Vishwanath is a brother in law of Suni gavaskar
GOAT fast bowler
@@Skunkman-w5x yeah
@@CricketStories007 even his stats confirms it.
"Thompson was the first bowler to reach 100mph" - I think you mean the first bowler MEASURED at 100mph. Look up Frank Tyson, there's a good chance he was first...
The numbers would have read much higher provided we had good slip fielders and a better wicket keeper. He was lonely until the likes of Agarkar, Zaheer, Mohanty, Prasad, etc took limelight. Being the strike bowler, Indian bowling attack mainly depended on spinners. Those who are talking like experts here claiming he had no control, bowled short etc, have no idea about this legend. Respect the legends who contributed to our national team.
Yeah
Gorden Greenidge is my second favourite batsman next to king Viv love that square cut
🔥
Extremely intimidating. So scary when I was a teen ager and keen follower of the game. But heart full of respect !
He was one of the best
Greatest Indian Fast Bowler ever ...Period..let down by poor fielders, corrupt players and Bad PR
Please do not cause a division, respect both men for their skills
I agree. Jeff Thompson's technique was not the usual round over arm method that is commonly used by speed bowlers. His method was the catapult or sling method which generates and imparts tremendous velocity and power to the ball. Hard to be accurate however. Im surprised he didn't do himself serious injury like wrenching his arm out of its socket!! In my school days, I knew a bowler who had a similar action but more of a sideways sling. Very , very fast and if you connected to bat, the ball went far.
Then we fired back and they cried. Lol smh
not only a great player and captain a gentleman as well x

Legend ❤
Yeah
As a boy from New Zealand during the 1980's, it was always so entertaining and exciting to watch Hadlee bowl, you knew something was going to happen before long, and the suspense was thrilling.
🔥🔥
I remember Thomson winning the World's Fastest Bowler competition in 1979. His quickest delivery was just over 147 km/hr. Imran Khan came in second at 142 km/hr. Thommo clearly wasn't as quick as he was when he bowled in Perth in 1975 when he hit 160km/hr. Many players say he wasn't as fast after his 1976 shoulder injury.
Yeah, the shoulder injury slowed him down
Viv scored more than the whole English team in this match.
Yup
Kohli once stated about Richards "Imagine scoring all those test runs without a helmet".
Yeah
Pakistanis are born fast bowlers even without help from authorities kids just come and show that they have skill in their arms.
7 year old me was up watching this late in the night 👀
🔥
I would donate a kidney to see my west indies play even as half as good before I depart this earth.
They were out of this world
Not better than Kallis
I am blessed to have lived to see live and in person the greatest tweam of all time, the West Indies, back in the 70s at Quens Park Oval. Lloyd, Haynes, Greenidge, Richards, Holding, Roberts, Garner among others. If you love the greatest Cricketers of the 70s era, smash the I❤West Indies button for 6. 👇
What a great video, and what an absolutely amazing story about what Sir Viv Richards did on that day. Wasn't that when Botham said he would make the West Indies grovel? Well Sir Viv certainly showed him!
Thank you man
My favourite period of cricket, the 1980s. Superb players in most teams, iconic players, super fast bowlers and courageous batsman, who played without helmets.
