Sahariana with autocannon has one neat quirk: You can use it in the FireFight/Academy of Streetfighting skirmish rules. A careful eye will note the rules define prohibited “artillery” explicitly (i.e., it says “i.e.,”, that is, not “e.g.,”, for example, when listing the prohibited as “field artillery, anti-tank guns and anti-aircraft guns”). Sahariana is not field artillery, not an anti-tank gun, not an anti-aircraft gun, and an “armoured vehicle” since it’s soft skin. As far as I’m aware, it’s the only way to get an auto-cannon into the skirmish rules.
What about the Semovente 75/18? It's a Medium Tank with a Medium Anti Tank gun and isn't open topped. I'm asking as I've got one on the way. I'm building 1000 pts or so, of Afrika Korps, 8th Army, US Army (North Africa) and Italians, all based on the starter armies, so I can take it to our club and try to get people playing Bolt Action with basic stuff. Every army has a Med Tank with Med anti tank gun
Im suprised you didn't mention the semovente 75-18 (medium tank with a medium AT gun which can fire as a light howitzer. Or the semovente 105-25 (medium tank with a super heavy AT gun.)
The Semovemte’s are a bit underwhelming to me. I love them as models, but they’re just a bit too pricey. Having no natural MMGs hurts too. The 75-18 almost made the list but I think it’s just overcosted at 170 pts with the vulnerable keyword. It almost knocked the L3 Flamer off the list... almost
@@HollywoodWargaming fair enough. The people I verse often go with bigger tanks so I find the semovente gives me a better AT punch. I take the L6/40 with the flamethrower.
The CV33 is so cute and it's a big reason why I'm considering Italians. Shame the kits are so limited. Hopefully when they finally drop plastic Italian infantry they will also fill out the vehicle lineup
In real life there is only one co-axil mmg. Im not sure why warlord gave it two. Personally the m15/42 should get medium front armour similar to the panther rule. And a medium AT gun like the french and Japanese 47mm guns.
I highly favor the panzerIII or panzer IV. Also units with mg34's. In other words, why bother? They were, however, excellent against ethiopia. So definately take italians when fighting ethiopia.
Well, I for sure got into the Italians for their tanks - they just look too damn awesome!
The lack of a L6/40 is sad
I have had nothing but success with the Autoblinda 41--deals out the pain to infantry and gets out of trouble fairly easily. Thank you for the videos.
First game I played I pulled the autoblinda up on a British carrier, failed to kill it, and got popped by the PIAT team hidden inside
Good times
I am building an Italian Army to face off against my Greeks in the Balkans. thanks for the ideas and thoughts behind your choices.

I was not prepared for how tiny the L3s are. They look like Hot Wheels on the table.
AA-Truck with Super Heavy AT Gun.
Thanks for this, very interesting. Useful for me as a new player. I hadn’t thought about some of the secondary factions but Italy is interesting

Italian small arms were world 🌎 class though some of the best in the war
14:33 That TANK! Wanna Field it!
Only two of the Semovente are open-topped - the 47/32 and the 90/53. Neither the 105/25 nor the 75/18 are.
M13/40 with pintle is great. So many shots.
