    You asked why the movie cost $70 million. Most of the budget probably comprises Al Pacino's and Johnny Depp's salaries.

      Sadly it is. I'm one of the many suckers that suffered through this torture...
      Which makes me wonder: when did Adam became terrible? Last year I tried Pixels and holy shit was I bored! Then I watched Anger Management two months ago and it was, well, okay... It felt like a dream where most things are "normal" but with bursts of insanity at times. THEN after a short while I saw Happy Guilmore on Netflix and squealed with joy: not only my memory didn't embellished the film, but I could tell why it worked.
      It worked because Adam Sandlers, as far I can remember, was flawed but loveable when he made characters for himself. Also, his jokes weren't just endless gags that made the movie look like an even more endless series of sketches, and believe it or not, his good movies didn't rely much on poop jokes. I watched the Riciculous 6 and at first I was "Sweet! It looks great!" Then came the shit, piss, semen and zoophiliac jokes... *sigh*

      @Emilia Barzini Sure, what makes you laugh is very subjective, the other day I broke up in laughter for something that many people would only find moderately funny. However, in my humble opinion, when I compare things like Jack and Jill and Happy Madison, on a technical standpoint, I think it's not irrational to pinpoint that the latter is better written and acted, compared to the former, and BY FAR.
      Still looking a things objectively, I really think that Adam is a really good actor capable of showing a varied range of emotions. Again, when I watched Jack and Jill I was constantly asking myself if he was giving a single rats ass about his performance. Where I do admit my subjectivity is how intensively I hated watching this thing because for starter I hate hate HATE weird voices, and I know many people who wouldn't blink an eye at this. Also, I felt(notice the accent on the "I" followed by a verb conveying a personal feeling here) that it was just a long compilation of sketches rather than a "movie".
      Anyway, that's my take on it, I don't force anyone to see things the way I do... Just opening up and sharing my experience here.

I remember being very excited for Don't Mess With The Zohan because the first 10 minutes looked really promising but I just fell asleep at the end. How do you manage to make a comedy about Arabs interacting with Israelites boring? Pixels is just dull, which is sad because the premise was interesting, but it just ended up being a snoozefest with 80's nostalgia crammed into it. How bad is "Jack & Jill"? It's quite possibly the worst Adam Sandler movie ever made and that says a lot considering most of the movies that he's starred in have been panned by critics. Adam Sandler was basically ripping off the gimmick that Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence used in "The Nutty Professor" and "Big Momma's House". Adam Sandler is dressed like a woman and he hasn't cleverly disguised himself as a woman like the late Robin Williams did in "Mrs. Doubtfire". Adam Sandler has poorly disguised himself as a woman and that's the whole joke of this movie. It seems like Adam Sandler's career has been going downhill since 2007. The rest of the movie consists of toilet humor, jokes about bodily fluids and bodily functions, Adam Sandler doing an annoying voice and making annoying sounds, and Al Pacino ends up carrying the whole movie. If you want to see Al Pacino star in and carry an entire movie by himself then that's the only reason as to why most people would be able to tolerate this movie. FanboyFlicks should review "That's My Boy" in the near future because like "Jack & Jill", "That's My Boy" is also listed as one of the worst movies ever made. If you want to watch a couple of good Adam Sandler movies, then I would recommend "Happy Gilmore" and "Funny People".

I thought it was going to be the typical stupid, sappy, completely unfunny romcom and I protested watching it, but the girl I was dating at the time swore that I’d love it. She finally convinced me to see it and it was really funny. The part with Dave Matthews and the coconut at the end was priceless, especially cuz I can’t stand his music lol. That and 50 first dates is pretty good too. They’re no Billy Madison, Happy Gilmore or Bulletproof, but they’re not at all bad. I even thought some parts of Jack and Jill were kinda funny.

    3:53 No, FanboyFlicks, the point of this scene is to show all the Coke logos as product placement. This whole movie is product placement, from the Sony VAIO computers the characters use to the Dunkin' Donuts ad they make, on top of taking a Royal Caribbean Cruise. Nothing is generic, and that's the point, because it's really an ad.

      @AntoniTolwinski 7 лет назад +5

      It's highly over-rated. The next film the director Michael Cimino did was Heaven's Gate, considered one of the worst films ever made. It's so bad, that people questioned whether or not The Deer Hunter was actually a good film because there's no way someone could be all over the board like that.

    • @frederickshaibani5655
      @frederickshaibani5655 7 лет назад +3

But I went by the advice of a friend when I said "Who the fuck goes to a movie on their own?" to which she replied "I do when I'm bored and have nothing to do. You should try it". So I did. I don't look up anything about movies before going to see them. I just go and pick something or ask the people selling the tickets. Of course, this all changed when the person recommended this fucking abomination. I sat through this diabolical pile of fucking awfulness. By myself. There was literally no other person in the theatre, which should've been a red flag, but I already paid for it so... Yeah. I didn't see anyone else mention it so i will. Don't blame katie for that decision to leave the batman franchise, her husband at the time, Tom Cruise, forced her to not take certain film projects because he was very particular about who she could work with and how long she could be away from him. It's ultimately why she left him and took her child and wanted custody from Tom.

    • @The-Man-On-The-Mountain
      @The-Man-On-The-Mountain 5 лет назад

      "Forced"? She has got own will. She can choose, we all can choose. I am not defending Cruise, but please, leave the white knight armor and don´t blame the man for her decisions. She left him. She perfectly could have done it earlier, but I guess is much much better to have the kids and then parasite the man´s fortune for the rest of her life.
      It´s amazing how it´s always men´s fault, fucking always. So are you saying that a woman should not be accountable? An adult woman makes bad decisions and she is not responsible for her actions? Go fuck yourself.

    On some website about celebrities being jerks or not, someone told a story about seeing Adam Sandler waiting in line for the concession stand at a movie. A grandmother was taking a granddaughter, about 3-years old, to the movies, and the little girl was crying uncontrollably because the place didn't sell the candy she wanted. Sandler got down on the floor and entertained the girl until she stopped crying and was happy again. What's the point of this? Al Pacino got a paid vacation to hang out with some fun people on a project that literally could not have any impact on his career whatsoever. Why _wouldn't_ he have done this movie?
