Thank you for the very detailed installation video. I just received my Earthway 2600a this morning and assembled it in my office so I could watch your youtube. I'm sorry your gearbox was faulty. Mine wasn't and all worked perfectly. No parts left over is always a good sign. That fact that all the parts were there is even a better sign. Thanks again.
Glad it was helpful! I love reading these comments. And we always really like hearing that a video we made was helpful to someone else. Thanks for letting us know. Enjoy that Earthway 2600A. Mine is working great with the new gearbox. It's a nice heavy-duty spreader.
Olive, is telling that the package is safe 🤣👍 Very sade that the gearbox is not working 😒 Keep up the great work AND very nice for their customer Service in deed 👍😉 Cheers 👌😉
Thank you from metro Atlanta! You saved me a ton of time sacrificing your time to show us how to assemble this machine (approx. 20 min because of your video). Like you, I wanted to get ahead and have my new spreader ready for the spring and summer lawn feeding, weed prevention, etc... I hope you got your problem corrected promptly by Earthway. So glad to hear they responded to your email so quickly. I
Excellent assembly. A prompt customer service department is always appreciated. Hopefully you can get it working soon. I've had more than my share of products with defective parts that I've needed to contact the company about. It can be a pain, but with fast service helps to alleviate the difficulties. Good work!👍
Earthway has been fantastic to deal with. The new gear box arrived and was simple to install. The spreader works great now! Video about it in action coming out on Saturday.
Thanks for posting this. I had the same problem with the axel bearings not sliding into the notch. Tried for like 20 minutes and gave up. Thought I was going to have to contact Earth Way for new parts or something. The two plier method worked like a charm. I'm back in business.
Your video is super helpful! I think even their own product specialist (the lady) who made the RUclips video for. Earthway didn't install the bare steel mechanism correctly with the spacer
Appreciate this video sir..was stuck on the wheel and axel assembly...in the manufacturer's assembly video i felt the Camera should of been alot closer like how you presented that step. Thank You
I have this spreader and yes it did take about an hour. The instructions are just ok, you may need some prior mechanical knowledge to "figure out" the steps. My instruction pages were printed in the wrong order and I needed to un staple them and piece them together. It is a sturdy and beefy spreader and I like the pneumatic tires too.
Thanks for the comment, Ken. Interesting that your instructions were in the wrong order. That certainly could be confusing to someone following the steps directly with little mechanical aptitude. I agree - the Earthway 2600A Plus has been well designed and made from quality components. Mine is still doing great.
If your drop holes are not opening or closing fully, check that your black spacer is as flush against the bar as possible. At least that is what solved it for me after a lot of frustration. Personally, I found this spreader to be difficult to put together, but it would have been impossible if it wasn't for this video. Thank you Purple Collar Life for sharing your knowledge and I hope that Earthway compensates you for it especially because their directions are so poorly done.
Many thanks for this very good video (and for the subsequent video showing its use). Particularly helpful was to show the use of pliers to fit the axle bearings. In fact I fitted the coaster side first and before sliding through the axle as the gearbox looks a bit flimsy and I didn't want to break it while trying to push in both bearings...BTW didn't you fit the agitator the wrong way round according to the Earthway assembly instructions?
Hi John! Thanks for letting me know that the video was helpful. Several people have commented that the pliers trick was helpful for this and other brands! I don't think I put the agitator the wrong way around, but I'll double check. Thanks for letting me know. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I have the same spreader and i have found that the shaft which operates the flow is very flimsy and gets stuck, which in no time at all has fractured the plastic door which shuts off the flow .I have ordered a new part thinking this will solve the problem, which after fitting seems still stiff and flimsy and bends when operating the flow lever, have you or any body else had this problem.
I haven't heard of this problem so far, but I did worry about the function of the plastic piece that shuts off the flow. I can tell you that the Agri-Fab spreader I assembled in a more recent video has a much MORE flimsy plastic shut-off "valve". Thanks for watching!

Thank you so much for letting us know! Earthway was great about getting the replacement part to us, and the spreader works perfectly.
Thank you for a very detailed assembly video. I did not have the gearbox issue but hopeful that support have sent you the replacement.
Glad it helped! They sent a replacement right away and the spreader works perfectly.
Cheers mate.. Made assembling this bad boy pretty easy👍🍻
Glad it helped! Thank you for letting us know.
Nice video!
Glad you enjoyed it. Thanks, Sam!

Thanks! The new part arrived, was easy to install, and the spreader works great. EarthWay has been spectacular!
Sucks that it had a problem but at least they are fixing it for you

I did the bearings before sliding the axel and I didn’t have any problems

Great video. I love your dog. What breed or breeds is she?
She loves compliments! :). She’s a Great Dane. We rescued her several years ago. We’re not sure how old she is exactly.
I'm looking for a spreader where both sides are drive, no coast. Do you know if this is possible?
I don't know of one. If they were locked together, the wheels would skim one side around a turn (like a solid rear, locked differential axle).
@@PurpleCollarLife I'd prefer an open differential, where EITHER wheel can turn the gears... Not both, and not always the same one.
