Thank you for this great review. I have had mine for a week and I am loving it! But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to access the 50 on board workouts. I am loving ifit but what if I didn't have that how do I do one of the workouts that are on the machine? I have been searching on the internet but its never mentioned.
It's a little tricky because when you have iFit all of the videos automatically load, so it's hard to distinguish which ones are free. If you go to the Library tab the most popular videos will appear at the top, but if you keep scrolling down, you'll find a selection of graphed digital workouts that come free with the machine. These are typically not videos, they are preloaded landscapes or graphed workouts.
TreadmillReviewGuru I’m also having this issue finding the onboard workouts! Can you please walk me through it, I can’t read your previous reply ... thanks!
A big chunk of us work on treadmills with music, youtube music audio or video playlists or walk watching netflix. 2 questions. Once these included ifit subscriptions run out, will these treadmills still function as standalone treadmills with no ifit and no internet connection? A second question, is it possible to run apps on these screens (netflix, prime movies, youtube etc.)? I assume they run android OS.
Great questions. Once you stop using iFit, you will still need an internet connection to use any of the "onboard" workouts that are streamed through a free version of iFit. Or if you don't have access to an internet connection, you can still use the treadmill in a manual workout only. The hard part about NordicTrack and ProForm equipment is that the console is locked into iFit so you can't access the internet, RUclips, Netflix, etc. The consoles are on an Android system and you used to be able to access privileged mode but as far as we are aware, that has been changed recently with a software update. Let us know if you have any other questions, thanks!

There are ongoing reports of poor customer service with these machines, but compared with the other brands we use and test, we haven't found NT or PF to have any more problems than any of the others.
Most comprehensive review I've seen. Thank you! Have you tested the 2021 version? I was just about to pull the trigger, but noticed some big differences, i.e., it only inclines to 12% vs. 15% on the previous version. Curious to get your thoughts and if you'd rank it as high this year. Thanks!
We haven't tested the new 2021 model. Yes, ProForm made some significant changes. We are anxious to get the new model so we can evaluate the differences.
@@mattk1030 Ended up ordering the pro 5000 for the larger screen, but received the pro 9000 instead. My guess is they were out of stock, and it was discontinued. The Peloton Tread is another excellent choice. It is a slat belt treadmill, similar to a Woodway (but not curved), but it also inclines and features Peloton content. Sole makes solid treadmills that last forever, but they aren't as tech enhanced -- so these are a good option for runners who already have a training plan and don't want to pay for a monthly subscription. The Bowflex BXT216 is a high-end treadmill with a 400 pound weight capacity, so it is good for larger runners. Great reviews! Regarding the differences between the 2020 that is reviewed here and the new 2021... the 2021 has a smaller motor BUT a larger screen. HAS ProForm removed the Ipad holder? Anything else significant?
What is the estimated calorie burn on this treadmill at the highest inline level at say 3.8mph? Does it give you what you would burn in 30-60 minutes the way gym treadmills do?
Yes, the ProForm 2000 provides calorie data on how much you burn each time. The amount depends upon your weight and average heart rate combined with the intensity of your workout. When you create an iFit profile, you'll input your height and weight and general activity level to determine your estimated calorie burn. A study done by Nordictrack a few years ago indicated that when walking a 15% incline at 2mph for 20 minutes, users were able to burn around 200 calories. Of course your caloric burn will be specific to you, but this gives you a general idea.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru yes thank you! I got this terrible treadmill that had a “15%” incline on amazon and it does not go up a regular 15% the way it would on a gym treadmill...I end up burning 500 Cals in an hour when I’d burn 1000 at that 3.8mph and 15% incline for an hour at the gym treadmill that goes 15% up. So I’m hoping this isnt one of those.
