For all of you lovelies hanging out in the comments: if you haven't purchased the art print yet...do it! Mine just arrived the other day and it is so gorgeous. Officially my favorite art 😍
Aww thank you so much!! Glad you love it
I, too, need to give the world a sniff every once in a while. Nora was so wise when she said this.
She really is so wise
You KILLED that skull painting, I love it so much.
thank you!!
my favorite part was you talking about how sculpting has made you look at painting more in depth, im not a painter but it was really interesting. you translated your growth really well and its a super cool perspective to have gained. love the geese & watercolor art.
aw thank you!!
I'm forever impressed by the life you have created for yourself! I love seeing your growth. Thank you for sharing your life with us. 💞
you are so sweet Whitney!! Thanks for following along :)
I'm the old artist who usually prints out her reference. But have been trying to do the laptop screen thing. You reminded me that it's always easier with a ref you can hold in your hand. The printed refs end up completely destroyed with the drips and spills and things, I put them in a special file. Oh yeah, JUST DO THE OILS!! I painted with acrylics for many many years, now I know if you want it to look like oils, just do the oils.
This might have just convinced me to switch to oils! Thank you!!
In art school we weren't allowed to use our references digitally we were required to print it out. A screen is making it's own light, while a physical photo is color with the light reflecting off of it.
Wow. I had surgery almost two months ago and haven’t felt any inspiration to paint or make until I watched this and got hit with the most intense envy and inspiration while watching you paint the edges of that canvas 😂 thank you for this beautiful video. I’m excited to make again!
hahah I know that feeling! Glad it inspired you!
Love your editing style in this, your skull painting is *chef kiss*
thank you!
you're the best, thank you for putting stuff onto the internet
Never thought to take art to a professional studio to get pics of it. Going to steal that idea because you're so right, taking pictures of canvas is a nightmare.
Its so worth it!!
Love to hear about your process and self reflection on what informs your art❤
love how the skull edges kinda look like petals. very awesome to see your journey, long live long form content.
aw thank you so much!!
that painting is so beautiful! it almost looks like gouache 🥰
aw thank you!!
you're my favourite art youtuber, the whole video is so well done and super inspiring as i begin my own art business journey so thank you !
aww I'm honored, haha thank you!!
You inspire me to try painting something bigger - last time I did that was in 2020. It was so beautiful when you said that you woke up and couldn't think about anything except painting the skull painting. Long content is awesome. I could just watch you paint for hours it's so relaxing 💜
Aww thank you so much!! I hope you do! It can be hard but so rewarding
Your can also buy slow dry medium for acrylics! And experiment with gel and fluid mediums, and gloss vs matte.
Hi Kris! This was the first video of yours I’ve watched and I absolutely love your painting. This was indeed a short reprieve for me as my dad was just diagnosed with cancer (he’s my best friend) I’m an artist but have not felt inspired to paint this last week since the news of it all. Thanks for sharing and creating ✨🩵
i'm so glad this video appeared on my feed today omg new fave channel ❤️🩹🐯
Welcome!
I like coming back to your channel as another artist to another... it helps me stay motivated. It's a funny world for introverts who are creative... we want to be alone to do our art, but we get burned out when we're alone for too long and need someone familiar to kind of revive us... or at least that's how I feel😅 anyway, yeah. Just trying to say I appreciate you for making videos and of course I appreciate you for being you!
Colors in the painting are awesome, the pinks and purples really pop out and make you want to know more, but the greens are also intensely good. It's a skull then 👍😂 thought could have been a shell or an elaborate wrap/fabric.
Yes , I have a new respect for anyone selling ceramics after taking a class, it is a ton of work!❤
I too want to be gentle with myself this year! both in my art practice and otherwise
Love this vlog! And your painting … so beautiful! The colors, the vibration…gorgeous.
Thank you so much!

that skull painting is INCREDIBLE!!! you are sooo talented!! 💌✨
Thank you so much!!
The skull painting is so incredible, I love love the pink. Am definitely getting that print soon.
aw thank you so much!!
The way you painted those geese feels so fun and free! You're inspiring :D
thank you Meg!! thats what I'm going for heheh
Love the painting and I look forward to seeing this body of work evolve!
thank you so much!
Ha! When your video popped up in my dashboard, immediate reaction was "finally!!" love your videos and listening to you chat when I do my own crafty things. Thank you for putting your work on the Tube
hahah aww I love that!!!
Your content so southing I hope other people get to stumble upon your channel. Have a wonderful 2024 🍃🌸

