Brian Lara is a wonderful, wonderful batsman to watch and is right up there with the best of the best. Stats alone cannot begin to rate how good a batsman he was. The thing about Brian Lara was,he truly entertained the crowd, even when he was playing a defensive stroke was awesome to watch, people who truly love cricket and know about batman ship will always choose Brian Lara as being the best batman the world has ever seen.
SACHIN TENDULKAR ENTERTAINED THE CRICKETING WORLD FOR THE FIRST 12 YEARS WHICH EVEN LARA CANNOT MATCH.HE ENTERTAINED THE 150 billion people with his dominant batting prowess against top bowlers even lara was not able to do that in the 90s what sachin did
Brian has a test batting average of 52, that's not even in the top 10 of all time batting averages. Bradman had a test average of "99.9" per innings. Lara not even close to best ever. Laughable.
@NatureNomad61 Bradman did not have to face the types of quality fast bowling that entered the cricket arena from the 50s onwards. One fast bowler,Harold Larwood, cut his batting average in half, what do do think would have happened if Bradman had to confront 4 fast bowlers? He certainly would not have finalised career with 99.
SACHIN TENDULKAR IS THE GREATEST BATSMAN OF ALL TIME.HE HAS MORE MAN OF THE MATCHES IN THE 90S ERA THAN BRIAN LARA.LARA IS ALSO A GREAT BATSMAN.BUT SACHIN IS THE GREATEST.RECORD SPEAKS
There were some phenomenal batsmen around during Lara’s time.. what set Lara apart, imo, was his ability to react to the situation of a game or to someone sledging him and just take control of it.. in that sense, he could impose himself on a game and change the flow like a fast bowler does when he gets angry or fires up for a brutal spell.. and once Lara got in that mode, it felt like the opposition was virtually powerless to do anything about it.. even those great Australian attacks were like side acts a couple of times when Lara decided it was all on his shoulders or when someone said something to piss him off.. not many, if any, other world class batsmen were in that same mould where they could just flick a switch and bully and demoralise a bowling side like Lara could
Bowling is good now, easiest decade is 2000's, look at all the batsmen averaging over 50.Very hard in 70's to 90's.I remember in the 70's 150 was regarded as a huge score,Randall's 174 at centenary test is pretty standard now.
Lara's greatest match was in 1992/93 when he scored 277 runs. He was on track to breaking the record for the most runs in test cricket when he was unfortunately run out trying to sneak an impossible run. In that inning, he didn't give any chances. All shots were on the ground, through the gaps. This was incredible!
There's no comparison between Lara and anyone else, not even Sir Vivian Richards. Each player, like every individual on earth, is uniquely different. Tendulkar, has his own uniqueness When we seek to compare people, someone gets short changed. Lara, having the extra pressure of carrying the team single handedly, must be considered. Yet he performed with such poise, ingenuity, brilliance, and courage. This has placed him in a league of his own.
Lara was true legend. He did not played for any individual records he played positive cricket all time in specialy whenever team was in critical situation. He hit sixes whenever he was close to century.
@@MAKelly2121 Bradman played when there were just two good teams and all others were minnows on just two different kinds of pitches in England and Australia. Not much of variety in bowling and fielding was shit and it was a gentleman's game. Only one or two great bowlers he might have faced. Can't think of too many all-time greats he faced either. Just one series where the bouncer was used a little more, his average dropped down to less than half. I am not belittling him. But surely the most overrated cricketer of all time. I am sure he might have averaged in the high 50s or lower 60s playing now. Moreover, there is so much variety and competition now. This is what brings down averages not just quality. Not that he was not great. But surely not incomparable. I am not West Indian. I am Indian. But I would certainly rate Viv Richards the greatest player of fast bowling and Brian Lara the greatest players of spin bowling. I am not an expert. But I sure know cricket. Seen enough of it across all eras. The best all time test side would be that of the west Indies closely followed by the Australian all-time best side. Only white men think that he is the greatest player. Not anyone who is unbiased. Honest opinion.
