I stopped watching Cricket since the whole Amir no ball incident, just watch highlights and RUclips videos.

    Ambrose - the gentleman of cricket. What a childhood we had ..watching him bowl continuously. Master of pace , bounce , swing , length , slow ball. The best thing about ambrose was he was able to read the face and mindset of game plan of any batsman. He had read very well the batsmans like waugh brothers , sachin , azhar , Inzy, martin crowe , arvind disilva , dean jones , alan border , stephen fleming , nathan astle , saeed anwar , graham gooch ... amazing days of 90s in cricket world.. missing those days

      @@raXunHAWK They are a group of teams including Jamaica, Trinidad and Tobago etc.. most of them are playing football these days .. because many of their players playing in MLS these days.. so it is a good opportunity for them especially players like wes Morgan, Leone bailey etc got into huge clubs

A lot of west indians are getting jnto football though, as well as track and field and basketball. There's more money involved and they have a better chance of getting noticed

      Tooo much politics and the cricketer see no future so they start playing basketball and other sports and mostly gone to us ,,a few I've seen in London football clubs ,,it's very unfortunate the mighty stars. Of westindies specially the Tall bowlers we can't see them any more

      They have star players like Gayle , bravo, narine, Pollard, Lewis, jofra archer, Andre Russel, but they don't want to play for their nation . They are just playing T20 leagues around the world. That's a shame really.

    Ambrose was such a great bowler, he had everything pace, accuracy, hostility, bounce and seam movement damn near unplayable at times.

    When I was a kid I was lucky enough to see guys like Viv Richards, Michael Holding, Andy Roberts, Dennis Lillee and Jeff Thompson. Those World Series Cricket day/night games were the best.

    These bowlers really tested the technique of batsmen. Not only they had the variations to outfox the best of the best but also they made sure that even on their bad days (which were rare), the batsmen worked extremely hard to score runs.
    U had to be really skillful, determined, and technically exceptional to survive these lot. Thats why the likes of TENDULKAR, LARA, DRAVID, MARK WAUGH, PONTING , CHANDEPAUL, KALLIS etc will always stand out compared to this generation.

      Completely wrong. Ambrose was hit for six numerous times. Inzamam ul-Haq and Basit Ali are two who did it. Colin Miller hooked him for two sixes at St John's in 1999. I'm sure there are others.

      That stat is incorrect. What I know is that since his first test match when he conceded a 100 runs in an innings, he never conceded that amount of runs in an innings for the remainder of his test career

    Every batsmen would fear west indies bowling in the late 1980's and 90s. They include ambrose, micheal holding, courtney walsh.Hopefully current westindies team regains their old form and perform well against all teams as they used to do before.

    So glad this was the cricket I grew up with.
    Saw Clive Lloyd's and Viv Richard's teams v the Chappelle's Aussies including Lillee and Thompson at the WACA in the 70s and 80s. Absolutely incredible to see. Nothing like it before and nothing like it since.

    Met a lot of the West Indies lads in Sydney a few times when I lived there. . Curtly Ambrose is an absolutely a lovely man. Great competitor. Very humble.