Soooo excited to see a video by you Kristen!! Truly made my day, and your work is beautiful!!
I haven’t done ceramics since HS and I miss it so much. It has always been a dream to own a wheel and a kiln, as working clay is so relaxing. Good for those of us with ANXIETY. Thanks for this. 🤗
Aw I'm so glad!! Thank you!! Wouldn't it be such a dream to have a backyard ceramics studio?? goals
The painting is so gorgeous. The colours? YUMMY!
Thank you so much!
That painting is AMAZING! You've made me want to give mediums a try with my acrylics. Oil paint is so toxic and gives me such a headache when I work in it. Plus you need so much ventilation.
Thank you!! Mediums make the whole thing so much easier!
Your skull painting is amazing 😻 You’ve just inspired me to find a lil time in my evening to draw ❤
The skull turned out AMAZING. Great work, it looks very much like oils.
I have definitely been feeling the burnout and have taken a few steps back from socials as well. It must be in the air.
Final note; I also had an art show called bloom! I love that. I'm sure your show will be incredible.
Happy rest of winter. ❤
Oh, amazing!! Thank you so much :)
This is so lovely! Thanks for bringing us along with you.
just discovered your channel, thanks for this cozy and inspiring video
Love love the print and stickers for Patreon! Everything looks amazing and the video was so good. Glad I found your channel! :)
Congratulations on finishing your painting it looks incredible, your videos are so entertaining i always look forward to watching them
aww thank you so much!!
I saw six geese in flight as I was out this morning and immediately thought of the sticker. Life imitates art.
Your energy is literally exactly what i needed! Beautiful painting❤❤❤
I'm so glad! Thank you!
I absolutely love your work and your videos! They bring me so much inspiration and joy. I love watching your process ❤️ Thank you for sharing!!
I'm so happy when you upload a new video! It motivates me a lot to paint for myself (although I study visual arts haha) but it's so hard for me to sit down and say I'm going to do something that's not for college. Also the painting of the skeleton look fantastic!
I'm so glad! Making time to make art just for yourself is the best
Thanks so much for taking the time to share your process for the painting. It came out so beautiful! And the rest of the vlog rocked too!❤️
Love the finished painting! Thanks for sharing❤
It's easier to blend the paint and have softer edges when the paint remains wet for a long time! Regular acrylic paint dries really fast which can be an advantage if you use a lot of layers, but I like to be able to mix a color and keep using it! I also live in a really dry climate so the dryness can be a challenge! There's pros and cons!
That painting looks so good. It’s always good to keep a piece of your self and your art just for you. You share so much with so many that it’s nice to keep a piece just for you.
To keep the paint wet longer, put a rolled up paper towel soaked with water and place it inside before putting on the lid. Mine lasts a long time that way.
It's so nice to see that skull painting done. it looks so good!
this video was out together so well, glad to have found you !
I LOVE the skull painting! And seriously the green edges make me so happy lol 💚
Already within the first 50 seconds of this video - relatable 🥲😂
Amazing work and vlog, loved all the colours in the painting and the sticker is
Genuinely some of the coolest stickers I've seen! Can't wait to check them out when they're back in stock.
Cheers to not using etsy. I'm going to start going that route when I get a shop up and running, I think that's the way to go.
I think this was such a lovely video to be introduced to you as an artist
Hi! 🙌🏽 thanks for this glimpse into your studio and life worlds. It’s grey here in Ohio at the moment, and it was a delightful mind vacation to see your beautiful work. Hope your upcoming show goes well. 🎉
thank you so much!
What a beautiful beautiful vlog and I love the skull painting!
Just found your channel! Beautiful painting ❤! Thank you for sharing the process!
Loved hanging out with you for this 20 mins 💛
this was my first video that i have watched and i feel really inspired to draw also just started a pottery class and i totally get what you mean. it’s so much fun creating something 3D!!
aw yay, you definitely should!
I love a long video. I’m a potter. There is a good healing vibe hanging out in a communal clay studio. Glad it’s working out for you!😊
lovely, as always! i adore the way you use colour ^-^ big YUMB
the vibes r vibin i love ur energy !!!!
Love to see you painting❤
I love everything you're doing! It's so inspiring! Also, if you're interested in oils you should try water mixable oils. It simplifies the process SOOOO much. I will say, in relation to acrylics, the dry time is DRASTICALLY longer. It's nice to have a little extra time to work with your paint but I find having to wait days between layers can feel a bit oppressive. Anyway, thanks for the content! Your channel is quickly rising to the top of my favorites list.
aww thank you so much, thats so cool. I have yet to try but have friends who love water mixable oils!
@@littletinyeggI wonder if a friend could let you try them out so you know if you like them before you commit to buying a set. Maybe you could do a medium swap or something
Watching the final process of the skull painting was such a gift - the colours were so beautiful. What a great treat on a sunny winter morning. Subscribed!
Long form content is the best! (spoken by someone who has never been on ticktock and uses insta in very brief and limited ways...)(but I'll follow you over there :)) Another great video, Kris, thank you!
awww thank you so much!!
Loved seeing the process of this very detailed and beautiful painting, I found your account from this video :D

Currently going through a bad and scary flare up right now and this video indeed gave me so much comfort. You're awesome

Beautiful painting!
lovely video was super comforting
I love the big skull painting. Love it. Yeah some colors aren't photo reproducible. Blues are hard. So are fluorescents.

Freakin here for this
seeing you being so passionate made me want to paint again :) love your work

That painting is so beautiful! I love the colors and details 😍
i didnt realise i already follow your insta til i looked it up after watching haha this video was so nice and calming 🐉 i usually paint with oil paints but have been in an eternal art slump & through the first half of the vid i was all “ooh maybe i should try out acrylics” fun that you then considered the opposite!
truly loved this video, it’s edited in such a lovely way
Thanks for another inspiring video❤️
thank you for watching!!
I'm always so happy when you post a video! Since I've started following you I've also joined a little art studio and am also working on creating some bigger pieces this year. It feels good to pickup my art practise again after getting my degree 10 years ago and feeling very burnt out about art. Excited to see your next painting!
Oh I love that so much, thank you!!!
Great painting Kristen and your barbed wire is killer! Beautiful job on the ceramics too. Nice to see Norah out and about 😁
thank you!! She loves her harness!!
I'd love more info about the show in MT. We're in Helena, and maybe we could go if it's not too far of a drive.
It'll be at Good Luck Gallery in Kalispell! The show will run from April 4th-July. I'll post more about it on instagram and the gallery has an instagram account as well!
