Jadeja And Jonty Are From Different Generations That's Why Their Comparison Isn't Worth It, Both Of Them Have Done A Tremendous Job In Their Respective Eras,
In Case Of Rhodes, He Is The Father Of Modern Fielding, So Comparing Him To Any Other Fielder Is Worthless
And In Case Of Jadeja, This May Offend Someone But He Is The Best Fielder Of The Post Jonty And Ponting Era, He Can Do Everything
      Diving Catches
      Quick Reflexes Catches
      Jumping Catches
      Running Catches

He was a wonderful fieldsman, and everyone is entitled to their opinion, but saying he is "undoubtedly" is more than a bit too much. Ponting and Jadeja are believed by many, including myself, to be better all around fielders, That's just opinion as well, but the fact that those opinions are held by a lot of people means we really can't say Rhodes was "undoubtedly" the best.

@@inamngqeketeRhodes took 105 ODI catches. Ponting took 160 catches. By your own measure you're completely, hopelessly wrong.
And total catches is a stupid measure, being a product of games played and catches generated more than a player's catching skill. But even if we pretended it was what mattered, Ponting is 55 ahead of Rhodes.

First of the great fielders was Colin Bland of South Africa. Then there was Clive Lloyd of West Indies, both magnificent in the cover point and mid wicket regions hitting the stumps nearly every time. Then came this fella, Jonty Rhodes. He was like a fish out of water, taking catches horizontal from the ground and his hitting of the stumps running batsmen out was extraordinary. I do apologise I forgot to mention Derek Randall of England who was in the same mould as Lloyd & Rhodes, brilliant fielder.

In one of Alan's deliveries, the following happened.
Alan Donald steaming in, delievers the ball, the batsman hits the ball and Jonty is on the ground having taken a spectacular catch.
I recon this happened in less than half à second.
I did not even see the ball.
I did get to see Jonty play in several other games and he was a delight to see fielding at baçkward point.

So we went to Kingsmead where Rhodes for Natal made a good score against Western Province ..later he fieldes and i was unlike anything I had ever seen.in terms of speed across the turf , anticipation and acrobatic catching. He built up a huge local following with fellow cricketer/rugby player Errol Stewart who was similarly athletic.

Can never definitively say who the best fielder is or was. What we can definitively say is that Jonty is a candidate. Along with Andrew Symonds and Paul Collingwood etc.

There will always a dispute for who is the best batsmen or bowler or keeper or captain. But when it comes to to fielding, Jonty Rhodes is unanimously and undisputedly considered to be the best.
No one can be matched or comparable to Jonty

For hitting the stumps.. Ponting was better. But for diving and catching balls, run outs as a whole.. Jonty was better.

Grew up watching him. Whenever someone used to dive, we used to call him Jonty Rhoades.

I watched Jonty walking off a hockey field bouncing the ball on the end of his stick which was vertical, remarkably he was chatting to one of team mates and wasn't even watching the ball.

As a West Indian, I have to say Jonty was the best. This man made my blood boil countless times with his superb fielding. 😂
Cricket would not be the same without him.
