My local super market, ShopRite, has prepared and refrigerated shepherds pie for $9. They are big enough for 4 meals each and are very good.
Oh wow!
We all know that's cottage pie!!! Lamb is in shepherd's pie...you know...shepherds?
Frozen dinners are not for people who have or want to take the time to shove a thermometer in their food.
As a Englishman with a Italian dad I would definitely use cheddar over parmesan in a cheesy mash
Gordon is cashing in for retirement to sell out and put his name on tv dinners
Those people can pause and look at the nutrition information.
Too expensive for a small serving . I make my own , two baking trays at a time , enough for 10 generous servings . Search for the video cottage pie on crack .
Also , they freeze perfectly well .
Marco Pierre White would not approve.
I'd just as soon not hear any of the nutrition facts.
The pic on the box isn't the same as the dinner
I've never once checked the internal temperature of a frozen dinner.
If it's beef, its a Cottage Pie, not a Shepherd's Pie.
I think that people should pause the video and read the nutrition facts and read it themselves if they really want to know them. People who want you to read the whole thing are lazy.
nah we just like to listen to Larry talk
$5.94 at Walmart? This swill is way overpriced, we're paying a lot more for someone's name on the package. Also, isn't Gordon Ramsey quite hateful of using Chef Mike?
I don’t want the vitamins. I can read.
I really enjoyed this one too. The flavor was very strong
Great video...and I must say your pink nails look absolutely divine!
Oh thank you!
I wouldn't eat Gordon Ramsays garbage "food." I wouldn't feed my cat that stuff.
it should be in a smaller diameter container to have the mash thicker
Ramsay has always been the King of Pranks. This is no different.
Perfect thumbnail pic.
No Don't do vitamins and minerals
The only reason they use cheddar instead of parmesan is because it's CHEAPER.
TRUE!
