"I curse you forever in name....I bless you forever in death." I love how the Pope or whoever doesn't even seem perturbed at all. He sounds emotionless. That makes his curse that much more badass
Before the last patch and the new true ending, I always thought Escribar sounded exhausted: he was also a victim of the grievous miracle and we set him free of his burden. I felt like that made him a more complex character.
His voice acting never fails to sound just badass, even more so when he turns full on anime-god in the final DLC "HERE WE ARE, my crimson figure and you, on this side of the dream..."
Not surprised by the amount of people in the comments who missed the point of the game entirely and criticize something they don't even know the basics of, nor it's real life inspirations. Then again, it's 2022 and entitled incompetence reigns supreme.
Agreed. As someone who has been diagnosed with and beaten cancer I can attest to the fact that many of the comments here have, unfortunately, taken me out of remission and advanced my cancer to a previously unheard of stage. The stupidity of people is truly unfathomable at times.

Motherfucker I could have done with that old healing lady for this fight... I had no idea she could be available. She died after I killed a much earlier boss for some reason. Going for the no bile flasks in original bosses trophy...
Fuck this boss fight. I guess I'm not finishing the game. This fight brings every rage-inducing factor this game has to offer to the table. Flying enemy you have to hit tons of times before temporarly disabling it, which constantly runs away from you (sometimes even off-screen). Your attack attempts being interrupted either by the floor disappearing from under your feet or by absolutely annoying spells thrown at you and not once knocking you off the platforms. Hell, if you're really unlucky, sometimes you just get spammed to death before your character even has a chance to get up. I care about my sanity too much to bother trying anymore.
Try it. By this time you already have completed the items and upgrades you need. Trust me, he is not the hardest boss in this game at least for me. Crisanta and Isidora gave me more trouble than this guy.
It guess it's more about the type of difficulty than level of difficulty. I didn't have too much trouble with Crisanta as she was quite fun boss. I haven't beaten Isidora yet, she is tough as heck but nothing of her fighting style annoyed the crap out of me like Escribar's. I can't even think straight in this fight as my tilt goes off the scale in the matter of minutes.
@@thorfrancis He is not saying it's difficult. This boss is just badly designed through and out. RNG with platforms and attack positions that you can't do anything about which boil down to luck. It's pure bollocks and unfun. Not a good challenge.
I'm not great at games, and I didn't have that much difficulty with Escribar... Crisanta was BRUTAL until I learned the timing for parries for her attacks. And for some reason I always find Quirce - Returned by the Flames, to be a very difficult boss 🤔
@@arvsindrarys4057Obviously Spanish is better, the bad thing is that here the voices in English are very muffled with zero enthusiasm and only Crisanta is saved because they changed her voice where she already sounds more intimidating
I find the English VO for Escribar works well... to me the Spanish VO sounds more emotional and even angry at points... while I think for the character the calm, almost detached demeanour, especially while cursing you, fits my impression of the character. Not bashing the Spanish VO at all, just saying I think Escribar is one the English VO was very fitting for the character 🤔
It's a penitent hood (called 'Capirote'), well it's actually a metal helm, but designed as a Capirote. He's a Penitent after all, so he must wear it to show everyone that he's paying for his sins.
English and Japanese has far more better voice over for this game... Much more epic before the fight starts... So there's no reason for some other language....
You do understand that's what they are kinda going for right? It's trying to show how religious dogma hides gross cycles. It's the same type of speech that religions use to act like they have authority. You aren't meant to take the dialog for writ.
Considering the era it's in, it's actually correct. Why should it be full of modern slang or simplistic conversation when it's set in the medieval / dark ages?

when u fast forward the dialogue ingame at 4:10 he says 'i curse you..' 'i bless you..' , i must have listened to that over 100 times idk why

Patiently waiting for Blasphemous 2!
Your sword of guilt, and mine of gold.

Yes. I managed to use her help twice on this playthrough.
its not exactly secret you terrible excuse for a gamer. i played this game twice and both times i didn't even consider using her help, FOOL.
Looks cool and all, wish I knew what any of it meant or if any of it has any meaning, games can be so damn cryptic now.

American?
Fun fact, the dunce hat originated from the capirote, as a symbol of humiliation.
Pope Francis Boss Fight! XD
Papa Emeritus IV!!!
He sounds good in English. He sounds outstanding in Spanish.
I'm playing blasphemous 2 now and it's in Spanish and I really love it.
What spell was that?
I was so disappointed when I kill the last boss and I didn't get the true ending 🤦🏻♂️
You will get the true ending on your next playthrough. This is the good ending before the DLC's.
Ng+
Jose Maria Escriva the founder of the Opus Dei?
That I do not know. Maybe the developers based it on him since the studio that made this game is from Spain.

She can only assist you 3 times before she dies. Each time she helps you, she gets older.
@@thorfrancis Thanks, good to know. Maybe a new playthrough to save her for this fight because it's killing me 🤬😭🤪

It's less than 1GB including the DLCs.
Did u download it?

Sounds so much better in Spanish.
You can have Spanish voiceover with English subtitles.
There's no reason to play this game in any other language.
Will try on my next playthrough. I haven't got the Bad Ending yet.
I can think of a few reasons to play this in other languages, but you probably aren't interested.