One is great right hander and the other great left hander but for me Viv is the best batter. See his videos without helmet he is batting next level shots what mind blowing strokes. Tests and ODIs he was goat in both formats. No body comes close to Viv. TechnIque wise Gavaskar was best opener as he needed to dig in against quality bowlers playing in an avg team but overall complete dominant game was Viv something else...
I admire Sachin Tendulkar technIque and stroke production. His records might be broken but when in full flow his batting was delight to watch! WI batters are dynamic for sure but Ind batters captivate me with their elegance and class. So easy to the eye.. happy watching...

I love your compilation and the way you analyzed The greatest batsman of all time, you're spot on in your closing summary ,Lara is way Better than Sachin, entertaining too.
While Sachin was technically better,Lara was scarier for Australia.Tendulkar just scored skillful 100's against us that didn't hurt Australia as much as Lara who scored big, fast scoring 100's.
To score runs fast that means you’re putting away good balls for boundaries, that’s great technique, n it wasn’t slogging either , it was classical shots , so technically you’re incorrect, what I can say though is Lara took more risks cuz he was an entertainer
Lara is a king of cricket he is above all modern cricketer frankly speaking he is a genius more architecture than a Tendulkar , but if you leave not to mention from the Indian fan ,I mean not to count by the Indian fan ,but from the others cricketing nation Lara is number one , Sachin is no match to compare Lara , but those who say about Tendulkar mostly they get benefits from Indian cricket team which is richest cricket body in the world rather than praising Lara knowing they will earned nothing from the carribbean country which is poor cricketing nation
Lara is an all time great for sure, a pure genius....in terms of talent , Sachin and Lara was on par, but what took Sachin ahead was his dedication towards the game. For Lara, playing cricket was part of life , For Sachin, Life was cricket and only cricket. Lara would party the whole night before the test match, walk in at no.3 next day and score the most beautiful hundred ever or play the most casual shot ever and get out cheaply... With Sachin, he would be mentally batting on that 22 yards 2 days before the match. This took Tendulkar ahead of Lara ,
Sachin was technically more sound, but Brian Charles Lara was bigger matchwinner. I'd rather watch a Lara ton than a Sachin one. Having said that, great players both men!!!! #Legends
India prepared there pitches flat good for batting lara scored all over the world he never wanted to play the weeker teams he loved to play against australia england and south africa
SACHIN IS THE NO 1 BATSMAN.SACHIN HAS MORE RUNS AGAINST THE STRONGER OPPONENTS THAN LARA.SACHIN FACED THE WESTINDES QUICKS WHICH LARA DIDNT FACED.IN INDIA THERE WERE NO FAST BOWLERS TO PRACTICE WHEN SACHIN STARTED PLAYING CRICKET FOR INDIA.YET HE DOMINATED ALL THE WORLD FAST BOWLERS IN 90S ERA MUCH MORE THAN BRIAN LARA.IN 90S SACHIN WAS NO 1 BATSMAN AND THEN THE OTHERS.DONT POST WRONG INFORMATION
Sachin Ponting, Inzamam, Kohli, Smith, Root and Kane Williamson all score or have scored regularly but no one bats with more beauty and dominance than Lara. Lara's defense is a sight to behold, after spending 30 minutes at the crease, there is only one leader on the field and that is Lara. Lara never seemed to be serious about his career or statistics, if he had been even a little serious about his career, he would have been the greatest of all time indisputably. Another thing is that he never got a team to support him in his career, maybe he could not think like everyone else.
