Hang out with me as I unbox my HIMI 24 Color Jelly Gouache paint set and share my first impressions! You may want to watch this video before purchasing so you have a clear idea of the product you'll be receiving!
Note: the morning after I opened my HIMI gouache paint set, I found that one of the side snaps would not stay closed. A thin film formed on the top layer of some of the paints. Since then, I have been spraying the paint with water before closing, and securing with box with a rubber band.

Gouache is a new medium for me and I'm finding water-based paints to be quite humbling! It's like pouring water onto the table and trying to force it into a perfect square. Not going to happen.

Himmi gouache is acrylic colours or water?
Hi Aamna, the HIMI jelly gouache is a water-based paint. I do not believe the binder contains any plastic like acrylic. If you water it down it acts like watercolor, and if you leave it really thick, it applies more opaque like acrylic. It dries flat and matte. It is re-activated with water, so it doesn’t form a skin and layer the same as acrylic does. I hope this helps!
