Whoever built and designed this was unbelievably skilled. That this can be put together in a few hours like a lego set is just insane, also that these guys remember exactly where every piece goes.

Shows, just how many times they put this up and then down again throughout their lives.
Don't know how well you understand German, but it was said, that the looms were put up between Michaelmas and Christmas to weave the linen during winter and then taken down again in spring to make space for other things, since the farmers usually didn't have a desgignated space just for weaving. Which is the reason why these looms could be taken apart. Full-time weavers had looms that were installed into a room, fixed to floor and ceiling, to give it maximum stability. But yes, this is a wonderful piece of craftsmanship!
And, oh goodness, I'm so tempted to build a loom now. - The technical drawing is underway and my husband in a panic. But one really got to love, that they show every single piece and every single step.
