You hit upon the spot that got me back into collecting, the Walmart clearance section. My first packs were 2016 Donruss Football out of that section and it has fueled my collection ever since. It even inspired Thrifty Thursday videos on my channel where I take $20, shop sales and clearances and open the packs on video. I love clearances!

I just found a 2013 Topps Series 1 Hanger Pack in the Walmart clearance bin and broke it on my channel. Struck a nice Harper and Trout. Thanks for letting me know about the Walmart clearance bin.
My Walmart in town is selling 2018 packs for 4.99 both the 34 cards per pack and 17 cards per pack. Am I missing something or that just classic Walmart?. Needless to say I bought seven packs. Clearing the box.

Most of my packs that I have bought the last few years have been from the clearance section in WalMart because I collect sets and try to complete them that way. Also, I collect all types of sports cards so if you ever get football or basketball in a flea market visit I would love them. I hope to send something for fan mail Friday sometime soon

Some of the coolest cards, like the Ty Cobb/Honus Wagner card in the middle of one of the last packs opened, is just skipped over real fast with no mention about it!
Hahaha! The same thing happens to me when I buy at Walmart or Target!! An employee told me that some items are made to activate the buzzer even after they were demagnetized. They do it for stuff that is stolen the most.

Got two packs of 2016 Topps Update at Walmart today.... as soon as I opened one pack I saw the bottom corners of it were all smashed, was about to toss them all then I sifted through and found a Severino autograph... first ever auto card and of course it’s beat up 😂

I'd suggest pick a team that is perennially good like the Yankees or Red Sox or pick an up and coming team like the Padres, Braves etc.

Man ... you are pretty lucky! All the Wal-Marts here in the SF Bay Area is so bare with cards! Never on clearance!! Love your channel and keep up the good work! One time I was at a target in palisades mall and a reached so far back in the row a found a box of nba cards from the 90’s and it was so old it wasn’t in their registers so I got it for free

I live in small town Canada. I think I am the only baseball card buyer at my Walmart,whereas everyone else buys Hockey and NFL cards. They have 3 unopened 2018 Topps series 2 hobby boxes still on the shelf. I just cleared out all the 2017 Topps from the shelf.
I always check the clearance rack at walmart.....sometimes you can find hidden gems!

Question for the pros: Why are these Topps cards in opposite directions every few cards? Why do you have to "flip" the cards around to get them all the same direction?
Just makes them seem a bit less professional. Other types of trading/collectible cards I've opened, the different directions would be an indication of a faked pack. (And I know Topps cards are like this, and not faked.)
Thank you for explaining the difference of a regular card and short print from the code on the card bottom. I'll have to check my 2017 Topps cards for any variations.

I always look through the clearance first. You can find some good deals.
You can sell the Andrews for about 5 bucks each so 15 bucks for 3 but you spent about 28 buck but you still got other cards, 3 cards already made you back 15 bucks, that's great pulls right there. I think that you split even on the money you made back.
You win some, you lose some! But, that's the fun of it!
I once bought an old box of 2009 Upper Deck on clearance at Walmart and got a Bryce Harper Futures Watch auto thread. He was just called up to the Nationals so I sold it for $150.00.
I don't think the Judge and Bregmans RC's are in the Update. I thought they were in either series 1 or 2.

I'd be lucky if any Wal-Mart's near me would even clearance baseball cards, let alone fat packs. I went to a store that has baseball cards that is going out of business and they had 2016, 2017, 2018 cards at only 10% off but like they said at the store, they NEVER clearance or even put cards on sale. This store (Shopko) has had all their cards pulled from their stores that are closing later this month and in May, but the stores closing in June (the final ones) kept their cards and they're just putting all the cards they have left into the liquidation. Right now (or at least I believe), they are now at 20% off and some of the stores have the 2018 factory sets and the latest they had was 18 Topps Holiday, but given the amount of people that are eyeing them, they probably aren't going to last long in any case. (The one store I went to last weekend), they only had BB and FB cards but they had top loaders so I bought those since I needed them.
I bought a pack and pulled a red 2016 post-season signed relic card of Francisco Lindor 9 of 25. I have for looking for what it’s worth, but can’t find any for sell on eBay. Enjoyed your video like always.

I pulled a serial numbered Oakland A's postseason celebrations card out of 2017 update. Can't remember what year it was though.

I found some of these sale packs at my Walmart and also cleaned out all the baseball. Only difference here in Canada was the packs were on sale for $5.99, but I guess it works out about the same. Only two of 2017 Update, but there was some 2013 Update and 2014 Donruss.
Hahah I did the same with football basketball and just 3 baseball ...got some autos and Jersey cards....always fun with the clearance sales at Walmart!!!!!

Great break last night, Jabs. Hopefully one day I have the money to buy into one.
Because of this video I did the exact same thing. 5 different Walmarts. Found 4 packs of 2017 Topps. 3 Series 1 and 1 Series 2. It was fun but didn’t produce anything too exciting. Wanted that Benny Rookie. Did pull a Yoan Moncada 30th Card which was cool.
LoL My wife found a complete 2017 Topps Series 1 and 2 set at Target for $30.
Definetly packed searched. You can tell that by the way the cards come out of the pack all shuffled. Unsearched pack the cards will be one solid brick with maybe a couple of cards shifted. A easy way to tell this is to run your finger over the top or bottom of the cards while in the pack and if the cards are all bumpy and mis-aligned then it was probably searched. It should be smooth with little to no cards out of place. No, i am not a pack searcher. However, I have encountered their disgusting ways many times over the years. Some are really good at their trade. They can find the autos, jersey cards and sp hits out of any pack if they have time to sit there and search them. We all know that wally world, target and other retail stores dont care. There is somebody that actually opens the blasters and reseals them with shrink wrap. I have run into this several times over the years and the worst was a marked down 2011 topps update blaster box i found in a toys r us store in 2014. The box was resealed and all the packs were opened at all the good cards were taken out and replaced with garbage commons. One way to avoid this is to inspect the blaster and make sure the shrink wrap is factory wrapped. You can tell in most cases because the company name like topps or panini will be in the shrink wrap. If it is just plain buyer beware. However, this doesn't always work because of late i have seen where they dont remove the outer wrap, but cut a small incision along the sides in the bottom or top of the box and seal it up with clear tape. This happened to me when i found 2 prizm basketball blasters and i didnt detect it until i was up front waiting to pay and i felt a rough edge in my hand from the box and then i discovered the tape. I brought them to the customer service and tried to explain. In one ear and out the other. I have not seen it yet but i have heard stories about a guy who brings a small scale and weighs the packs and blaster boxes then only buying the ones that significantly different in weight. Hope this helps people out there but the rule of retail is beware and if the product has been sitting on the shelf more than a week then its probably been searched...

I went, but it takes hours to convert the video files, so it's not ready. In fact, out of the 10 video files recorded today, only 3 are done at the moment. Pretty good day, I snagged double digits.

I just bought all these kind of packs from dollar tree the other day for .1 cent apiece every card pack was 1 cent at all the dollar trees last week here in metro Detroit,because there not selling ....👌 cool with me ,I bought every pack they had lol ...

Theres another video out there saying not to buy cards from Target or Walmart cause you risk getting crappy cards from people who took all the good cards out and resealed them with the bad stuff. I haven't had a bad pack from other Target or Walmart so I dont really know what the issue is...

Idk how you got put into my videos to watch but I’m so glad. I found myself getting away from baseball and more into hockey but you have brought me back into watching baseball again. And I went and bought a topps, donruss, fleer tony Gwynn RC’s to go with my signed bag and ball as I grew up going to his games and he’s my all time favorite.