@@animespirit18 the PF 2000 definitely inclines to 15%. However, the calorie counts on treadmills at the gym are often incorrect. Those machines are usually preset for a 150 pound person and the calorie output displayed on the screen often doesn't match what different users may burn. To get the most accurate calorie data, we recommend using a heart rate chest strap. The ProForm 2000 will sync with a chest strap via Bluetooth. This means that if you wear your chest strap while exercising, your heart rate will be displayed on the white data bar on the top of touchscreen. This will give you much more accurate HR and calorie data. Good luck! We hope you find the machine that is best for you.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru Thats awesome!! Yes I make sure my weight is correct on the treadmills at the gym. But the one I got was a total waste it does not incline to a real 15%. Thank you so much for all your help and detailed responses 😊
Thanks for the review! Is there a book or kindle holder or lip, other than the tablet holder that sits above the console? Something closer to the user. Thanks.
The new 2021 model does not have the tablet holder behind the console but there is a little ledge you can set a tablet or phone on that is closer to the user.
On ProForm's site for this treadmill and in your video, I never see what the console's screen looks like for just a basic manual workout (or any NON iFit workout). I live in an area without broadband internet so iFit won't really work for me (not streaming compatible service here). I like this treadmill and am comparing it with the NordicTrak 1750 and the Sole F80. Without iFit, what does the screen look like during a workout? Are you able to keep this treadmill offline and still use it normally (obviously without any of the iFit content) with pre-loaded workouts and just manual mode?
Yes, you can access manual mode without internet. However, having an internet connection, even if you don't use iFit, allows for updates and added content from time to time. You can't access the preloaded workouts without an internet connection.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru That's frustrating that you can't access preloaded workouts without internet. I would think if they were pre-loaded they should be accessible no matter. That's a bummer. Thank you for the information! Your review videos are so helpful.
@@oRexter I didn't get one yet as I won't need to run inside until late fall. I too am interested in the 1750. I wrote to NordicTrack for more information and asked about the shipping delays...emailed three times over the past two and a half weeks and still no reply. I like the NordicTrack button placement better for the incline and speed intervals, but if I were to order one today, who knows when I would even get it!
Does it allow you to build custom interval workouts with 2 or more segments of different speeds and inclines? Can I for instance create a 30 minute workout of 30 second inclined jogs followed by 1 minute flat walks?
Yes, in Manual Mode, you can create your own custom workout. When you are finished, you can save it as a set program and then do it again anytime. You will have to manually run the program the first time, making incline and speed adjustments when you want them. But then after you save it, the settings will be automated so they will adjust for you during subsequent sessions.
Yes, there are preloaded programs on the screen that will still work. You just don't get all the iFit videos. Most of the preloaded programs are either map routes or graphed based routines that display on the screen. There is also manual mode that works with or without iFit.
Great Detailed Reviews! for a 220 lb guy with light running (in terms of longetivity of rollers).. would you recommend PROFORM or Nordic 1750. Also how different is the cusioning which cannot be compensated with decent shoes?
We'd recommend the 1750 over the ProForm treadmills. Also - cushioning does make a difference, especially for those who may have back pain or joint limitations. The Nordictrack treadmills are more cushioned than comparable models, so if that's an issue for you we recommend NT for sure. Sole also makes impressive, durable treadmills but they aren't as cushioned. However, if you are already a runner and you're used to running outdoors, you'll be fine on any treadmill.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru Thank you for your response. Appreciate it. Just re-iterating that your reviews are the most comprehensive ones i have found. Kudos to your team!
Thank you for the awesome review! This treadmill is now updated to the 2021 model according to their website. I've noticed that the motor is now 3.25hp and no longer 3.5hp. Has your views changed with this lower motor? I am now hesitant to buy it with the lower motor. But, I will be the only one using the treadmill and I weigh 175lbs. My goal is to do light jogging daily maybe 2miles 3xs per week and sprint 2xs per week. I am wondering if this 3.25 motor would hold up?
The new 2021 model has several changes one of which is the motor is now listed at 3.25hp rather than 3.5hp. We have tested both machines side by side and we can't tell a difference in power. We contacted ProForm to see if this was a clarification of existing specs (sometimes they round up, sometimes they round down) or if the motor is actually smaller - but we haven't heard back. For your estimated usage, I think the new 2021 model will be just fine. The small .25 difference would only matter if you planned to run fast, long distances. Anything over 3.0 horsepower is plenty powerful anyway. Hope this helps!
I think they changed it to add the screen to keep price down! Who wants to lose performance for a screen they can hardly see? I'll be using my ipad pro!
