Concerning the sound, yes. This long echo/reverb tail is typical of this tune. The VST system i am using allows this knid of effect.

C'est avec grand plaisir que je viens de découvrir ta vidéo. Le son et ton jeu sont extraordinaires...j'avoue mon ignorance quand à ce titre, il va falloir que je me procure les CDs des Shadows des années 80 que je ne connais pas.
Bien sur je te retrouve souvent chez "cricri" qui fait un super travail avec les images; le dernier titre vous met vraiment en lumière. Peut-être qu'un jour je me jetterai à l'eau avec ta méthode VST; pour l'instant je préfère profiter de ma relative bonne forme physique pour vivre le plus possible dans la nature qui m'entoure.

Il est clair qu'au niveau vidéo, je n'arrive pas à la cheville de notre Cricri. Il faudrait que je m'investisse un peu plus là-dedans, mais comme toi sans doute j'ai pas mal d'autres loisirs en plus des VSTs et de mon forum, et entre tout ça il ne reste pas beaucoup de temps. Alors je me concentre sur les sons...
Les titres 'modernes' des Shadows et/ou de Hank Marvin sont un peu délaissés par les adeptes, mais pourtant il y en a des tas qui sont excellents. Et la reproduction de ces sons modernes (qui font bien sûr appel à des techniques bien plus riches et variées que dans les années 60) est largement aussi compliquée que les sons vintage, voire même davantage.
Quand tu seras décidé pour les VSTs, on t'accueillera avec plaisir sur notre forum, et tu y bénéficiera de toute l'aide nécessaire, en cas de besoin.

The VST really is THE Shad’s benchmark, I can hardly find words to describe how much I love it 👏👏👏 👏👏With VST you are enabling ‘that sound’ to many Shads&guitar enthusiasts. My first time with VST was a ‘is this really me’ experience. Because of the sound you actually will play better.

Hey Christan, is there any oatch lists for the VST? Can’t seem to find the, and some of them i have found the echoes don’t sound right.

Question "bête" : ce son est purement magnifique mais aurais-tu essayé de le reproduire avec Amplitube ?? et dans l'affirmative, je serais volontiers preneur de quelques conseils de réglages. Merci d'avance.

Merci pour les compliments.
Pour Amplitube, non, je n'utilise pas ce système. J'avais fait quelques tests autrefois, mais j'ai laissé tomber, le système n'étant pas assez ouvert. Mon système VST est totalement perso (mais je le distribue gratuitement sur mon forum) et est constitué de plugins soigneusement choisis pour obtenir un tas de sons, depuis les sons très 'vintage' des années 60 jusqu'à des sons un peu plus modernes et planants comme celui-ci. L'avantage c'est que c'est aussi un système 100% ouvert (on peut rajouter les plugins qu'on veut), au contraire des offres telles que Amplitube, GuitarRig et autres Waves...

Bonjour Christian, merci pour tes superbes performances, à cause de toi j'ai dû réapprendre le phrasing de certains morceaux des Shadows, tu avais le son mais aussi les note exactes :) je me demandais si pour le package il faut toujours un ordi avec un processeur lent, j'ai un intel I7 4 coeurs, mais je serai prêt à trouver même d'occase un IMB AT avec windows 1si il le faut si c'est toujours une exigence:) Merci. Merci pour ce message. Pour le package, au contraire ! Il faut un processeur RAPIDE. Plus l'horloge est rapide mieux c'est. Je recommande d'avoir au mois 2.5 GHz. Je ne connais pas la vitesse de ton i7 mais en général ils sont rapides et ça devait aller. Par contre le système ne fonctionne que sous Windows, pas sur Mac

@@springer16900 Superbe, j'avais dû comprendre à l'envers il y a quelques années, dommage ça m'a fait perdre du temps. OK, l'ampli est-il important ou bien les patches contiennent aussi le son d'un AC30 boosté? car j'ai juste un petit AC10 tout à lampes mais que je trouve un peu aigu et pas assez de compression , et de plus je ne me souviens plus de l'adresse pour les patches il me semble que j'avais trouvée grace à un ami musicien qui m'a dirigé vers un fan club et c'est là que je l'avais vu first time. Ce qui m'a motivé à prendre directement contact hier avec toi c'est parce que je trouvais vraiment que le son collait mieux qu'avec d'autres musiciens, et que mon copain avait acheté le dernier truc de Hall & Colins 1000 Can$ ce qui fait trop pour mes finances actuelles j'ai une famille à contenter avant, et enfin, as tu d'autres interpréations vidéos des Shad que tu joues , même anciennes mais qui ne sont pas sur RUclips, je regarde à corriger mon doigté sur certains passage des chansons que je joue, je suis sur qu'un bon son m'y aiderait déjà, mais te voir jouer est un plaisir aussi. Avec la pandémie ca me donne un peu plus de temps pour jouer. Bye.

Là tu y trouveras des documents qui expliquent ma solution. Il y a des versions françaises pour tous ces documents. Ca nous fera gagner pas mal de temps si tu les lis, et ça m'évitera de répéter tout ce qui s'y trouve. D'autre part, une fois inscrit sur le forum on pourra communiquer plus facilement qu'ici. J'évite les trucs un peu techniques sur RUclips.....
Saches aussi que ma solution VST est disponible gratuitement à ceux qui en font la demande sur mon forum. Donc une solution qui permet d'avoir le même son que sur toutes mes vidéos, et 100% gratuite en plus. Ca mérite au moins la peine de l'essayer.

Not really. As said above, I still play with our virtual band (Virtual Shadows Tribute) and you can find our videos on cricrimusic channel on RUclips.
And I have been developing a lot of sound patches for my VST package that I distribute on my forum. So indeed I am very busy and I have less time to make new videos. I will try to make an effort... LoL...
Hi Christian..you play very well...you are the other Hank Marvin...I really like to be able to use your VST package but I am not so good with computer software...but I am good at fixing guitars...would you let me know the mods you used on your Strat? Thank you for the comments (exagerated....).
The only modification on this Strat+ is the replacement of original sensor lace pickups by 57/62. Nothing else.
For VSTs, no need to be an computer experts. Many people on my forum are dummies and they succeeded at using them. So why not to try, at least ?

@@monmac1165 Can be used (I know some people doing this). It simply requires an additional equalization to compensate for amplifier sounds alterations. All this is explained in VST Package documentation and tutorial videos.

Yes. I have used my VST package. This is direct recording (Cubase), no guitar amplifier used.

No, I am not using VSTs in Cubase to generate the sounds. I am using patches that are running in the VSTHost program of Hermann Seib (probably you know). For this patch, I am using (among many other plugins) a Voxengo Boogex with an impulse response of Bright Vox ans SM57 on axis.
In fact, I have developed a VST package that I distribute freely on my forum vintage-sounds.freeforums.net
This package includes more than 300 ready to use patches for Shadows, Spotnicks and a few other artists. This is a kind of plug and play system. You simply need a PC (Windows) with good performances and an USB audio interface with ASIO driver; You can have a look if you want. Patches are designed to deliver the sounds of the original records without any other equipment (so no guitar amp). But you can still use one and in this case you must make some equalization to compensate.