Lara is better because only the fact than he’s considered one of the best while playing on a losing team who always put the pressure on him. He did it alone and all his records are against first class teams
My Favorite cricketers, and batsman, great man, I'm a west Indian, I like both cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, and Brian Charles Lara, However, i gave Brian the edge Over Sachin, reason is He scored more Double centuries,
Lara was capable of playing anyone, anywhere, anytime. He dictated terms while at the crease. Everyone raves about his stroke play and elegance which is, of course, unparalleled. In my view, one of his greatest innings was against India at St. Lucia test in 2006. Lara was so restrainful and scored a slowest century in the 4th innings to force a draw from a near certain defeat. If one wants to witness Lara's concentration and his ultra defensive side, his batting in the 4th innings would put even Dravid to shame on a rank turning track. Nothing is more aesthetically pleasing to the sight than see Lara play a defensive stroke with a 360-degree backlift.
In my opinion the greatest test batsman ever. For the most of his career he played in a team in misery. If not his average and the performances would have been much much better. Undoubtably the most lalented batsman I have seen. He is the finest artist when it comes to the art of battting. Can watch him for hours and hours . It never gets boring.
It’s difficult to choose between Lara and Tendulker both should share the number 1 spot. What I like a little more is that Lara can take complete control of a match when batting and guid the team to victory
I am a Jamaican but Brian is the Prince of cricket so he can't be the greatest hes the second greatest behind the king the great the most honorable sir Sachin Tendulkar
Allan Donald talks abt Sachin ,Lara ,Steve waugh in an interview in 2009 , I had been watching Sachin Tendulkar on and off before we (South Africa) were readmitted in 1991. Everything about him is just so exceptional. He is wonderful technically and he has everything - class, speed, all the shots, and he is cool under pressure. Cricketers always talk about his amazing balance, even the Aussies. I've seen tapes of Sunil Gavaskar and if you split the screen between him and Tendulkar, they look virtually identical. I have never seen a man with such immaculate balance - it is freakish. People go to a Test match just to watch Tendulkar. I, for one, would rather watch him than bowl against him. Actually, I'm glad I'll never have to bowl to him in a Test match again, though I've been quite successful against him. He is No. 1 in my book - the best player I have ever had the privilege of bowling to. There's Steve Waugh and there's Brian Lara, who was wonderful in 1995, but Tendulkar is a class above, consistently special. The best knock I can remember him playing was at Newlands in 1997, when he was just unstoppable. We only got him thanks to a blinding catch by Adam Bacher off a hook shot, otherwise he would have gone on and on. Under Hansie Cronje we studied hard for a Tendulkar weakness. We thought he might be vulnerable, especially early in his innings, to the ball that is bowled from wide of the crease, coming back in off a good length. He might then be bowled through the gate, or be lbw, especially on English wickets. We also tried peppering him with short balls - not many top-class batters like that - but it didn't really seem to bother him. The one thing that might rattle him is being restricted. He loves scoring, and scoring quickly, and if he is frustrated, sometimes he goes out and looks for the big shot. I don't think he really gets rattled by sledging. Glenn McGrath tried it and Tendulkar just kept running at him and hitting him back over his head for four. I think that, like Steve Waugh, sledging just makes him more focused: I don't think it is a good idea to have a word. Tendulkar is already a legend so I'm not sure how he'll be remembered - what comes after legend? . He's the best in the world, one of the most magnificent players there's ever been.
Who do guys think is better, Sachin Tendulkar or Brian Lara?

Brian Lara is the greatest batsman of all time !!!
There were some phenomenal batsmen around during Lara’s time.. what set Lara apart, imo, was his ability to react to the situation of a game or to someone sledging him and just take control of it.. in that sense, he could impose himself on a game and change the flow like a fast bowler does when he gets angry or fires up for a brutal spell.. and once Lara got in that mode, it felt like the opposition was virtually powerless to do anything about it.. even those great Australian attacks were like side acts a couple of times when Lara decided it was all on his shoulders or when someone said something to piss him off.. not many, if any, other world class batsmen were in that same mould where they could just flick a switch and bully and demoralise a bowling side like Lara could
Lara was so beautiful to watch..when in form he plays all the shots in the game..
No one is really greater than Brian Lara,he is a true champion of the world.