So yeah I'd bet the motor is smaller cuz they cut back in other areas too. A bit disappointing. I think it will hold up for me as 6,3 and about 235. I plan to use it 3 or 4 times a week for a few miles per workout. Walking, Jogging and running as I build my strength and stamina.
They are actually very similar. The EXP 10i has a slightly larger motor at 3.5hp while the Pro 2000 has a 3.25hp motor. You'd only notice the difference if you plan to run - a lot. Otherwise, they are comparable and you'll be fine with either one.
You should be fine. The Pro 2000 has a 3.5HP motor, which is a good size and should support your usage. If you have a runner (or two) who train longer distances, then it could tax the motor if total usage is more than two hours per day for more than 5 days per week. But otherwise, you should be fine
What would you say the major differences are between this and the Nordictrack 8.5s. They’re similar in price and I’m trying to decide which one I should get.
They're functionally quite similar. Nordictrack is no longer selling the 8.5 on their website, so it is most likely being phased out. For that reason we'd recommend the Pro 2000. It was just updated this year with a new model in 2021.
Is there an use for the ipad?, to see a movie or tv show?, you can connect to ifit but it does not control the treadmill, I thought you could see the ifit workout simultaniously on the treadmill and the ipad but you can't
The tablet holder is designed to allow users to watch (or read) from their personal device while working out. The screen does not allow web browsing and you cannot watch Netflix on the console - so the tablet holder gives you this option without blocking the screen.
Excellent review, really helps me with my decision between Horizon 7.0 AT and Proform 2000. If you don't use iFit does the treadmill still have preprograms you can use or without iFit is the touch screen useless?
I’m looking at two treadmills which one would you pick the Sole F80 Treadmill or the pro form 2000 it seem like they very similar but the sole has a better warranty please let me know
The Sole F80 and ProForm 2000 are both good treadmills. The Sole F80 does have a better warranty. The console is much simpler so it doesn't offer videos or other subscription content, so it's a good option for users who don't want to pay for a monthly subscription. The ProForm 2000 doesn't offer the same lifetime warranty, but it is a good treadmill. The console is more advanced so you can use iFit for indoor classes, outdoor routes, hikes, walking tours, running, walking and even bootcamp, off-tread strength training classes. iFit is free for the first year and then $33/month after that -- so this is a better option for those who want added subscription content. They're both good treadmills, it really comes down to whether or not you want the added subscription option.
I just bought a 2021 version of this model. it says it has a 3.25 motor in it ( is there much difference between 3.25 and 3.5 or can it handle the same amount of work at 245 pounds) I don't like that they downgraded the motor just to add a screen that.im not going to use. I'd much rather use my ipad pro so I can see the workout! Im planning on using it for the ifit workouts and the couch to 5k program. From what I understand it should be able to handle a light run and even hiit is that correct? I'm also the only one that will be using it on a regular basis. Also is it possible to upgrade to a more powerful motor if it starts not being enough?
Gordon, you are correct that they made some modifications to the 2021 model. Most users would never notice the difference between a 3.25hp motor and a 3.5hp motor. For your estimated usage, this should be plenty. It is great for HIIT training and/or running by a single user. You can't upgrade the motor inside the treadmill, you'd have to upgrade to a whole new machine. But for your anticipated needs the Pro 2000 should work great.
Ive had that treadmill since early April, its definitely a really good treadmill for the price. I got mine for 899, been doing mostly running on it and so far its held up really good.
Jade if you’re just walking or jogging I think it should be fine, but for running you just gotta be careful. The higher end treadmills usually have a 60 inch long belt
@@evertrules24 Thank you for your response! We haven't tested the Carbon T7 in house, so your feedback is much appreciated. You are correct that for users over 6 feet a running belt that extends 60 inches or longer is recommended.
Yes, using the manual +/- button you can access intermediate speeds of .10 increments (7.1, 7.2, etc.). There is no toggle button, but you can toggle back and forth between two speeds by just pressing that mph button. So if you want to go from 7mph to 9mph you can do so just by touching the preset buttons.
