    It is a good idea to add pedals on the fly. I wish the board would grow to the right hand side since drive pedals are more likely to join on that side.

    The videos on the Xpand pedalboards have changed my view of them. Initially, they looked like a good concept that would be impractical or unrealistic but the videos have done a great job of showing 1) how well built they are, and 2) how practical they are. The price for the bags seems to be a bit much, though!

    Hear me out: a version 2.0 where there are batteries built into the smaller rails and power cables for up to 7 or 8 pedals on the larger rails for the ultimate travel/flyrig/busker board.

    If you flipped the upper rail, it may be easier to work the clip. There's Velcro on both sides I saw in other videos. But then you wouldn't be able to see the D'addario name? Anyhow, thank youfor sharing your exploration and assembly fumbles! By far the most entertaining video I've seen on this product! 😃👍

      @@TheGuitarGeek i like that you discovered that there is adjustable feet. in another video, the person noted that a shallower power supply may be needed to fit under the board. I wonder if the adjustable feet might help with this? Oh, your video was the first to show how the wire management works. other have just clipped them in and that was it. I really appreciate your attention to detail.

      @@TheGuitarGeek Wise words, indeed (for which you and your channel are rightfully known). Actually, I have indeed longed for such a solution in the past, having a severe case of Pedalitis that leads to occasional rounds of Pedal Detox, hence a growing and shrinking of my board. Curious to now check out this board and see if there are L or XL sizes available for bigger boards. That would be a godsend, particularly when alternately using my huge, vintage, 5-knob DMM for a while and then removing it from the board for a while.

    I have a 10 and a 5 board. No expand board gimmicks. Switch out worst pedal of 5 or 10 and replace with new awesome. Then arrange in correct order. Because it matters.

    You need to be very careful about what power supply that you purchase OR already own. I have a walrus audio Aetos and it's not because of the size but the height and no way in hell it can go under this board. All I could do is mount it on top which kind of defeats the whole purpose and back the board went. Not a fault of the board per se but I think a lot of power supplies will not work because of the lack of depth. Just a small warning to consider before you purchase one.

    It's useless, here's why.
    1) every gig you will need to take off and put on the pedals.
    2) say that's 5-7 minutes per setting up, then you need time to unplug it all again.
    3) more opportunities for you to plug something wrong and then have to deal with that at a gig.
    Let's say you do this 3-5 times a week. Well, you just lost a ton of time putting and taking off the same pedals.
    It's better to get ONE size. Setup Once. Then you can easily take it out and put it back in your bag without having to do all the stuff I mentioned above. Let's set up time and more efficiency.

    • @jamiemowatt9543
      @jamiemowatt9543 11 месяцев назад +2

      Why would you remove the pedals each time? The bag has enough space for the board in either its smaller or biggest size, as it comes with a spacer/divider. You just disconnect the power, unplug your input and output and pack it into the bag.
