Walking down the street, It was late at night, she publicly said NO... I needed desperately to run away, until she whispered... So It Might Secretly Begin, I was 17, she was... my life then and Pat was releasing this incredible theme, every single chord, paints all those feelings back in the dark of my night, 1987...
This piece only gives me that feeling that it is all in its way, nothing uncertain, but only happy equilibrated vibes, on a smooth as silk vintage portrait, full of the balanced watercolors of the sea, from above the tree tops, I can see your house from here, and may I say, then and only then, it may secretly begin... GRATITUDE FOR ALL! ThanksPat and all the incredible musicians that have always accompanied you. May your friend Lyle rest in peace, the original solo of the piano in this epic song sustains the test of all times, as one of my favorites.
Can you believe I heard the song sometime in the 80ties and it stuck in my ear for 20 years until I finally listened my way through all PM albums (I'm not a jazz fan) to find it? Amazingly catchy melody.
haha, I'm a bit sleepy and read "I much prefer this trio to myself" and thought "heck I'd rather listen to this trio over myself any day" hehe. But anyway I really like this version better than the album version myself, it's amazing :)
Does anybody know the names of all the artist and the instruments that they are playing in this song?Composer? The name of this place where they are playing at?
i guess Pat likes Sanchez so much because he pays like a Jazzier Paul Wertico, but dang, I prefer him with his older trio with Stewart and Grenadier: Things were much more daring then, creatively.

These guys made timeless jazz on a whole nother level!
This song i so nostalgic. I remember being 4 or so when my dad would always play it on the radio.
one of the coolest basslines I've ever heard. Amazing how this song sounds live and on the record.
When smooth jazz radio stations were around but not anymore at least here in Miami Florida.
Your dad was a good dj!
Awesome drummer!
So beautiful, it drives me to a deeply emotional state kind of like Pat here.
Damn good Antionio sanchez on drum and Christian mcbride on bass
Pat is one of the top 3 smartest musicians I’ve ever heard of
This is the version he did when i saw him in Boca Raton FL last year. Can't wait to see pat again!!!

It's astounding that it made such an impression on you for so long.
The opening strum piece is heavenly!
Saw this trio at Jazz Alley Seattle. I remember it was the first club gig I saw him at so first time so intimate a setting.
Saw them there as well. An utterly sensational performance.
We've had the pleasure of hearing Methany with Antonio Sanchez twice before. We'll catch them again next weekend at Monterey Jazz 59, can't wait.
Really this IS the best of Pat
This, I LOVE, NOW AND ALWAYS! Excellent delivery! Beautiful players! Divine!
I love Pat Metheny ❤
Adoro esa pieza en estudio!

Pat and this trio came to Richmond VA for their tour, and I saw them. I thought I had died and was in Nirvana.
Wow 😲
0:50 shiver

and they were best friends and
Lovers the rest of their lives.
2:03 the lick
Is that Christian McBride on bass?
I believe so.
This is back when Antonio Sanchez actually complimented the music instead of distracting from it. I miss Paul Wertico!
Genius
This isn't Jaco but So May It Secretly Begin. Thanks for sharing, what a great tune!
44 with hemiola bass line
theres's a thrill
the title isn't JACO, but SO MAY IT SECRETLY BEGIN, first recorded in 1987 on the album STILL LIFE (TALKING). Anyway...Pat is always the best!!
Please upload " all the things you are" with Jim hall, on legends of jazz
@Del76Toro Antonio Sanchez - Drums Christian McBride - Bass and of course Pat Metheny - Guitar
Mais alguém veio escutar música de verdade?
I prefer this version than the original recording

Does anybody know the names of all the artist and the instruments that they are playing in this song?Composer? The name of this place where they are playing at?
😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘
I wonder who are the eleven people that dislike this video
They must be spirits.
Huge sound they get from a 3 piece band

Honestly, I prefer the tone of Metheny's Ibanez PM35 here than the Gibson ES-175. Feel free to label me an heretic, but so be it.
Man, I'm thinking the opposite. Really loved that classic 175/ delay thing he had going on, esp w/ Gary Burton...
Steve Rodby
Be that as it may, It could be due to the strained budget for the type of action movies he does. I'm referring to Pat, not Chuck!
The perfect crime

Pat employs an octopus that was a friend of his from high school. The only reason he bought that instrument was too give his old friend a job!
