we are on the same boat. it seems no matter how far we are all are "creatives" ...how similar we are... I'm a 55-year-old artist, MTB Biker and photographer (among other things) from the beautiful Twin Islands of Trinidad and Tobago
I love the way you talk through your process and are how it comes across as you being gentle with yourself in the ebbs and flows of your creativity. I've been trying get into my own side hustle/intentional art practice and you've been serving as a huge inspiration for me. Thank you for your work!!
The people do indeed love the Nora shots! I also loved the footage from your trip. I'm an American living in a large metropolis in Germany, and these desert shots remind me that there are indeed places that feel like they haven't been touched/modified by human hands.
This is literally the best content format for me any my mental health. Thank you for making my medical bedrest SO good it's enjoyable. Sending so much love from my room to yours!! Glad I found you now!
Your studio vlogs are my favorite :) Thanks for keeping it real and showing the reality of distraction and what a normal human being can do in one day! The painted books are such a cute idea for a personal project, I totally agree that low-pressure projects like that are what helps keep me sane and ready to work on the big stuff.
I came across your channel tonight and I loved your creativity and your Art. The fake books! Wow I'm headed to the Goodwill to get started on mine! Thanks for sharing. I just subscribed.
This is the first video of yours that I saw and I really like it❤ your skull paintings are awesome 💥😍 thank you for the ideas of some new hobbies to try 🥰
these days were not the best for me ( I have been trying to make and sell my art but failed lol) and your videos were like a breeze of fresh air , your vibes and what you do is amazing
I love how RUclips takes me down rabbit holes and lead me to you today. I'm an avid hiker and your trip to the desert with those incredible vistas and colours is pushing me in yet another direction for this year's big trip 🤩 I live in the South of France and we have a mini canyon up the road but I've never visited the desert. Hmmmmm 🏜️
Instant Subscribe. . This video made feel alive. Seeing all your different creative outputs Inspired my Soul to say, YES I AM AN ARTIST. Thank you. Deep gratitude. I trust that all your generativity will bring you unlimited abundance in life. Hope you stickers, art, pottery, podcast, patreon, doodles, wooden blocks of books, and anything and everything you do feeds your body, mind and soul as much and more as it has inspired me and countless others!
Here from a Kathleen Illustrated video where she mentioned your channel so I took a peek, only to realize you're a Utah artist just like me! (Graphic Designer, full-time at a company though) I'm also from Utah around SLC! Hi, neighbor! It's so awesome to be reminded of how awesome the indie and local artist scene here is. You create some rad stuff!
That tombow pen is my absolute favorite and is my go to! I always have to stop myself from purging and organizing cause once I start I can't stop and that's all I focus on too 😆 "I hope there's flowers blooming where you are" I love that and might save that for a future design 🌷
Came across this channel this week and ur mindset to art helped me to feel more positive over my own progress in my own art journey. Thanks for creating such a cool little chill place and on the internet net!
You are the first young artist I have found that I relate with. The scene in the canyon oozing at the work of the ones that came before and pondering if the same drive, drove your passion, was that point. You get what this need to make marks is… Keep it up my tribe mate. I steward a land next to a river where the lives of the ancients is still very visible. It inspires me in ways that cause me to ponder as you did across thousands of years…
One of your best yet. I really enjoyed seeing you do more than one project especially the botanical painting on your camping trip. I feel so inspired after watching your vids
The idea with fake books is so fun. I been meaning to make dummies for books I’m writing/planning to write to inspire myself more into consistency but now I’m also thinking it would be so fun if all these pretend books someone turned into real ones that would be sm fun!
poetry reading poster is incredible and the sketchbook spread from the desert is perfect perfect perfect! Thanks for letting me hang in your studio/ thanks for coming to hang in my studio (:
Great vlog as always Kristen. I’m really loving the poster work you’ve been doing. Looks like your trip was so fun. Lower Utah has been on my bucket list for so long. Time to make it happen mwah 💋
Asking me to pick a favorite part? Impossible! I enjoy seeing what you are willing to share in the format you wish to. It’s like being brought along with a friend ❤
Hola, I decided to start my very first sketch book at the ripe (young) age of 47, because of your sketch book vids.🎉🎉🎉🎉 Thanks for the inspiration!!!! Ps: The first sketch pad I purchased had very thin paper so I decided to do pen only doodles and I too love doing multiples of my sketches 🐸. Thanks again for your inspiration. 🤎.
These videos are so nice to watch. I was doing a little bit of personal writing/journaling while I watched this video 😊 the fake books were definitely my favorite part, your art style is one of my favorites
