The interviewer himself seems to be well informed about the subject which normally makes for a good interview, surprised to see very few views for this video.
Sanjiv sanyal is in some dept of govt but half of time he is promoting his grandfather in independence history or discrediting ashoka or other buddhist kings. For him Ashoka committed massacre but samudra gupta conquered india just making one round trip.

I understand that a lot of narratives had been unfairly created regarding Ashoka by the then historians like Romila Thapar like for example Ashoka's repentance & conversion to Buddhism after the Kalinga War.
Also i understand that Ashoka had oppressed practitioners of other religions like Jainism, Ajivikas etc.
But i see that Sanjeev Sir is also not giving him the due credit for things like being able to keep the Greek & central Asian invading forces out of the Indian subcontinent, his policies of Dhamma inspired from the principles of Buddha although he himself might've not followed them and Plus the stambha he built which Sanjeev sir is very conveniently disregarding.
His policies made Mauryan empire weak which lead to its disintegration. During his grandson's reign he refused to punish the Buddhist monks for harbouring Greek spies which led to Pushyamitra kill him and taking over the reign.
Never thought of this in this way. How much ignorant i am has a sanatani. And how much they manipulated iur mind.
Hope our next generation is better known of our culture.
Ashoka also banned meat eating and animal sacrifices of hindus. He forced Brahmins to become vegeterian. That's why many hindus today are veg especially brahmins.

Is there any evidence that Veda are older than Ashoka? Also Chanakya existence is denied by ASI recently in a RTI. Without any evidence Sanyal is talking that it is Dharma chakra. Hinduism as concept didn't existed then. Vedas are just 1500-2000 yr old as per ASI. Everywhere we have evidence of Buddhism in our country.

@@mallikarjunmandagondi1901 I asked for evidence. There's no evidence of Sanatan Dharma in Indian history. We all belong to Shaman culture. Sanskrit is fabricated or Sanskarit language from Prakrit. Vedas has word Rushi. Fact is the sound of ऋ itself came before 1500 years. Other than this there are a lot of evidences. Somnath temple has Buddhist temple structures below it as per the report generated by IIT Gandhinagar after investigation. This investigation was asked to be done by PM. PM has not made it public yet.
