Yeah the way I have built my German Grenadiers they would be a tough nut to try and fight in this campaign, as I got 2 Vet 10 man squads with a medium mortar with spotter Reg. and a Sd Kfz 234/2 Puma but would make it a 231 Rad8 since the Puma really didn't come out until Feb of 1944 in any numbers, and a Brummbar. All under a 1st Lt Vet with 1 assistant. This unit has went up against a whole slew of enemies that have outnumbered it with an ability to cause a lot of casualties. I am also going and using my Sd Kfz 251/9 and 16 in this build as a Panzer Grenadier platoon without a scout car Recce vehicle. As it's cheaper than running a 234 or 231 armored car with these 2 vehicles. I think the 217 Abtilelung was the Brummbar unit sent to Italy after Sicily was liberated or taken by the Allies

Nice, gotta love the Brummbär! I've run a similar list before. Using a Brummbär to bring buildings down when enemies hide in there is great!

Can I use these units in standard games or tournaments? Looking in particular at the italian destruction squad. I don't have the soft underbelly book.

I think it depends on what the tournament organizers allow. Same for casual pickup games. Usually best to communicate with your opponent ahead of time.

Nice - interested to learn how did you bind that book that way? It's the wire-o right?

I take any softcovers to an office supply store and they charge like $5 to bind.
