Last week we made it to Mexico City where we get to spent Christmas with Nicolas' family. In this episode, we adapt to the visit of our closed ones. Impossible to continue full-time in our #landroverdefender so we take it as an opportunity to experiment another type of travelling in the middle of our full time overland world tour. No more sleeping in the car or cooking by ourselves, with them we adapt and we are going into hotels and go out to restaurants. This is very much like a classic kind of tourism for most people but for us it changes quite a lot from our overland travelling style. From Mexico City historic sites to Oaxaca beautiful culture and colours, we bring you with us for this week of adventure with our family.
The conclusion of this video is that to spend time with family and friends adapting is always a good idea.
See you next week and in the meantime, take care!

We are traveling in our Land Rover Defender 110 which is our full time home for the next 3 years as we explore this beautiful planet.

Thanks, guys 💑for sharing your Christmas in Mexico with Nick's family.🎄 You seem very flexible in traveling the world with your SUV. Hope Nick will recover soon and we will have more fun videos of your expeditions in 2023. On other channels, I watch on RUclips, say there are real issues of killings in Mexico due to the Drug Cartels. Do you feel safe in Mexico. Are there places in Mexico that Mexicans warn you not to go into? Stay safe and have fun in 2023. Cheers 🌮🌮👍

The driving practice that Nick describes at 11:45 is the same I encountered and drove with on a highway in Greece in 1994. Slow traffic would stay to the right, and the faster cars would zip around them, into the oncoming lane to pass. And we saw all kinds of traffic, from old jalopies to Mercedes. So, it was white knuckle time. I imagine that they have widened that highway by now, but who knows?

It's the first of February as I am watching this episode. Since the videos are more or less one whole month later, I just want to ask you if you are still travelling south, and what country you are in now. I am asking because I am currently in Bogota Colombia. My wife and I came here on 14/11/22. It was planned to leave tomorrow and head back to Athens, but we posponed our departure till 7th of March. So, if by any chance want to meet up, and have a good time here in Bogota, it sure will be nice. I have sent you an email, so you may reply to that
Hope to hear from you, Michael.

Hm, when you mentioned seeing mountains covered in Joshua trees and Saguaros was intrigued. So I looked up the range for Joshua trees but it doesn't seem to extend to the region in which you are traveling. The info I found online indicates they are mostly confined to the Mohave desert. The situation seems to be the same with Saguaro cactuses, being only in Arizona in NW Mexico. So what's going on here, I'm confused.

I believe most of us know the distinctions between your way of traveling compared to "our reality"(family,kids,jobs,etc..). Hi John, we see what you mean although we are sorry it came out this way to you. We saw it a bit in a different way in that it it pushed us to question what we were missing by not engaging more in some aspect of travel. So we might adapt to dive into some of the + we identified. We did not mean to contrast a good versus a bad. Thank you for watching and sharing your thoughts it’s important for us.