These mugs are so cute! It makes me want to enroll into ceramic classes I found in my area and make some for myself. This was incredibly peaceful but entertaining to watch. I had a great time :) would love more Nora in next one!
i've only just discovered your channel and i am just so happy to have found your art, and your videos! also so many things you mentioned, resonate with me it feel a little like i'm watching myself.lol. so happy to binge watch ALL of the videos on your channel
have you ever tried larger plein air painting in any of the beautiful locations you’ve traveled to? your sketches are so gorgeous i can only imagine what you’d create on a canvas! this was yet another lovely video thank you for sharing!!❤
I just recently found your page, and am SO GLAD I did. This video was great, as is your art! This felt so lovely and authentic and yes. I’m done now. But thank you for sharing all of this!
I’m so inspired when I watch your videos. Idek how to explain it but I feel more open and accepting of new things and then you upload a video and I’m like wow I didn’t know I needed that. Jm
Thank Kris. I only found you and subbed a month or so ago. Love your art, attitude, humour! I love that you have love and support around you. I loved this video. I'm slowly looking back through your content 😊x Nell.
I binged all your videos recently bc I just love your energy and your artwork. I love seeing your process and adventures, it's really inspired me to make more art. I feel like I've been looser and more experimental and less down on myself for making "mistakes". Thanks so much for that.
I've said it before, but yours are practically the only studio vlogs I bother to watch. This one was breathtaking as always, the art and the scenery! So jelly. 😍❤️😭 "I hope there's flowers blooming where you are." Well... /looks at the 4 inches of ice covering everything that isn't covered by a foot of snow/ Not really, no. But we'll get there, maybe next month. 😫
I watched one video and subscribed.😊I'm going to binge-watch your other videos now. 😃 I'm also an artist, although I haven't really pursued it yet. When I had to decide what to do, I chose media design because it seemed to make more sense. However, I haven't been working in that field for years. My enthusiasm for drawing and painting comes and goes. You've inspired me to give it another try. When you draw animals, do you use references? I get the impression from many RUclipsrs that they draw everything from memory, which intimidates me a lot. I can't do that at all. But often, you don't see the reference and the finished picture in the RUclips-World🤷♀️
One question I have is how you clean up your watercolor or gouache paintings after you've scanned them - would love a quick tutorial on that because I just scanned a watercolor painting and then when I tried to use Select tool in Procreate, using the Automatic option got rid of some of the paint and doing it freehand is very tedious. Anyway, thanks for reading this even if you don't tell me lol
I randomly found this video as I'm starting an early morning as an illustrator and wanted a bit of inspiration, omg! It was immaculate and the vibesss I've instantly become one of the people that clicked the Subscribe button
You’re great and I just subscribed. And a bit off the subject…I had a table similar to the one you painted red. However I mosaicked mine for a surprise birthday gift. Well I should say pique assiette. It turned out great. I love the red too. It’s my favorite color.
Hi Kristen, I found your channel a few weeks ago and have watched all of your vlogs since… I just had to say that you are so wonderful and have inspired me to create without judgment and for joy in a new way. Also you always make me laugh and are so funny in the most lovely, cutest, authentic way! ❤ I hope you are feeling well. I’m sending all my love from the UK! x
P.S there is a Georgia O’Keefe doc on RUclips called By myself, that is very inspiring. It might make you wanna go full dirtbag in the desert though, fair warning ☺️ (I live in my van in Wales, UK)
I absolutely love the book idea!! I must do this! It could be a fun way to make as a prop for a book you are working on too. Loved this vlog! I have grown out a buzzed pixie cut too, you've got this, be strong, I love the haircut!
Here from a Kathleen Illustrated video and love the vibe! This is perfect to watch while also making art, I'll definitely be sticking around to watch more.

Aww hi!
I love the hair!
Love your vlogs. I recently started a series of mini paintings of various fauna, including a toad, so it was fun watching you draw toads as well.
What a cool side ‘just for fun’ project - love the faux books 💕
That tombow pen is my absolute favorite and is my go to! I always have to stop myself from purging and organizing cause once I start I can't stop and that's all I focus on too 😆 "I hope there's flowers blooming where you are" I love that and might save that for a future design 🌷

I would paint that table in a cold green, like Statue of Liberty. Love your painting by the way 👌 Please a little more on your cat 😻
Really well made video :) I’m still learning haha. The trip looked so relaxing and inspiring 😊

I usually do it freehand in Procreate, its tedious but I haven't found an easier way! I can try to cover it in a future video though!
This is so good, I love it ☺☺☺
This i so calming to watch. Thank you for taking us through your day :) I love your art style btw!
Now I want to make wood books for my room too. Maybe some wooden comic books and manga as well.