You can do both -- using the preset buttons, you can jump a full metric (from 7mph to 8mph, etc.) Using the manual +/- buttons on the lower part of the console, you can increase or decrease by .1 (7.1 to 7.2, etc.)
The ProForm 2000 comes with a 10-year warranty on the frame. Yes -- you can run a 26.2 marathon uninterrupted. In manual mode, there is no set pace or time limit so you can run as fast and as long as you would like. The motor will support long distance running once or twice a week, but if you plan to train extensively, you may want to consider the ProForm 5000 which has a larger motor so it can support longer distances/higher speeds without taxing the motor or overheating.
I'm on my second tread mill, my Nordic track 5700 just died, Tried to get support,. was unable to talk to anyone except a sale person to sell me another one. Just bought another tread mill from a different company. Nordic Track just lost my business and $2500.00.
Unfortunately, the screen is designed to just run the iFit content. There is a way to hack the system to access the Android tablet directly and some users have been able to download other apps, but this has variable success and can void the warranty.
The PF 2000 has more cushioning in the deck and a better console layout. There are preset buttons for every speed and incline and the PF 2000 declines to -3% and inclines to 15%. The Sole F63 has a full lifetime warranty, but otherwise the PF 2000 has more features.
TreadmillReviewGuru thank you very much me and my wife are more manual setting type so I ended up ordering the sole63 budget friendly descent treadmill
@@TreadmillReviewGuru What home treadmill would you recommend for somebody who likes to do sprint training three times a week? I need something with really good cushion.
@@dermlover1 for sprint training I'd recommend the Nordictrack 2450 or 2950. They both have extensive cushioning in the deck and strong motors so they'll support HIIT training. The 2950 has a larger screen and larger motor, but the functionality of the two is roughly the same. I love the x22i as well, but that can get bouncy at high speeds (over 9mph) so it may not be ideal if you plan to do mostly sprint training.
The ProForm won't connect directly to Zwift. You can use a Zwift FootPod to transmit cadence and speed to Zwift. Here is a list from Zwift of which treadmills will connect directly. support.zwift.com/en_us/supported-running-hardware-SycvahzDB

Yes, you can access manual mode without internet. However, having an internet connection, even if you don't use iFit, allows for updates and added content from time to time. You can't access the preloaded workouts without an internet connection.
So what treadmill did you get I also wanted to compare this one with the 1750
@@TreadmillReviewGuru That's frustrating that you can't access preloaded workouts without internet.
I notice she mentioned running and jogging but is this good for intervals like sprinting for a minute and stopping And then sprinting again
Sure, you can run intervals on the Pro2000. It would support 1 minute intervals just fine.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru Great, thanks!
When the IFit Subscription is over will the Screen still work? What are the features on the screen without the subscription?
@@IraniCafe thank you!
Also, the incline on the 2021 model is 12 percent vs 15 percent on the previous model. Not sure why they have made these changes.
I think they changed it to add the screen to keep price down! Who wants to lose performance for a screen they can hardly see? I'll be using my ipad pro!
Also it looks like the roller is smaller 1.9, I hear it was 2.5 last year.
Sorry, one more... for construction/stability along with cushioning, what do you think about the ProForm 2000 vs. the NordicTrack EXP 10i?
They are actually very similar. The EXP 10i has a slightly larger motor at 3.5hp while the Pro 2000 has a 3.25hp motor. You'd only notice the difference if you plan to run - a lot. Otherwise, they are comparable and you'll be fine with either one.
Would you recommend this treadmill for a family? Two runners and two walkers who will use the treadmill between 3-5 days a week?
You should be fine. The Pro 2000 has a 3.5HP motor, which is a good size and should support your usage. If you have a runner (or two) who train longer distances, then it could tax the motor if total usage is more than two hours per day for more than 5 days per week. But otherwise, you should be fine
What’s the best treadmill for great cushioning?
The screen still works, you just have fewer options for classes and outdoor routes.
Is elliptical good for knees?
Does the display do screen casting out to other devices?
How do you turn off the screen after use? My screen keeps on and I can’t figure out how to turn it off. 🤔
There is a power switch on the front of the deck, right where the power cord attaches to the machine.
Are you able to enter your weight and age to track calories?
