LeBron is right, but that mindset applies much more to Jordan. At the end of MJ's career with the Wizards, he attempted just 108 threes total out of 2851 field goal attempts. That's one three point attempt every 47.4 minutes.
Some of those threes were last second buzzer beaters, too. MJ knew that shooting threes was playing into the defense's hands. He was much more dangerous when he was attacking double teams than shooting threes, and he really never had an issue beating his primary defender. But, if you look at the years when MJ shot alright from three, he also attempted more threes. Still, it's not like his scoring went up when he shot more and better from three. No, he was actually a more effective scorer when he attempted fewer three point attempts overall at a worse percentage. It's all crazy because pretty much everything about him is next level. He's the GOAT for too many reasons!
@hassanorr9078 You're right. It's almost expected of NBA players today that they can shoot the three, irrespective of the position they play. I don't think it's that good for the game, though. But, if a player attempts 8 threes, and they make only 2 of them, now that's only 6 points off of 8 attempts. They would have been better off taking 8 two point attempts, with a higher chance of making 4 of them for two more points, and also putting more pressure on the defense, with opportunities for drawing fouls, offensive rebounds and putback dunks, etc. It certainly makes sense though for ideal spacing that teams have some good three point shooters, but it's getting out of control. I was watching a playoff game recently and there must have been 6 threes attempted consecutively over a stretch of like 2 minutes from both teams, and I was thinking what kind of basketball is this? he won’t because his post game footwork is ASS. when you hear foot work , you hear Jordan , Kobe , Hakeem , KD, kyrie , even Luka. bro played for 20 years and still has the footwork of a 3 year old
That’s what casuals will never understand the game is far more than shooting threes because the three should be a last resort shot that’s why Jordan never really shot them and if that’s your only shot and the defense makes adjustments then what’s left the same forced threes that takes a team out the game. Todays game is live by the 3 die by it.
Bro isn't good with math, I guess. He's a 41% 3 shooter. If he shoots 12-14 3's a game, he's going to average 5-6 made 3's per game. It's that simple. He'll of course have some better nights...but he'd have some worse ones, too...that's why it's called an "average". But 41% is set in stone now. That's what you shoot, no matter how many you take. In fact, if he started taking more, his % likely would go down. He shot 8 a game in 22 and only 35%. It is what it is.
That is just not true and u know it. Shooting 12-14 a game will defo alter his shooting percentage. If he has a off night and isn’t making them and keeps shooting more he could end up 2/12. I’ve seen plenty of games where Bron isn’t making threes so doesn’t jack up more so he ends up 0/4 or something. So no 41% isn’t set it stone. The 41% is only for 5 attempts a game

Lebron gets hacked on his drives a lot and refs never call it fairly. Use common sense, if you see someone like harden getting soft calls all the time and you’re over getting hacked on the way to the rim, you wouldn’t be complaining too?
Why would you worry about putting pressure on defense , when it’s all about winning and more points equals a win . Is this the reason the lakers always come up short ? Plus if he can shoot 3s all day , why wouldn’t he keep shooting 3s . It’s like working smarter than harder 🤦🏾
Cause if drives in more they’ll sag off letting him get easier 3s, and he’ll create more lob oppurtunities, open layups, and ball movement by drawing help defenders, plus if he just chucks threes all game he won’t get layup and free throw oppurtunities which are much more efficient than even shooting 50% from three. Also lebrons efficiently would drop off shooting 14 threes a game, this year he only took 5 per game and the more he takes the tougher the defense would become

And J J is now the head coach of the lakers
Lebron always sound disingenuous lmfao.. He is not who he thinks he is
Sounds like you just don’t like him honestly.
All the hate he gets (view comments for examples) and bro has still been mad successful for 20+ years.
Really though. Why does he receive such disrespect from the people for playing basketball.
@@43200 That's a rabbit hole to go through for that.

lebron driving to the goal makes lebron. it elevates his playmaking. I wouldn’t want bron shooting no more than 8 threes a game, I want him attacking the rim and creating opportunities for others
I cant wait till he sitting next to Shaq an them talkin his shit
lol, hes telling JJ Reddick that he could shoot threes all day but choose not to, when all Jj did in his career. Why are you so rude LeIgototherimbutifyouchallengeme_itsafoul
Cuz that's not his playstyle. He's being honest about his play.
The man has one of the highest shot attempts and one of the lowest free throw attempts among the guys who attack rim at volume for multiple years now

That’s why he can’t win don’t listen to coaches and wanna play HIS way but ok almost got swept AGAIN with that mindset
Coaches are probably looking at analytics though. They aren’t asking you to take more 3s bc it’s cute.
Mike used to say this same thing.
I could win every season. I just prefer to not win in 16 seasons and win 4 with HOF mates
Why should the coaching staff want LBJ to shoot more 3's when AD is not up there all the time to battle for the Off.Reb. .... Dwight Howard, JaVale McGee or Alex Caruso are no longer around to compliment AD, as well as when AD is not in the game....☝🏾
Yo he did not have to do Dillion brooks like that
LeBron just wows me.. Each & every year OmG. This is a player who is almost 40 saying he has to attack the paint, go to the rim vs players in their 20s in the league..
A-mazing!
Thats cringe bro the guy plays zero defense

Definitely not putting pressure on the offense
He talks like this but don’t play like this the past 2 seasons :/ cmon Bron Bron
Wasn't something called "showtime" in the lakers tradition ?
Where is the show if you only shoot 3s ?
So it's an ego thing 😅🤷♂️
5 more and he’s ALL TIME 🧱
LBJ playing against Miami Heat in lakers home court. 0/6 3s made.
Stephen Curry put pressure because of shooting threes, so Lebron is indirectly saying that he is not a good enough 3-point shooter to change the dynamic and put pressure through his 3-point shooting….
Hahahaha put presdure on defense but leaves the team 4 vs 5 when he doesn't get a call he flopped for
How many of those shots will you make???
bron would be in the league a lot longer if he only shot 3s
Even as a Bron fan, I can’t back up what he’s saying, and tbh I always see him doing this to keep his field goal percentage high. Like if you think logic, would it be worse if he drive in the paint more and getting all hit when you can shoot and not have much contact at his age
not much contact ? Bro muscles thru point guards and flexes afterwards 💀 if he did that against people his size CONSISTENTLY, wouldn’t be a discussion
Thank you Lebron not always about shooting 3ss
So, it was in fact an ego thing 😂 Love Bron
I think he should take more mid range shots
he won’t because his post game footwork is ASS. when you hear foot work , you hear Jordan , Kobe , Hakeem , KD, kyrie , even Luka. bro played for 20 years and still has the footwork of a 3 year old
You have to make the defense play defense,if you just do pull up shots you’re bailing out the defense!
Lmao Lebron a troll. Coaches ask him to shoot more 3’s and what does he do, shoot the least amount of 3’s per game since he’s been in LA 😂
That missed 3 in game 2, yeah, don't do that again.
He’s speaking truth
No retire please…PLEASE!
He shoots 3's so he really doesn't have to go to the free-throw line late in games because he can't shoot free-throws
Stop it LeChoke😅
He shoots 35% from 3... he only shot 41% one season
@@jtdabraham7638 I said that in the last sentence.
@@user-rz2gp2hm9z True, and that just further reinforces what I wrote.
Fundamental basketball would be any team that's just jacking 3's

Translation: im built for bulldozing and crying for a foul
Lebron gets hacked on his drives a lot and refs never call it fairly. Use common sense, if you see someone like harden getting soft calls all the time and you’re over getting hacked on the way to the rim, you wouldn’t be complaining too?
And he barely shoots any FTs. Moron.
