- Toronto is experiencing a significant housing crisis. The provincial government has already given Toronto’s mayor, John Tory, strong mayor powers. Now, the Ford government is proposing to give him super strong mayor powers whereby, on matters of provincial importance, he will be able to get things passed through council with one third of the votes.
