Excellent review! As a senior citizen, play-ability is a big issue. Martin is not known for "out-of-the-box play-ability." This is a game changer. I haven't even mentioned tone, plugged-in tone, price, good looks, etc., etc., etc. Martin has stepped into the 21st century with a winner. Thank you.
Really showcased its versatility in this video bro! The blend of acoustic warmth and electric clarity is impressive, and those shredding solos are incredible! Can't wait to try one out for myself! 🎸
The Opeth demo sounded awesome! Do you think it would be worth investing in the LR Baggs Anthem system for this guitar in order to have the internal mic?
I mean the fishman Mc-t sound just fine to me. I’d be gigging with them but the Anthem should fit right in and you can reuse the input and battery port
@@Music-for-Miles I was thinking of potentially using this guitar to try recording DI in since I don’t have a sound treated room and the Anthem seems better if it has the built-in mic. But it’s good to know that for gigging, the stock pickup sounds similar to the Anthem!
It sounds ok, but honestly it sounds _nothing_ like what you expect from a Martin. Like all purchases that aren't prestige or investment driven, ignore the name on the headstock and try a whole bunch. For that kinda money, I know I could do better (at least, to satisfy _my_ personal sonic tastes).
Obviously my demo was the best I could do with my limited resources in my tiny studio but in a mix it cuts so well! I recently recorded with it on a track and it really did well sitting on top of the rhythm guitars. Very well positioned for a lead guitarist.
08:45 - I’m not claiming to be great at finger style, I threw it in there for those who want to hear how it sounds direct in haha I primarily use a pick.

@@johncrane6673 thanks for watching! I highly recommend this model, fretting chords is a breeze!

Thanks a ton!
That guitar sounds so pretty!
The action is amazing, easy to play. Love the flat tone. Amazing sound. Thanks Mike
Great review!
Glad you enjoyed it
Hi buddy ! Great test considering you probably convinced me tu get one 😊
@@heinhein54 it’s awesome! I highly recommend
@@Music-for-Miles Thanks for the advice, I'm gonna go for it. No doubt it's gonna be a huge upgrade compared to my Epiphone EJ-200 CE
Nice review and great play there bro!
Thanks a ton!
Nice! Opeth!!!
Really good demo. You have a great voice too. I have a SC13E but am looking for a bit more warmer sound. This one sounds just about right with a mic.
Thanks! Yeah this model sounds great mic’d up! Direct in it can really cut through a mix if you’re playing lead also.
fire bro
Bro can shred

How would you rate the playability at the neck compared to a traditional dreadnought ?
Completely different, this plays more like an electric than a traditional acoustic. It’s wild!
Wow there is a lot of sustain on the intro.
Im going to go buy a guitar now
that guitar sounds so beautiful for how cheap it is
$999 msrp but I’m sure you can find a dealer selling under this
Bro can you find a cheaper alternative like this one, would appreciate it❤️
Check out the GPC-X1E you can find the at around $600 however it does not have the performance neck.
@@Music-for-Miles thanks man
I wish Martin would dump the fishman pickups
They are pretty easy to swap out if you chose to mod it. L.R. Baggs system fits right in and you can retain the battery/input.

Selling point for me is the neck. I’ve yet to play a full body (not counting Ibanez TOD10N) acoustic that feels as close to an electric neck as this.
Sound is very thin and tinny in all honesty

Not impressed. Sounds tinny.
Does guitar review, forgets finger style players exist. (Unless you want to hear how poor the signal chain is. )