Yes, when you create an iFit profile, you input all of your personal data for accurate calorie readout
If you can, please do the Carbon T7! They have a great deal on it, but I want to see if the machine is even worth it.
Ive had that treadmill since early April, its definitely a really good treadmill for the price. I got mine for 899, been doing mostly running on it and so far its held up really good.
@@evertrules24 THANK YOU!! I read something saying it might be too small for people 6 feet or more. Do you think that's accurate?
Jade if you’re just walking or jogging I think it should be fine, but for running you just gotta be careful. The higher end treadmills usually have a 60 inch long belt
@@evertrules24 Thank you for your response! We haven't tested the Carbon T7 in house, so your feedback is much appreciated. You are correct that for users over 6 feet a running belt that extends 60 inches or longer is recommended.
evertrules24 where did you get it at that price
Super review tks v much
Do you know if the new model with the 10" screen still comes with a tablet holder or place to set a tablet?
The new model does not include a tablet holder, however there is a small lip just above the lower panel on the console where you can set a tablet.
Has anyone seen any reviews for the new ProForm Pro 9000 with the 22 inch touchscreen?
We have this treadmill and are testing it now. Plan to do a review in the near future.
I can't seem to find it anywhere... But what is the footprint of this when folded up? Limited on space and it will be up when not in use. TY!
When folded, the Pro 2000 is still 35" wide, but folds to 44" long and 68" high.
@@TreadmillReviewGuru thank you!
Does this machine give you very small increments of speed like 5.6, 5.7, 5.8, 5.9 etc..with a toggle button?
Yes, using the manual +/- button you can access intermediate speeds of .10 increments (7.1, 7.2, etc.). There is no toggle button, but you can toggle back and forth between two speeds by just pressing that mph button. So if you want to go from 7mph to 9mph you can do so just by touching the preset buttons.
Can the speed be increased by .1 each time or is it just a flat 1 mph increase/decrease? Like can it go up 7.0, 7.1, 7.2......?
You can do both -- using the preset buttons, you can jump a full metric (from 7mph to 8mph, etc.) Using the manual +/- buttons on the lower part of the console, you can increase or decrease by .1 (7.1 to 7.2, etc.)
ProForm Pro 2000 Can I use this for walking only instead of running for more than an hour each day?
Yes, the Pro 2000 is great for walking, jogging or light running.
Is the motor warranty for life?
Can I do a full marathon 26.2 miles uninterrupted? thanks
Wifi, RUclips available in the screen?
Unfortunately, the screen is designed to just run the iFit content. There is a way to hack the system to access the Android tablet directly and some users have been able to download other apps, but this has variable success and can void the warranty.
Do you think it’s better then the sole f63
The PF 2000 has more cushioning in the deck and a better console layout. There are preset buttons for every speed and incline and the PF 2000 declines to -3% and inclines to 15%. The Sole F63 has a full lifetime warranty, but otherwise the PF 2000 has more features.
TreadmillReviewGuru thank you very much me and my wife are more manual setting type so I ended up ordering the sole63 budget friendly descent treadmill
How’s the cushioning?
Moderate. The deck has some flex to it. It's not the most cushioned treadmill, but it certainly has enough for walking and light jogging.
Is the horsepower strong enough for someone that does incline sprints? (About 10-12 mph at 8-10% incline?)
Wow. That's an impressive pace on an incline! Yes, the ProForm 2000 has a 3.5HP motor which will support speed/interval training.
Really big looking tread ..not sure if I like the height
Actually, this is one of the more compact treadmills. It is not overly large.
Does the speed show in kph or mph or both? Thanks
You can select miles or kilometers in the display settings
Does this connect to Zwift?
The ProForm won't connect directly to Zwift. You can use a Zwift FootPod to transmit cadence and speed to Zwift.
Here is a list from Zwift of which treadmills will connect directly.
support.zwift.com/en_us/supported-running-hardware-SycvahzDB
Is this the same model as the Nordic Track 1750?
No, but it is similar. ProForm and Nordictrack are sister companies so their treadmills have a lot in common. The NT 1750 is more in line with the ProForm 5000
Jeez that monitor is way too small, way too small
Great review! Thank you.
