@@p-o2938 I don't think either type of run is more impressive than the other. They all require their own precise execution, and at the end of the day that's what makes speedrunning difficult and impressive. They're simply different runs, one just happens to be shorter than the other.
aside from the art direction and character/environment design it's a terrible metroidvania with boring repetitive combat and an unreasonable amount of insta-kill situations

With the dodging I found out at least if you’re using the dodge speed increase knot item, if you hold down forward and down and press dodge fast you will constantly dodge and speed across the map 👍 Might help in speedruns Not sure if it works without the item for dodging faster yet

Hey man, the thing you did with the first half of the final boss can also be made with Crisanta, only that you have to give her the last blow or the game will glitch.
he had to farm the neccessary amount of tears to get the ranged attack which would have killed time. he couldnt use his prayer either cuz he would have killed himself before he could have killed crisanta

So you put yourself into a glitched state where you can transition screens and interact with stuff, but it doesn't trigger whatever flag that lets the game know you already used a Mea Culpa shrine? Interesting. This type of stuff is why I love speedrunning. Navigating there blind sounds pretty tricky. Thanks for the reply!
I have 90hrs of gameplay under my belt. I have so many questions: is this really glitches? No cheats? How could he use the elevator without all three masks? Why is his swort so incredibly strong? Why can he seemingly slash/attack faster than usual? The off-screen kill of the first stage of the final boss was impressive. I have seen some REALLY good players with hardcore skills here which helped me a lot with my own gameplay but i have never seen a glitch-play so far.
elevator - it needs any 3 masks, not specifically all 3 unique masks. I collect the one from melquiades twice. damage - during the long section near the beginning with the menu covering the screen I'm doing a glitch to collect the albero mea culpa shrine multiple times attack speed - you can cancel the attack animation by crouching then immediately do another attack
1. Have any of these glitched been patched out? 2. Do you just press esc to go through dialog that fast and 3. How do you perform the mia culpa glitch?

I was stuck on Crisanta for so long, and you made her look like child's play! Good job
after some practice you discover that she is an easy boss
She's easy to defeat as she keeps spamming her rush attacks which you can block. Hardest bosses for me were Quirce and The Last Son of the Miracle.
