  • Just How GOOD Was Shane Warne, Actually? | The Greatest Spinner Ever.
    Shane Warne is undoubtedly the greatest spinner of all time in the history of cricket. Warne was the first man to take 700 test wickets and ended his career with 1000 plus international wickets. But exactly how good was The Wizard Of Spin, Shane Warne? Let's look into it.

    Hey Cricket Lovers🏏, Who do you think was better? Shane Warne or Muttiah Muralitharan?

      Why are you asking to compare between a leg spinner and an off spinner?

    GOAT Spinner. Absolutely no debate. Shane Keith Warne revolutionised spin heights to a new level. Absolute huge prodigious spinner of the ball. The cricketing world changed with his larger-than-life presence. The world misses you Warnie. Rest in peace, King.

    What an amazing cricketer he was, and sadly missed. Everyone will have an opinion on who's the greatest spinner (Warne, Murali, O'Reilly, Underwood, etc etc), but I just appreciate his genius and influence at a time when spinners (especially leggies) were almost treated like a red-headed step child by some captains. Even the great Abdul Qadir averaged over 30 in Tests!
    My favourite story about Shane Warne was when Rodney Hogg at the end of his career played against a very young Shane Warne in a club game. He made the extraordinary prediction in his newspaper column that Warne would take 500 Test wickets, at a time when I believe Sir Richard Hadlee had the most Test wickets at 431. Hogg was then sacked by the newspaper. 🤣

    Look at his stats against India. Even tailenders in India relished to face him. No doubt he was great. But that was attained mostly playing against England, S A, New Zealand etc where top class footwork against spin is very much lacking.

    Bill O'Reilly was slighly better.Played against a stronger England batting side than Warne.Also O'Reilly averaged 16.30 for New South Wales compared with Warne's average of 34.62 for Victoria.He didn't trouble Australian batsmen like the Waugh brothers,O'Reilly caused Bradman trouble.

  • @nickchandra4890

    Muralidharan is the greatest spinner ever not Warne. The two of them were the top two. Numbers don't lie. Would you argue who was the greatest Batsman? Bradman or Tendulkar? There is no comparison. Hands down Bradman. Look at his numbers. Warne had a lot more opportunities against England bunnies. Just check what Murali did against England when he got the opportunity. He would have relished several more matches against them to decimate them. He would have been closer to 1000 wickets if he played the same number of tests against England as Warne. It is tough to bowl against subcontinent batsmen as they grow up on spin but Murali got Tendulkar out many times. These two guys are almost equal so let's celebrate both . The Australians tried to finish Murali's career. He stood up to the test. He always bowled in a short sleeved shirt. They were both geniuses who pushed each other to greater heights.

    • @nickchandra4890
      @nickchandra4890 Месяц назад

      @@rrao7963 supported by McGrath and other strong bowling attack playing 5 match series. Murali was the better match winner doing it on his own most of the time playing a test or two test series. Batters could try to block him knowing they could get runs from the other end. Numbers don't lie. Most 10 wicket hauls, most 5 wicket hauls, strike rate etc. In 50 years they will look at the numbers and judge who was better. He was the Bowlers Bradman. Give me Warne's match winning statistics. He didn't need to get the openers. Murali had to get the wickets from the openers down. Numbers don't lie.
