It was a shameful incident but it was inevitable that somebody would try it, if it wasn't Chappell it would have been somebody else. With cricket becoming more of a business than a sport captains study the laws of cricket like lawyers trying to find a loophole to get a mistrial for their client. Many took the view that if something wasn't written in the laws of cricket then it must be legal, there were many such incidents back then, the ICC was very busy amending the rules and it still continues to this day.
How about the direct link to where the "ICC rewrote the laws"? As you'd be aware, at that particular time, different competitions had their own Playing Conditions (not laws). For example, what was legal in Australia at the time, wasn't necessarily legal in the Playing Conditions in England, or vice-versa. Sounds like yet another Indian page making Australians yet again, out to be the bad guys.
Me making Australians the bad guys? Bro there was a huge outrage after this incident. And you can go and search when was underarm bowling banned by ICC
Playing within the rules at the time is hardly worse than Indian spot and match fixing. So not really crickets darkest day. And saying about Sneddon's catch "television replays show it was clean" What pixel are you looking at. The footage is too grainy to show the actual catch and there does seem to be some sort of bobble happening under his hands. I just watched it like 20 times and I can't see anything amounting to a clean catch but it does look bobbly at the bottom of the hands. It kinda looks like it bounced into his hands
@@evonjohnson4078 You don't award trophies mate. Australia has the receipts. India doesn't. Fact is when these trophies were on the line. India couldn't step up. The silence at Nahendra Modi Stadium was deafening. Champions don't lose 0-3 at home to NZ India have some champions but they are far from a champion team. One of the major reasons Indian fans give for their losses, is that India are a team of champions who put personal statistics above the team. And to say Australia shouldn't play anyone else. Australia kind of invented Test, ODI and international T20 cricket. Australia was there the day each had its first ball bowled. I'd say they have a right to play everyone. On the other hand, India will probably forfeit he next ICC trophy by not even attending the tournament. They expect other teams to travel to the UAE and no other teams want to. So India will simply forfeit.
@@bobhawke7373 I did not say that Australia didn't have their receipt. All I said is, "To me" India are the champions. I am not in the position to award anyone a trophy.
Hey Cricket Lovers🏏, what would you like me to cover next?
Do one on how Ganguly was controversial from your Point of view.
"Your cricket analysis is fantastic-keep up the great work, and looking forward to more amazing content from you!"
Thank you so much 🔥
How many years has this been? Keep it going!!!!
How ironic is that, when Australia and New Zealand attempted the same thing again, but in a humorous light in their first T20 in 2005
Yeah
Never fails to entertain and deliver unbelievable cricket facts love you bro ❤

Alot of realy bad calls back in thoses days from players and umpires
Yeah
My personal belief is that Australia should play only England and vise-a-versa.
Why so?
Australia are test and ODI champions and will play whoever they like.
@@bobhawke7373 To me, India are the true champions and you can't convince me otyerwise.
