- After persistent persuasion here is my first video. Turns out a happy creative place can be anywhere even a campsite. Getting to do my hobby with @PaulMessner

You just need to stop thinking about the camera and be yourself, like Paul does. You have real artistic talent, a great personality, a wicked sense of humour and you are a damned site better looking than Paul! Your channel could be even bigger than his if you wanted it to be. Go for it Jo!

Please don't let this be the only video. I love the idea of sitting and chatting while you just paint with someone. Maybe get Paul to speak with other camping RUclipsrs and do colabs with them that are set out like this.

@@happycreativemindOh and don't worry about negative comments. They are always from people who haven't the balls to do something cool like this. All RUclipsrs start a bit shy of the camera at first but most come through really well and I honestly think you will if you keep going.
Both look real to me, down to earth and much better than anything I could produce.

Thanks for taking the time and effort to make this, and for making yourself vulnerable. I really enjoyed this video, and liked both of the paintings very much! But the more important thing is that you enjoyed the process and have encouraged and entertained others to have a go. The chemistry between the two of you is a gift for others to enjoy, quite apart from your accomplishments in your respective fields of interest and activity.

Absolutely love this video! You mirrored exactly how I feel about painting, I picked up a brush after over 30 years and I love it, it relaxes me. I saw you from watching Paul’s videos and love you 2 together, you remind me of my fella and me, must be a Yorkshire thing! This was a wonderful and lovely video! I watched for a few minutes, and got inspired to break out my drawing materials and sketch as I watched and listened. It was like hanging out with a sketch group. I really enjoyed your banter and the pace of this video was very nice. On a side note, your tree was very pretty! You had very good depth by adding in the different sized flowers and the different colors in the leaves made it feel like it was moving in the breeze. Please make more videos!

Both paintings are brilliant and it was very enjoyable to listen to you both talking away whilst you created them. Try not to be hard on yourself. This was an awesome watch jo, really nice and chill. Inspiration for me too. Been wanting to try painting since bloody lockdown all those years ago now lol. Me and my wife really enjoyed the video. Looking forward to the next one. We both really liked the paintings and would definitely pay money for both of them. Your workshop is a great place for recording stuff and I really like the idea of doing a guest painter playlist. Acomplished artists or total newbies... just chatting about how you go about the creative process. I think you'd be great at it.

Keep going, Jo. My wife and I have worked as an artist team for many years. Find a primitive style artist whose work speaks to you and spend a few months blending it with your vision. Try to paint even a little every day. You will find your way.

I think you should use Paul in your painting, a combination of the backgrounds you like with Paul sitting with his tent/stove and a cuppa will make an excellent painting and to top that off you can put me down for the first order

Nice work 👍🏼 I reckon you have the same ‘thing’ I do, no matter what I do, I can never see it for how it is. I could see the exact same thing from someone else and think it’s brilliant, but coz I’ve done it, not so much. P.s Love Bob Ross. I can follow his books and copy a painting well. But to do something alone and unguided, that takes some doing 👍🏼

Hi guys. Like a lot of viewers i tuned in from PM. Just out of curiosity. I’m no painter , i have trouble drawing the curtains. This video was good fun, maybe the artwork needs some thought, im no critique. Jodie, you have presence, with ability to speak to camera. You should develop your channel to encourage budding artist to peruse their hobby. Overall it’s not exactly my subject , but i subscribed to give your encouragement and confidence. Hi Joel, excellent video, really enjoyed it. My husband watches Paul's videos about camping and walking. When Paul mentioned your painting, I was really interested, as I have just ordered some watercolor painting kit today and can't wait to get started. I had been asking my husband earlier today if he'd like to do some painting with me and he wasn't sure, but hopefully your video will have encouraged him to give it a go. Thank you!
That’s lovely, Paul’s been painting with watercolours tonight. He’s quite good at it too for a beginner. He got me to film it so it may make RUclips. We’ve really enjoyed spending time together doing it. 😊

That was brilliant!! I much prefer impressionistic painting but when I paint myself I am a bit like Paul, focused on realistic detail. To my taste impressionistic paintings have more feeling and emotion. So carry on, what will you be painting on your second video? 😃