Yeah
Brian Lara is Messi in the game of Cricket.
lara is the greatest, he made his runs off the best bowlers in history, nowadays bowlers is a joke
Yeah!
True Legendary Champion of Cricket Game . Prince of Cricket Brian Charles Lara
Lara is a genius and his game looks fabulous and like a song…all time great
There's no comparison between Lara and anyone else, not even Sir Vivian Richards. Each player, like every individual on earth, is uniquely different. Tendulkar, has his own uniqueness
When we seek to compare people, someone gets short changed. Lara, having the extra pressure of carrying the team single handedly, must be considered. Yet he performed with such poise, ingenuity, brilliance, and courage. This has placed him in a league of his own.
Boom Boom Legend Brian Lara❤️
Brian lara is the greatest
Thanks very much for posting that, now I really hearing about Lara record, brilliant stuff
Brian Lara is the best there was and could ever be, simply the greatest ever.
@@michaeldavis5619 I think Viv was miles ahead
Lara was true legend.
He did not played for any individual records he played positive cricket all time in specialy whenever team was in critical situation. He hit sixes whenever he was close to century.
This video simple shows you that Lara was by far the greatest batsman of all time .
Apart from the fact that his average was almost half that of the man almost every cricket fan acknowledges as the greatest, Sir Donald Bradman
Simply the best.... Better than all the rest.
I admire Sachin Tendulkar technIque and stroke production. His records might be broken but when in full flow his batting was delight to watch! WI batters are dynamic for sure but Ind batters captivate me with their elegance and class. So easy to the eye.. happy watching...
Gavasker was 1 million times a better batsman.Sasha was all hype... Just was a cut below Gary Sobers, Graham Pollock, Barry Richard's, Sunil Gavasker,Viv Richards, of course Lara was the king of.... .My brother played against him in the West Indian schoolboy tournament in 🇹🇹 Trinidad. And he was quite impressed at what he saw... His observation was correct. My brother was on the Jamaican School Boys cricket squad.
True words sir...Lara is number one Cricket legend...don't compare Sachin with Lara , there are lots of player can replace Sachin ...But Lara s style and Match winning aggression is Tremendous...By an Indian Fan
NOBODY CAN REPLACE SACHIN.HE IA THE NO 1 BATSMAN OF ALL TIME.EVEN LARA CANNOT MATCH HIM.LARA WAS NOT ABLE TO DOMINATE THE INDIAN BOWLING LINE UP.SACHIN DOMINATED ALL THE BOWLING LINE UPS OF THE WORLD HAS MORE MAN OF THE MATCHES THAN BRIAN LARA.SACHIN WAS A BRUTAL FORCE IN 90S WHICH NOBODY CAN MATCH.RECORD SPEAKS THAT.HE HAS RULED THE CRICKETING WORLD FOR 24 YEARS WHICH NOBODY HAS DONE.
Brian Charles Lara for certain!!!!
To me Brian Lara was the best batsman ever
Brian c Lara simply the best
I love your compilation and the way you analyzed The greatest batsman of all time, you're spot on in your closing summary ,Lara is way Better than Sachin, entertaining too.
While Sachin was technically better,Lara was scarier for Australia.Tendulkar just scored skillful 100's against us that didn't hurt Australia as much as Lara who scored big, fast scoring 100's.
You're so funny technically better than Lara stop talking nonsense
Laxman was scarier for Australia in the Tendulkar era.
@@wadiwadawwadiwadaw4812 so true buddy never thought of it from this angle
No one can bat as good as brian lara in test cricket
Lara is an all time great for sure, a pure genius....in terms of talent , Sachin and Lara was on par, but what took Sachin ahead was his dedication towards the game. For Lara, playing cricket was part of life , For Sachin, Life was cricket and only cricket. Lara would party the whole night before the test match, walk in at no.3 next day and score the most beautiful hundred ever or play the most casual shot ever and get out cheaply...
