Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001) Movie Reaction - First Time Watching. Was it a good idea watching without ever playing one of the games? Head over to www.patreon.com/screensanctum to check out the full watchalong.
Lara is the Tomb Raider. In the original games, she rejects her stuffy aristocratic upbringing after surviving a plane crash over the himalayas and fending for herself until she reached civilization, her parents disown her, and she begins to raid tombs for fun and live life to the fullest. She’s basically an antihero, not all good not all bad, not motivated by money but rather the thrill of it all.
@@screensanctum It's largely a good thing, and the change to her background with more loving parents was carried into both the next versions of the Tomb Raider games backgrounds.
3:50 I went to see Lara Croft: Tomb Raider at the cinema and it's a great movie. Angelina Jolie is an awesome Lara Croft. A British treasure huntress sets out to stop a sinister secret society from finding the 2 pieces of a magic triangle believed to give who ever possesses the ability to time travel.
@@screensanctum I didn't get to see Lara Croft: Tomb Raider - Cradle of Life at the cinema. I did go and see the 2018 reboot at the cinema and I enjoyed it. Alicia Vikander was just as good as Angelina Jolie. The 2018 reboot is not for everyone. But I recommend it.
I love this movie...I even like the second movie as much as the first movie and to some people they like the second one a little more than the first movie due to the CGI was even more better and also had a better villain who was darker...but for me I like both movies equally.
Awesome...and yes I managed to watch the reboot at the cinema that was a fun watch which I still watch on Blu-ray every once in a while and they play this movie all the time within the UK on certain channels...and this reboot was of course based on the 2013 Tomb Raider game that was also good with moments that was quite accurate to the game like the scene where Lara was on this ship that was sinking and her trying to walk across this rusty old plane that was on an edge of a waterfall and of course seeing her in action with a bow just like the rebooted game...she was very Rambo style...and surprisingly it had little moments that had jump scares,...and I know for sure that the reboot was the darkest out of all the movies due to it had more violence along with a villain who was almost similar to the one from Lara Croft 2 with Angelina...and I loved the soundtrack for the end credits. but yeah Lara Croft 2 with Angelina was great which had better cinematography than the previous movie with a little more fun action...and you can tell very much that Angelina worked hard for the second movie because she actually put on a few pounds of muscle in this one...but yeah it's great along with the reboot too.@@screensanctum

Oh cool thank you for that. So a little different. Do you remember how game fan reaction was to the movie changing that a little?

Great! It is very interesting to see your detailed reaction to the film Robocop 1987. This is a cool movie 👍🔥🦾
Do you have any plans to do it?
I can add it to my list. I actually don’t think I’ve ever seen that
Coo! It will be very interesting to see your reaction, even if you have already seen this movie 🔥