With Sachin, he would be mentally batting on that 22 yards 2 days before the match. This took Tendulkar ahead of Lara ,
Brian Charles Lara . The best simple.
Lara is a batting King none better ever there will beeee
Brian Lara the best by a mile👏 The best ever🙌🏽
Yess
Greatest batsman in this living world imagine guys if he was born in india he would have become god
Yea, they would have stopped worshipping cows and goats and worshiped him.🎉
I don't think it's even close, Brian Lara is the greatest batsman GOD has ever Created.
Lara in test and jayasuriya in Odis played to dominate and attack and make opponents suffer while others played for personal achievement!
yess
The greatest Test batsman that I have ever seen play.
Nelson Mandela visited Trinidad once and ask: "where is Brian Lara?
None stylish batsman than brain lara he was something else a treat to watch eye soothing
Brain Charles Lara one of the best cricket &true legend he is a champion of cricket
It is impossible to choose one between Sachin and Brian Lara. Both were equally good.
Lara was more stylish and elegant. Statistically, Sachin is ahead
And yet Lara failed in and against India? His test average against India is 35!
LARA Greatest Batsman. The Genius.Frustrated every Bowler.Scored at his own will.I was privileged to watch him play .The Best
Yeah
Lara hit the ball mercilessly.
Exactly
Sir Lara was the most naturally gifted batsman of all time.
Yesss
Lara is the greatest batsman ever lived! Poised, elegance, best field placer of the ball, aggressive
Lara was Lara way above any batsman in the history of the game....!!
🔥
The prince he has made his mark on cricket we still remember him
yesss
Best the world ever seen Brian Charles Lara
501 not out is a crazy stat!
Brian Lara, there's only one entertainer
For me, Brian Lara is the all-time best batsman
Nice video ❤
I stopped watching cricket after Prince retirement.
Love him
One of the greatest!
Brian was such a flambouyant batsman. Also the best player of spin.He was simply a true genius. What an entertainer!!.
exactly
Brian Lara is one of the most superb batsman ever. His record will remain for a long time.
Always Brian Lara he is the greatest batsman world has ever seen.
Yeah
I totally believe that
He is the best player to me so smooth with the bat wow 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Both are greats but I would rate Lara higher than Sachin as Lara was always under pressure to perform and he won games for WI on his own
what has Lara won? Any world Cup Final?
Lara is better because only the fact than he’s considered one of the best while playing on a losing team who always put the pressure on him. He did it alone and all his records are against first class teams
Brain Lara is the Real God of Cricket.
Lara is like wasim akram more skillful while Sachin is like mcgrath accurate and consistent
🔥
Greatest ever. Treat to watch 🎉❤
One of the best🔥
This video takes me back in time. Lara was an awesome batsman.
One of the best of all time🔥
The absolute GOAT.
Coming out of Trinidad +Tobago H. I.M. Brian Charles Lara was the best we have ever seen.
My Favorite cricketers, and batsman, great man, I'm a west Indian, I like both cricketers Sachin Tendulkar, and Brian Charles Lara, However, i gave Brian the edge Over Sachin, reason is He scored more Double centuries,
Lara had the deepest bag has a batsman:cover drive,on drive, late cut, coming down the ground, hook shot, pull shot, sweep shot, off the legs.
One of the best🔥
Brian Lara was and still is the best
Undoubtedly BRIAN LARA 🏏👌👑
Allan Donald talks abt Sachin ,Lara ,Steve waugh in an interview in 2009 ,
I had been watching Sachin Tendulkar on and off before we (South Africa) were readmitted in 1991.
Lara is the best Batsman ever .
Yeah
Brian Lara was from a planet where cricket was the pastime of the Gods. He was a special God. He performed miracles on demand.
💯
Lara. Simply the GOAT🎉
Lara is the Greatest Ever Without Apology
🔥
Great doc..
Yes, Brian Lara, the batsman, was the Greatest Of All Times!
